  1. Soak it with hairspray, wipe clean with paper towel. Then wash hairspray residue away with clear water. Hairspray shouldn't do a thing to harm your vinyl and it's the best thing to remove ink on your clothes, too.
  2. If you were in my driving pathway.... You're at a genuinely great dealership. Good for you!
  3. I like Earnhardt the best (Ray and 1-10). Bell Ford and Sanderson are both really good, too, but not on my regular driving route. I live in the West valley, work in the East valley. Pioneer on Litchfield was the facility that fixed the issue. It's stayed gone this time ;-)
  4. Oh, and I do highly recommend >1 dealer. The best evidence I had was 4 different dealers all agreeing that the issue was real. One could have "not been able to reproduce" the issue. But 4? That was crystal clear.
  5. It took them 10 days. ABS light on, Powertrain light on, Traction Control light on. They replaced the ABS and Powertrain modules (again, just like they did in SLC). I *literally* turned the engine over, still in the dealer's lot and the warning lights were on. Again. It was a wiring harness. They had to climb through all of them, but it's fixed now.
  6. My Edge is at the dealer for maintenance. I have a rental -- a CX-7. It's 4 miles from the dealer to my office. In four miles: It's smaller, driver's seat is day and night less comfortable and I do not like the control panel one little bit. The speedometer is going to get me into trouble if I don't watch it like a hawk. It's nimble, easier to park and the suspension is tight. Brakes are the same.
  7. Lex said it for me. It's there, but not sticking out like a sore thumb. Oh, and it's got the 2" square opening. A plus in my book. The ex-factory Ford hitch is the 1 1/2 opening.
  8. DON'T. DO. IT. The Ford ex-factory trailer hitch and harness requires you to (not kidding) cut the plastic bumper to fit. I'd negotiated for one at purchase and then just bought the aftermarket one, anyway. Dealer cost on it was more than aftermarket trailer hitch that didn't require the bumper cut.
  9. Sirius made it easy to "think" it over. I just got a card in the mail letting me buy one month and get three with a three month contract. They're betting you forget to turn it off and continue month to month. Easy marketing. Sound wise, yes, it's certainly not hi def. It's more like "AM Talk radio". Favorites are 011 (BBC Radio One) and several bluesy stations. Stuff that isn't on the radio (yet -- or I just haven't looked hard enough) in Phoenix. Stuff I've liked: Always having radio...even in the sticks. Always being able to find a BB playoff game....not that I care anymore. Always having stations that I know I like. You'll give up sound quality when you're in the middle of nowhere. I didn't have a dislike. I can deal with inferior sound quality in the car. I keep the sound low anyway. I just didn't know how much it was before putting up this post... $13 a month. Good thing. Satellite radio isn't like high speed internet. You can do without it just fine. But for 4.33 a month for the next three months, that's cool.
  10. SEL+, but I'm not sure that would have an effect. I don't hear that noise. Sorry you're hearing one.
  11. You did a really nice job of it and it's clear you worked hard to get it done perfectly. Your ride, you get to decorate it. Ignore the "not for me" chorus in the peanut gallery. You should be proud of the job you did. Enjoy it!
  12. So, ironically, the Edge was in the shop getting a new sensor. I had a Mazda 5 for 2 days. Not the 7, not the 9, granted, but the 5. Two words: no thanks Keep in mind that I had an MX-6 forever and a day, so I am a Mazda fan. The only thing on the Mazda that's better is the 50K warranty.
  13. Looks like I'm headed in to the dealer tomorrow. Warning lights for ABS, Powertrain and Traction Control are intermittently on and turn themselves off again. (Didn't I just do the module change out?) While I'm there, I'll have them look at the external temperature gauge (mine is reading too high) and an unusual smell -- like a natural gas leak. I've never seen a warning icon turn itself back off before. Weird.
