  1. maybe on day..someone..will come up with SMOKED LED replacement tails..that would be awesome.
  2. yes mine is just a film.. an idea would be for a group of us to buy a core set..split the 300 bucks ..say 5 ways..not too much OOP for each person.. only thing is..after everyone is done..what do you do with the last OEM core set? sell them on ebay? split the profit? hmmm..just thinking out loud..maybe the compnay..if the demand was high enough would consider buying a core set. I know I have seen 1 tail on ebay..
  3. cops have the do as I say, not as I do..which is bullshit..tint is tint..cop car or civilian..its shouldn't matter. as long as the retro red reflector still reflects it should be legal..on that all black..thats a different story.
  4. can he just 'smoke' them and not totally black them out..blacked out would get me a ticket for sure...a light smoking would be nice too.. Somewhere there is a step by step process on one of the forums I am on about 'smoking lenses' yourself..its not that hard to do..
  5. The SCT only improves 1 and 3 on your second list..or it should..it should be able to remove the speed limiter. How an SCT handheld tuner works. There are two methods.. the 'normal' way of getting you custom tunes is by you buying the SCT and there is a computer plug under the dash. You plug it in, turn the key on but don't start..you get your stragey code and you would call Fred and tell him what it is..he will the make a tune to that stratagey and then send a file to you via e-mail and then you would download a program onto you computer call 'liveload' ver.3 and you would plug your SCT to your computer via a standard USB printer cable then open up live load. Once liveload is open you search for your file that you received in your e-mail and double click it..it will download into the SCT handheld tuner..you do this three time..1 time for each tune..it can hold three custom tunes. Once the tunes are load to the SCT box you will disconnect from you computer and plug it into the vehicles computer port under the dash..you will then select what you want to do..'load a custom tune' turn the key on and approx. 1 min later you will have a custom tune loaded in your vehicle with custom parameters..if applicable, larger tires for shift points, and speed limiter removed, then you will have a file for you vehicle that is based on the type of fuel you want to use..see above. Once you want to set the vehicle back to stock simply plug in the SCT to the vehicle computer and select return to stock..approx. 1 min later your vehicle is back where it started. hope this helps.
  6. I am not Fred..but on my SCT on my F350 6.0L Diesel the SCT will calibrate the trans shift points for the larger diameter tires and wheels so that your shift points are correct..but as far as on my application and other as far as I know, an SCT X-cal cannot calibrate or adjust the actual speedometer. I have been wrong once before. LOL But it should also be able to read and clear DTC's, which is a nice option. As far as tunes go Fred..how much would unlimited tuning run? I know I paid 400 for my SCT @ GoGoDiesel.com from Doug and that came with unlimited tuning..and its endless on the diesels..ya know.. I want one of these..I know the three tunes are great..but I know you will come up with a higher performance tune later that I would want but also dont want to spend 25.00 or 50.00 per tune if and when you come out with a new one. I have seen your shelby on youtube..and its badass..9.57 is wicked. Thanks, Adam
  7. yea..I know..the 22's just look sooo good..I mean dont get me wrong the 20'sw are good too..but I like big rims..LOL
  8. actually the fuel economy on the highway should be better..considering it is 10.xx less revolutions per mile. and thats where most of the mileage is..I am not worried about the braking..my wife and I are very defensive drivers..so that wont be a big deal..I am going to weigh the stockers vs. 22's just too see exactly how much weight I will be adding..it probably wont be a whole heck of alot more. I have an emergency fund..so i wouldn't be using my life savings or anything..I draw plans on the side and have a lil cash to play with.. so this post wasn't should I put wheels on it or not..just which ones.
  9. if you go to the discount tire.com..you can do a side by side calculation.. http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoTireMath.dos the stock tire is a 245/60/18 t he tire I am going with would be a 255/40/22 enter in those specs and see how close they are..probably the closest that you will find. as for the weight..yes they are heavier..but the circumferenc is only 1.44" bigger..so it should not be that big of a problem..however if you add more rolling mass the brakes wont work 'as good' as they did stock. as for right now I dont think they make an upgrade kit yet. my odo would only be off 1.01 mph at 65 mph..which is not bad at all.. 07, I dont have kids yet..that is a ways away..I am gonna get wheels..just cant figure out which ones.
  10. yea..I know tirerack does that..BUT they only show you wheels that they sell..and its not realistic..ya a photoshop is more believable so to speak. 07..that sounds like a good idea..but I just don't really care for the stockers..they are OK..but honestly I like more wheel less tire. so if you are liking the idea of black wheels ..does that mean you like the 22" black wheels I posted..or just black wheels on my edge in general..or if they are not stockers painted black..don't do black? I love the TSW wheels..but damn..I like to have a lil' cash in hand after..and they will clean my clock.. Funny to see how times change..married now..out on my own.. When I was single living at home..I spent 3500 on my first set of 22's and then 5500 bucks on 24's for my suburban..now I don't even want to spend 2600 bucks..is this being wise and frugal or is it being a tight wad? LOL I thought I was gonna like the new 20's from the factory..but after seeing them I am not too fond of them..I am at a loss..wish I could just find a really good deal on the TSW's..
  11. I am wanting to put 22's on the new edge..I had my mind totally set on the TSW montage in hyper black because its a simple clean wheel and by the picture..it looks like it would be really really close to matching the color of the Edge.. But after pricing them out..they are 400 bucks per wheel then about 250 bucks per tire.. so thats about 2600 bucks before tax and mount and balance..sooo I am weighing other options..I really like the black wheels mainly like them on a black vehicle..I am looking at the Fusion Flex in black..its a nice wheel..not quite as simple as the TSW..but I can get the wheels at wholesale price (friend of a friend) and get a real good deal on tires..probably get tires wheels lugs mounted and balanced for less the 2k. I am just not wanting to do chrome at all..dunno why..but im just not wanting that. So after you look at the pictures tell what you think..spend the almost 3k on the TSW's or get the Fusion flex in black for a good deal. TSW Montage' in hyper black Fusion Flex in Black here they are on a KINDA similar vehicle the CX-7 but the vehicle is black..obviously unlike mine..but I think they look good and here is a side shot of my edge if anyone is REALLY good at photoshop..and could maybe..possibly..if its not too much trouble..put them on my vehicle that would be awesome. Thanks and I am looking forward to the responses.
  12. yep..they may do it..I am gonna try to get some GOOD pics this weekend.
  13. its not that type of tint..its like a plastic..but malable of course....kinda like the plastic decals you put on the inside of your vehicle windows..you know what I am talking about?
  14. yes it is vehicle specific. got it off egay. Tinted Tailight link
  15. yea..it will peel off..and you can re-apply it anytime.. its not the best flm I have ever seen, but its not the most expensive either. I had some on my wifes IS300 that was a blue color..it was really thick..(it had a purpose) and it laid down better then this does.. I am gonna take it off Sat. and reapply it..I couldn't get all the wrinkles out and it was getting dark.
  16. I am pissed...I took like 10 pics just now..its dusk..came upstairs and hardly any over them turned out..i don't know WTF was up with my camera..but here they are anyways. here is a picture of the truck in the advertisement now more of my shitty pics
  17. yea..what did they change on the headrest....grace us with a photo please
  18. yea.. the pictures do them no justice..I will take a better one later today when my wife gets home.
  19. sounds like a nice vehicle, congrats. is it just me or isnt LOADED be with EVERY OPTION? like navi and 20's?
  20. I found these online..just some 3m film..like the rock guard for the front end of vehicles..I like the way it looks..just thought I would share. really really crappy camera phone..didn't feel like walking back upstairs LOL before: after:
  21. same thing here..but the attachments work on the other post
  22. gotcha..is 5k considered 'broken in' now..or is it 10k? you averaged 78..did you reset that once you set the cruise on the interstate(assuming cruise was used) if so that means you were going about 80-83 give or take..so 21.9 isnt bad at all.
  23. 21.9 isnt bad mileage..how many miles on on the vehicle total?
