  1. Well, I talked a third time to here.com and they had the nerve to tell me that the card is not defective, but if I ship it back at my cost, they will ship me a new one.
  2. I got my A5 memory card map update Tuesday. It will not display maps at less than .75 mile scale. It knows the roads are there because it will build a route, it just doesn't display the map. I called here.com (old navteq) and they don't do technical support and sent me to national Ford. National Ford transferred me to here.com who eventually hung up on me. I put in my old A4 memory card and everything works fine. I talked to the local dealer and they are at a loss. They are checking the TSB's but don't hold out much hope. Anyone else having map display problems with A5?
  3. The lane change feature will give you three turn signal blinks if you press the turn signal lever half way in either direction. Neat feature but........ My rule of thumb was three blinks before I started the lane change and a couple of blinks during the lane change. Is there any way I can change the 3 blink setting to 4 or 5 blinks? 2011 Edge Limited FWD
  4. It is a 2011 Edge SEL built in the time frame addressed by 21744. (It would be interesting to know what changed to establish the end date for 21744.) 21744 only deals only with the door locking issue and while the problem I had may be related, it is not addressed. A failure of Intellegent Access to unlock the doors is a minor, but irritating problem. There are four ways to unlock the driver's door. On the other hand, there is only one way to start the Edge and if you have Intellegent Access and it fails, you are SOL. All the electronics are really cool as long as they don't fail. When they fail.......................
  5. I was out shopping today in my Edge SEL. I stopped, shopped, and put some packages in the back using the keyless entry. I did some more shopping and returned to the vehicle, using keyless entry to unlock the doors. I put my foot on the brake, pressed start, and "No key found" (or words to that effect) was displayed in the left panel. I took the fob off my belt and set on my lap, "No key found". I put the fob in the little pocket (logo up) in the center console, "No key found". My wife moved her fob to my lap, "No key found". I performed the remote start procedure, the Edge started, but then when I touched the brake, "No key found." I called the Ford 800 number. Can you say "endless (^&()*)(*) menus?" I called my dealer, no help. I called the 800 number back. All they will do is tow the car. They have no trouble-shooting steps. I finally got out of the Edge, triggering the alarm (at least that works). I closed the door using the touch the bump method (keyless), I unlocked the door by (keyless) grabbing the door handle, I got it, put my foot on the brake, pressed the button, and the Edge started. WHY???
  6. The comments on the cell phone have been posted on the Ford Sync Forum under "Verizon Samsung Intensity II (U460) Pairing".
  7. We ordered our Edge in November, it was built over night Dec. 22-23 and arrived at the dealer Jan. 10. We did the paperwork and paid the money on Jan. 7 and picked it up the morning of Jan.11. The details: Red Candy - Not the best for the desert, but we are tired of silver & white cars Medium light stone interior - it gets hot in the desert - we will be putting sheepskin seat covers in front Trailor package - bigger radiator for the desert Driver entry package - for ? Navigation - for no good reason No BLSS - I decided I wanted see what was out there instead of being told "something" was out there. No sun roof - it gets hot in the desert. Once you decide "no sun roof" what you can have is very limited. Nits.... The trailor hitch receiver is flush with the back edge of the bumper. It should be recessed a good 6" so the bumper can be a bumper. The red candy sure shows the dust The turn signal function will take some learning. I have a couple of left then right turns and I am used to pushing the turn signal from left to right and on the Edge, that just turns it off. Pairing my phone to Sync (this will be a separate message) In general, we like it. We haven't had any major problems. There is a lot of "getting used to" in the electronics. We only have 400 miles so far, but we will add to that.
  8. I am waiting on my Edge Limited and I am 6'4". I tend to recline the seat back and rock the seat bottom to get head room. I am guessing that you like to sit more upright. It really becomes a function of leg length, arm length, and trunk (head to butt) length. You can play with the seat and the steering wheel locations to try and balance all the factors out, but in the end, it is always a compromise. Ford left off the adjustable pedel position on the Edge (a notable omission) which would give you another adjustment to throw in the mix. Since I could fit in a Honda CRX, I figure I can fit in most vehicles.
  9. Greetings. I am also new from AZ, but down in the desert. I ordered a candy red almost base Limited last week. I am hoping Ford gives me a Christmas present. We can share what to look for when the Edge becomes "ours". I am getting the impression that there will be have to be major time invested to train the electronics to recognize the new owners.
