Question I have the turn by turn navigation through services on my MFT. I didn't get a SD card when I got my car. With the USB stick and SD card with a new map that will be available whenever, do you think i'll be able to see an actual map on my screen now or will it be the same way but just the new user interface?

Ok so i'll join the line with my fellow 2011 Edge AWD owners with this issue. Here is my recent experiences with this. I was going down a slight hill made a left turn at the bottom of the hill, then accelerated in a normal manner I felt a jerk as soon as I hit the gas :peelout: Two days ago on my way home from work, approaching a red light, my speed was about 25 MPH. The light changed to green I stepped on the gas in a normal mannor but the car didn't speed up. In the midst of saying WTF to myself, it catch on then the engine revved up a little :blink: I have 7548 miles on the OD. On my next oil change, ill mention those two experiences to my service advisor. Something tells me I already know the answer to my question from them. "Yeah we took it out on the road but couldn't find any problems with it." Despite the issues with MFT and now this, I still love my edge. Ill keep you posted

i was just wondering if MFT was powered by Apple do you think we would have so many problems with our systems what do you think?

I never go on a road trip and rely on my MFT. I alway carry my little Garmin 265WT with me. Recently I drove to Atlantic city NJ from NY. I program MFT and my Garmin 265WT with the same destination. MFT was suggesting some questionable directions, while Garmin was right on point. On the way back, the system just froze up even before it could give directions. I pulled over shut the car of, open the doors let the screen go of same result. I did this 3 times NO LUCK. I made a stop in NJ for about 10 min, shut the car off now am almost home no longer need GPS, MFT now functions. MFT is all computer related stuff so i expect things to go wrong sometime or another. But at the frequency this device is screwing up is not kool. At the dealer, the sales guy didn't know shit. i was told that the SD SLOT is just for pictures. i have the SEL model with voice guidance. My MFT refers to the garden State PK/WAY as "AN UNKNOWN". I didn't get this option in my car as a free perk. i pay for this and i want it to work as intended. dealer is no damn help in resolving the many malfunctions and fustrations I've had with this MFT. And yes i request a system update from the dealer about 3 weeks ago to whatever latest version is out there. i think they did because my radio and clock programing was all reset or maybe they just disconnect the battery in the car let everything reset back to default who knows at this point. I am FRUSTRATED as many others thats why I ended up on this site looking for HELP.

So its been 5 months since I got my edge SEL. I have about 2700 miles on it i dont drive much. My beef with this car is the Stink system. wait! correction i meant SYNC system. I was so excited about this at the dealer, now that I look back, am like wtf were you getting so excited about. Now am saying to myself what was ford thinking when they decided to put this as an "indash keep your hands on the wheel and drive your mind crazy device on such such a nice car". For starters i miss seeing a MAP on the GPS screen. why will you make the system rely on your sell phone all the freaking time to get directions? well i dont need to get into all the ass backwards design options for this system. Now this brings me to my next questions. in about 3 years time, will you pay ford sync services to have this NAV system active in your car? As a little side note, i had the pleasure to driving my friend 2011 infiniti fx35 for some time and i compared it to my edge. shhh dont tell him but my edge handles pot holes better. i really feel them in his car. i love the NAV system on the infiniti. no cell phone to get directions hint hint ford and it has a map. steering was nice and soft on the FX my edge well it felt very stiff. my edge more room, the FX nice icandy. I THINK WE ARE FORDS GINNY PIGS FOR THIS SYNS STUFF. what are your thoughts?

Hi about 2 weeks ago, I heard a odd sound coming from the front end of my edge. It only happens when I make right turns. The best way to describe this sound to you is say the word "who" but longer "whoooo whooooo whoooo" ok go ahead laugh lol. I haven't hit any big pot holes, or did any reckless driving with my new edge. Currently it has 900 miles on it. I brought it back to the dealer describe whats wrong with it and as you can imagine, they found no problem. I got my car back the same day, drove down the block made a right turn and there it is again. I went back to the dealer before I could say a word, I was offered a tech to come for a ride with me to experience this mystery problem. Sure enough it did it. They kept my car for 4 days trying to find out whats wrong with it. To make a long story short, I got my car back on my way home it started doing it again. i was told that they did a front end alinement and something else that didn't help. Has anyone else experience this problem with their 2011 edge mkx version or previous models. This problem is starting to pushing me to the edge slowly.

hi i have a 2011 edge SEL. your problem sounds like something i started experiencing last week with mine. i've only had this edge now for less than 30 days. when i turn the wheel to the right i hear it (only the right) i went into a parking lot and did a few complete left turns no grinding only happens while turning right. i did it in reverse also same result. i havent had a chance to take it back to the dealer so they can figure this out. also today a new message popped up. "Service traction control" 786 miles on my can an this crap starts already. ill update later after taking it in.

hello, I have a 2011 Edge SEL without the factory subwoofer. I want to upgrade my speakers and add a subwoofer also. Is there a way to add a aftermarket style subwoofer in that little area to the right side of the trunk. . I want it to blend in like the factory style. Any links, parts, pics, videos, mods etc, would be great. Thanks for all your help.
