I finally got around to caring about my rims (my least favorite part of detailing). What I did turned out awesome. - I sprayed some P21 Total Auto wash on the rims, and let it dwell for about a minute. - Used a glove wash mitt and washed and the chrome. Let air dry. - Applied Poor Boy's Wheel Sealent, let dry to a haze. - Wiped off with a terry cloth. They look like new again.

What software version do you have? I have 2.7 and my clock is always 1 hour behind, no matter what I do. I have been told that Version 2.8 (available now) fixes this problem. I just have not have the time to go the dealer yet. I have an oil change due next month, so I will probably do it then.

After 3 trips to the dealer, they finally put v2.7 on my 2011 Edge. I have only had it 1 day so far, but I did notice the response times are slightly faster. Especially the heated seat buttons.

So, I scheduled an appointment to get my car (2011 Limited) updated from v2.4 to v2.7. It has only 900 miles on it. I had to leave my car there for 5-6 hours which I was not too happy with already. About 1~2 hours after I left, I got a call from the dealer. The SYNC update siezed up & froze the APIMS module. That controls the whole 8" screen. It was an unrecoverable error. My luck, those are not kept in stock. They have to be ordered which is VIN specific. Now I have no 8" screen use until Monday, when I have to go back to the dealer again. This time it's a whole day they need it. I asked the guy if this was common, and said it's quite common, about 50% of the cars have this issue. So now I am going to be sure to never bring it for a software update on a Friday again, and on a day when I can afford to have mt car there 2 days. Frustrating!

As a navigation engineer, I can let you know ome work-arounds for your NAV system problem. For your HOME destination, you really don't want your exact address or even your street saved as your "home". If someone should steal your car (however rare that may seem), they could direct the navigation right to your house, and get in to your garage with the opener. I always use a nearby major intersection as my saved location for home, because the system is more likely to know major roads. Plus, the potential theif would have to go through every street of 4 or 5 nearby subdivisions to actually find your house..

1) My Blackberry phone was paired and auto-connecting flawlessly for about a week, suddenly it no longer connects. 2) When I tried to manualy connect, it fails. When I asked the car to "connect to a phone", it locked up. 3) I had no screen functions (no NAV, No Radio), and the voice commands stoped working. 4) All the screen said was "searching for phone" I even restarted the car - Still locked up. This was highly frustrating, as I had some urgent business calls to make, and I needed the hands free option. The one time I really needed this to work. Is there a reset button or fuse I can pull, when I need to correct the lock up in an emergency?

I am a new Edge Owner, and I have some specific questions I did not see addressed in other threads. 1) Leather Steering Wheel on my Ford Edge. What is best way to protect that from dirt, grime, and keeping the current "new" condition? 2) Front Chrome-Like Grill. I assume is chrome covered plastic. How do I get the bugs & grime off, and how to do protect it from future bugs & grime? 3) The leather seats. It seems like Leatherique Rejuvenator & Prestine Clean are for keeping leather soft & supple. My problem is my 6 year old that drops gummi bears, or otherwise gets the leather sticky. Is there preferred cleaner, for sticky "kid" residue before I use the Leatherique? 4) How do I clean dirt from inside my wheel wells? I assume it's the same car wash Mitt I use for the wheels & tires? Thanks for the help. I am learning a lot on here.

I am wondering if you give the same detailed care to your new Lease car as opposed to purchased car? I have a new 2011 Edge Limited AWD, but it's a 2 Year lease. So I am pondering how crazy I want to get with the continious waxes and polishing.

My wife had nearly the exact same experience in our 2011 Edge Limited AWD. She had the FOB with her, and got a "No Key Found" message and two beeps. She even tried the emergency start method, and thet did not work either. However, the power liftgate worked ok (she reported). I had her stop all activity, and exit the vehicle, and wait for the vehicle bus to go to sleep. Once she that did, the car started right up. I didn't call the dealer out of fear I would be the only one, but it seems there is at least one more.

Coverking looks awesome. But they do not have 2011 option for the Edge, Is the seat configuration & design the same as the 2010?

I have a new 2011 Edge Limited AWD, and If I lift up my load floor, and look at the spare tire, I have these 2 narrow channels of extra space on either side around the tire. 1) It seems like they would have moved the tire to one side, and have a larger single pocket, but that's just me. 2) Has anyone found a creative use for these narrow & long pockets? I shoved some rags & a towel along one side, because they always come in handy. Plus, they will never "rattle". But I bet some other people have found good uses. I wonder what they are. Thanks

I just received my 2011 Edge Limited AWD last week, and I have some questions; 1) Is there ANY other way to activate the heated seats, aside form touching the 8" screen in the "climate" area? There is no physical button, and the manual does not mention any "voice" command for this. They have like 3 or 4 different ways to change the temperate (via voice, 8" screen, and buttons). However, only 1 way to turn heated seats on, which is very annoying. 2) My heated seats do not activate with remote start, when it's cold outside. In the Cluster, I go to Settings > Vehicle > Remote Start > Heated Seats, and it's set to AUTO. What does Auto mean exactly? Is there a threshold or logic for when it activates? AUTO is pretty vauge. 3) Is there a way to know what My Touch software version that I have? Thanks
