  1. I've had exactely the same thing with my Edge. The dealer said to spray some Lysol or Oust under the dash on the passenger side. I did it several times, the smell has now gone. He could not give me a direct answer, but it seems like it's water trapped from the aircon, hopefully it does not stay trapped and smelly. I couldn't see any trapped water, I crawled under the car, saw nothing.....so who knows?
  2. I decided to keep the Edge, sold my Jeep and bought my daughter the 2008 Ford Focus. Don't get me wrong, I like my Ford Edge very much, however it's was a juggling thing, we did not want my daughter to start driving a 265hp car that's why we tried to trade the Edge for something else. Initially we thought the Jeep would be great for her, but it was so big and high, she could hardly see out. So the Jeep's to big and the Edge's to fast ??...... that's what started the ball rolling. Living in Florida, we used the Jeep to the beach and fun driving, so we really did not want to get rid of it. After finding out about the trade price of the Edge, we decided to trade our beloved Jeep instead. (we will get another one sometime) Got an excellent trade price for the.. 2004 Wrangler with premium wheels, and quiet a lot of little extras. The trade did not cost us a cent, we got a $2000 check back from the dealer....now that's a deal!! At the end of the day, my daughter loves her Focus SE Coupe, we keep the Edge, and have our motorcycles as extra transport if needed. We drove the Focus yesterday from Palm Beach (FL) down to Fort Lauderdale and averaged 32.6mpg with only 5 miles driven on the interstate the rest was local traffic light to traffic light driving. WOW!! I am impressed...
  3. My 2007 Edge whine noise is now constant, it started when I travelled over 65mph now it's pretty much at any speed. Ford says, "they can't hear anything!" I have tried several times.......so go figure, I think their technicians are stone deaf! My car is going in for a service next week, I will try again, maybe I will find somebody that has good hearing..
  4. I paid $26,000 for my Ford Edge SE last year July. I was thinking of trading it, only to find out that's it's only worth around $18,500 It's in excellent condition with only 9200miles on the clock, with upgraded CD and parking sensors. It's lost $1000 in value per month!! So why the bad trade? This is my first Ford, and I enjoy the car.....but jeez...... my Mazda and Suzuki didn't devalue this much so quickly???

    MPG??????

Just done a 4600 mile trip with my baggage load edge and Thule bag on top, averaged 21mpg @ 70 -75mph. Around town, not stomping on the gas everytime the light changes...taking it easy I get 18mpg a bit of a heavy foot definately changes the game.. The Edge went extremely well, no complaints other than....why do they give you that skiny biscuit for a spare tire???? Come on Ford.... how about a REAL spare tire? Happy New Year everyone.
  6. There is a small metal pin that secures the headrest. You have to remove the little plastic "filler/cap" on the right side base of the head rest (If you were looking at it from the trunk) use a very small screwdriver, the plastic "cap" will come loose with some gentle leveridge, once this comes out, there is a "C" clip, carefully remove that, once you have that out, the head rest can be removed. This is about the best way I can explain it......good luck!
  7. My Edge started to whine around 1000 miles. I first noticed it on the highway, it would start a high pitch whine around 70mph if I dropped my speed to 65mph it would go away. I am sorry to say, it's now at every speed and while idling. As you can imagine the technician can't hear it!! all I get is this blank look when explaining the sound. Any ideas on what it could be???
  8. *****You sound whipped!!!! You Old boy......
  9. $600 WOW!! I think you got ripped off..... I bought my clear 3M coat protector on eBay for $40.00 got it fitted by a guy that does window tinting, and it looks great....or should I say, you can't even see it on. The whole "story" cost me $60 for fenders, hood, mirrors, leading edges the works, not $600.
  10. 2000 miles already, going on a 4500 mile road trip in December. Just love my Ford Edge. No complaints, it's so quiet, you have to be very carefull not to start it again! while it's running, done that once or twice. Go for it, it's a great drive!!
