  1. I don't doubt Ford is working hard to resolve these issues... They have no choice.. This system is being rolled out to more and more models each year. Sooner or later it will be in all there cars. The point again is... We spent 40k on a car... You should expect it to be in mint shape the day you roll off the lot. Do you find a dent in the door and accept it? If you do well then this conversation is over. The Dealers make good on minor issues discovered on delivery... But this issue can't be handled by the dealer. Most if not all Dealers are just as in the dark as we are. They need to communicate. I shouldn't have to activily call Ford in the hopes one day someone will answer and say, yes we have an update. I have better things to do with my life.
  2. I dont really care how the inform there customers... but leaving them in the dark? We just paid 40K for a car that doesn't work.. never has worked correctly from the day we drove it off the lot.... Im not asking for anything more then customer service. All those people who aren't having issues... You think they are going to be upset ford announced a software update? Maybe mailings are a waste of paper or money... but someone posted early a great solution announce it on there web site.... Something.. anything other then leaving us all in the dark to find our own light.
  3. I am glad your happy, and have had no issues.... I dont expect to be hounded... Im not asking for a phone call every day for it. But an e-mail... or a letter in the mail.... You may have no issues... but theres plenty of people who do.
  4. I am sorry, but i can't agree with you on this.... We pay thousands of dollars for these cars. We as a consumer should not accept anything less then a fully functioning car. My current version of 2.4 is a few updates behind. I can understand that going to 2.4 to 2.5 may not be necessary, but when ford or the dealers know theres THOUSANDS of people with issues... The least they can do is notify customers there's available updates especially when i am several updates behind whats current.. although not required updates.. they exist. It should be up to me if i want to take a day off of work to leave my car at a dealer basically stranded for a day because they refuse loaner cars. These are all policys from FORD, not the dealers themselves. Each Dealer would LOVE to have us come in every day for updates.... they get paid by FORD for all warranty work they do.
  5. I am having ALL of these issues... and I have tried multiple phones! Two Blackberry's and a Droid. My car is currently running version 2.4 ( yes I know outdated already) about a month ago i brought it in to the dealer as my screen was rebooting with the "performing monthly maintence" crap. and my Bluetooth not connecting for over a week. They claimed they updated my software and when i got it back all seemed to have worked for a few weeks but 3 weeks in my screen went blank and again saw the montly maintence. M yblue tooth for the most part still works, but on occasion will disconnect and reconnect on its own. I snooped around and discovered i was still on 2.4. I finally called Ford Customer Care who informed me that version 2.10 was available for my Edge. I questioned why i wasn't notified of ANY of these updates being available and the woman had no response. My appointment is this Thursday.... fingers crossed!
  6. I just spoke with Ford Customer Care for Sync and she confirmed that for my 2011 SEL EDGE there is an update for version 2.10 currently available.
  7. Interesting article... I happen to work in IT and consider this system more techie then anything. The issue isn't the technology... its the people using it. Not saying anyone is dumb, but people are affraid of change. Just like any new car you need to learn the controls again. Ever look at all the buttons on a new Fully loaded Acura MDX? I think theres alot more to push then the edge. not to mention, if you dont want to use the touchscreen... use the buttons below it like any other car. Through in a touch screen for technology and everyone gets confused..... its the same stuff just a different type of button. My Edge is on order, so maybe im not the best critic yet, but so far on my 3 test drives I had no issues finding my way around the controls ;o)

  9. Thanks all... I ended up leasing, and decided to go with the AWD.. Silver SEL AWD 202A with Nav and Vista Roof on its way ;o)
  10. So My 2011 SEL 202A is on order, but im not sure if it comes with this cargo net. Is this a standard item with the edge or an accessory for purchase?

    Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!! My point exactly. Anyone interested in 1/4 mile times shouldn't be shopping for an edge. I researched this car for a while now and am currently waiting for an 11 AWD to arrive, only thing HP meant to me was, the car would get onto the highway when i needed it to.. Not blow the doors off the CRV in the lane next to me I could careless about that.

    Um... who cares about 1/4 mile time, if your looking to race why would you buy an edge in the first place? Its a CUV... Comfort MPG and some power to get on and off the highway is what matters. You want to race research the mustang or camero's 1/4 mile times and HP.
  13. I live in Long Island NY and on occasion we get hit with a big 12+ storm but id say on average we may get 2-6 Inchs of snow.....
  14. So glad I found this post... I am looking to buy a new Edge SEL and have been torn between AWD and FWD. The AWD is just out of my price range but the FWD could work I just haven't been to sure how it will be in the snow and Ice. I live in NY on Long island and although not to often we have gotten hit with snow falls of 12 plus inch. Wife's pregnant and I just want to make sure what ever I get can make out of the driveway in snow. Id love to hear more good thoughts on the FWD and snow Performence. Thanks!!
  15. Looking for a new edge SEL 202A... contemplating FWD or AWD... FWD is alot cheaper, and im looking to get the best overall price i can.. Thoughts?????
