  1. Outside temp was moved to the Drivers right panel. I know, bummer but it is there...
  2. Updated my vehicle last evening. Install went well; took roughly 40 minutes. Fiddled with the new screens for about 15 minutes before heading inside for the night. This morning, Sync came right up, phone connected very quickly. Overall I was pleased and the morning looked promising. About 10 mins into my commute, I called my wife and I hit my first speed-bump. The phone was connected to SYNC. I have an iPhone 4S. I was even able to stream Pandora from the phone last night but did not think to make a test call. The phone would dial, but no sound. When turning up the Volume control up, I noticed it did not say Phone and when I hit END on the screen the audio volume was blasting. Once I got parked at work I tried a Master Reset, same results. The phone will dial but no phone audio. This worked fine with 2.11. The first time I did try a call this morning SYNC hung for about 30 seconds. No voice and I was not able to hit any Entertainment buttons. Anyway, I will call SYNC support this morning and see what they recommend. I am a little disappointed as it looked really promising. 2.11 was pretty stable for me. I had my share of Black Screens, but I was accustomed to seeing them and knew what to do. I will post any info that I get from Ford Support or anything from the course of my troubleshooting. Regards to all.
  3. iPhone 4S Sprint here and contact photos never worked. Didn't expect them to based on Ford's documentation. BT pairing and phone quality though has been a non-issue for me. Pairs every time and call quality is reported to be acceptable. One note about pairing, for what it's worth. When I first got the 4S, I experienced a few issues getting the phone to pair with Sync. After troubleshooting, I found that if WiFi was on and was connected to a signal, BT pairing did not work. I started making sure I had WiFi off when in the Edge, and my 4S pairs every time without fail
  4. I have had my Edge since July of this year. I travel 80 miles round trip M-F for work and all but 8 of that is State Hwy. Even with the very hot Summer, my average fuel economy comes in at 23.6. I use Cruise control and pretty much keep it at the speed limit and keep the Climate on Auto. So far, considering the size & weight of the Edge, I am pleased with the fuel economy. And I can't drive 85!
  5. Very pithy Dingo. You ever thought about writing for SNL?
  6. I have a 2011 Edge, that to date has been pretty much trouble free. I purchased the vehicle in July. This past weekend we have seen our first minor cold spell. The car sat idle all day Saturday and Sunday when I got in, the door chime sounded as usual, but now it has an awful...buzz (is the only thing I can think of to describe) when it sounds. The turn signal (which I think is a tad loud anyway) also now has this buzz. Am I correct that a single unit performs both of these sound functions? I plan to take it in to the dealer on a weekend when I have some time, but was wondering if anyone else had run into this. Maybe the cold air caused some kind of diaphragm damage. Who knows, but any thoughts would be appreciated. Rick
  7. Good news. Was finally able to get the 2.11 update to complete. Called tech team one last time & spoke with an analyst by the name of Brian. Very sharp tech and helpful. He had me pull Fuse 29 for 5 minutes. Then restart vehicle and perform a Master Reset, followed by starting the update. It took about 70 minutes, but it was successful this time. I then reported the install and the site now shows my Edge at v2.11. Will see how performance is on the way home today, but for now it's back to work. Enough play-time this morning.
  8. i did perform a separate download for each USB drive that I tried. I too thought the same thing, but I downloaded the file using two different PC's among the four USB sticks... You are correct though, I do know how to back out and am not losing anything but time.
  9. Well, wish I could report more positive news, but after multiple attempts using not one, not two, not three, but four USB drives, I am still getting the same results. The process hangs at the same place every single time. I went and bought a brand new USB drive that had an LED so I could watch drive activity. When the update got to 6 out of 9 files. there was activity for a few minutes then nothing. I guess I am not going to get this update done, and I am not really of the mind to let the dealer have it just to perform this update. I really thought this would be a very straight forward process, but I must have a problem child. Fortunately, version 2.8 has not given me many issues so I will just stay happy with this for now. I am putting a couple screen shots below in case anyone has an idea. Please feel free to post, I am more than willing to try something. Regards!
  10. After waiting an 50 minutes and still no progress I called the Tech Team. The analyst I spoke with said they had a few reports of this happening. He had me back out of the update, and then perform a Master Reset. After chatting with the analyst, I am wondering if maybe a hidden file on my usb stick could be causing the issue. I am trying to go from 2.8 to 2.11. I did try the update a second time with the exact results: stopping at file 6 of 9. Anyway, I have several other thumb drives so I will grab some coffee and give it another shot this morning. Cheers!
  11. Well, I am running the 2.11 update right now. To me it seems hung at 6 of 9 files, but I am giving it at least the 45 mins before I toss in the towel and try later. No error messages, just waiting for it to get past the BT4T-14F497-AP.ZIP file. Will update later.
  12. I am a new Edge owner and new to the forum. You brought up one of the items I also noticed when driving my new toy off the lot...where to place the EVO. For the first couple days, I just put it in the console, but I am still looking for a mount of some kind. I found a few online and am still kicking around which to purchase. In the meanwhile, I found one of those "tacky" pads at Best Buy for $5.00. It works much better than I expected. I just pop the phone on the mat which is in the center of the dash. I really am surprised that the phone stays put. Of course if I had to stomp on the brakes the phone would probably shoot right through the windscreen. This is only temporary, but works surprisingly well until I decide on the permanent mount. Eric
