  1. Congrats on the new ride. We have the same color but ours is the SE model. I would love to have those rims but not the price tag that goes with the tires when they wear out. My wife loves our Edge and is very happy with it.
  2. I think ours was $700 if I remember correctly. I know it will be worth it in the long run.
  3. I do not get to drive ours much. It is my wife's Edge. I do get to see it in the driveway a lot.
  4. You know I will look at mine today. Since it is a 2011 it would have the same as yours Shaky
  5. Welcome. We just got a 2011 Edge SE and love it.
  6. Yes. The one we have gives us 3 oil changes a year for free and other basic maintenance items. The oil change is every 5000 miles which is 15000 miles a year. It covers the Edge up to 100000 miles. There are different levels of the ESP as well.
  7. Thanks Richy. I will read up on it. I use to read on all the care products and over the years have gotten away from it. I do detail my motorcycle a little more than my truck. Bike does not take as long. Since I live in TN we do not get a lot of snow but when we do they coat the roads with brine and tons of salt. So I really want to put a good protection on the edge.
  8. Yes it is called the Extended Service Plan. We have it on ours. Only thing we did not add to it was the lojack stuff. You can find it on the ford site. It is worth it.
  9. So in your professional advice what would be the right tools to do the job and not break the bank
  10. Looks just like mine minus the front plat holder.
  11. Yep read all about that. That is an easy one for us. We do not have it in our SE model. Thought they all came with it but they don't. The Sync is cool to have but not a need. Thanks for the welcome.
  12. I believe in doing things myself. that way when it gets screwed up I have no one to blame but myself. I would love to get the right tools for the job. Having been a C130 Crew Chief and worked on all my cars, trucks, and motorcycles I know the importance of having the right tools to do the job. I did save the link you gave in an earlier post. I do know if you are not careful you can burn through the paint when using any hi speed polisher. Thanks for the help.
  13. Ok after reading several thoughts on sealers, cleaners, and wax. I have always used Meguires products. I use the Liquid Gold Class on my truck and cars. Is this good to use on my 2011 Kona Blue Edge? I will pick up the good stuff because I had a friend that use to detail cars but he has since moved away sometime ago. So for now is the Meguires one of the best OTC polish and wax out there to use? Also what would be good to use on my 1999 F150 XLT to bring back the luster to the paint?

  15. The spare tires that come with cars/trucks now are just temporary. They get you from point a to b and that is it. They are not intended to be used for a long period of time. Their use is to get you home or to a shop so you can put the main wheel and rim back on. They are also only rated to go no more than 45mph on most of them. I would rather have a full size spare for piece of mind if I am traveling on a highway.
  16. Just bought a 2011 SE that has some of the SEL options which is nice. The one thing I really like is the LED lighting on the front. Ours does not have this. I know there will be some Edges going to the junk yard with in the next year. I hope they don't but it happens. What I want to do is get these lights and add them to the front. How hard would this be and should I let the dealer do it so as the warranty does not come into question. Like I said we just bought it. It has maybe a 100 miles on it. Bought it with 5 miles on it on Friday 31 Dec 2010. Thanks and if this is in the wrong place Admins/MODS please move to correct forum.
  17. Great review as my wife and I just bought a 2011 Edge SE. Ours does not have the Sync in it. Actually I am glad it does not. Something else to go wrong. I can by an aftermarket technology to be able to talk through my car. Just remember anything that is controlled by a computer will run slow when it is overloaded. Seems all cars now are nothing more than a rolling computer. One day we will just get in and tell it where to drive us and off we go. For now though I will enjoy our new Edge.
