  1. I think the money factor on the 07 is .75 for 36 and 1.0 or 1.25 for the 08. I got an 07 SEL+ and love it. The residual value is also critical - 58% on the 07 and 60-62% on the 08 - the dealer told me both figures. On a lease I don't think there will be a huge difference, have you dealer price both. For purchase the 07 is definitely cheaper. If you are not interested in Sync or the 20" wheels there is not a lot of reason to wait for an 08. Either choice is a good one.
  2. Yep, I have reflections with my Stone leather interior under certain conditions. Keeping the inside of the windshield clean helps. The film builds up quickly.
  3. When I picked up my new 07 Edge on the Oct 10th, there was an 08 MKX fresh off the truck and on the lot. Sticker was about 42K. It was the new for 08 Light Blue Ice with beige leather and looked good.
  4. I picked up my new SEL+ on Wed night. Light Sage Metallic, Stone leather, BAMR - everything but nav & DVD. This is really an exceptional vehicle. Even though I am a Ford retiree I shopped a lot of other vehicles but thought the Edge was the best. I really like the luxury touches like dual power seats, the driver's seat going back when you are ready to get out, puddle lights, etc. I upgraded from an Escape and glad I did. My wife picked out the color. On a cloudy day it can look a little dull but in full sun the metalflake really looks good. I wasn't too crazy about the chrome 18 inchers but am really glad I have them. If Ford can get people to just give the Edge a chance they will sell. It feels like a much more expensive vehicle. I took it to work today and showed some of my co-workers who all drive Japanese and German cars. They all said "I can't believe this is a Ford." It shows that the product is right. I got an 07 because the 08s are still very hard to find in my area and I was not sure I wanted to take the chance on the Sync system. I trust Ford but Microsoft's BSOD (blue screen of death) might be in there somewhere! I'll be watching to see how people like the Sync and if any bugs show up. Congrats to all the other Edgies. We made a terrific choice in our new ride.
  5. What state do you live in? That might explain why you got $1000 and Kontra says $500. Also did you have to pay an acquisition fee and get 'wear and tear' coverage as part of your lease? In Virginia they add both on to the lease and neither one is cheap.
  6. What is the Job 1 date for the 2008? Is it typically about 6 weeks before they get to the dealers? I need a new vehicle around the middle of Oct and am trying to decide whether to wait for the 08 or get an 07 while there is still a little selection left. I am mildly interested in Synch but not sure I want to be one of the first buyers and end up having to debug the system for Microsoft - and Ford. Any advice? According to the reviews at Tire Rack, the Conti's are the best performing tire available in that size. I had Conti's on my Escape and replaced them at only 5K miles because they were terrible in the wet. Great product Oakville, I hope you all get lots of overtime!
