I had the same "problem" thought my car is on his way, but it was still in NYC. At this time I did some google research and found the vessel which finally was the right one. You can follow the ships at vesseltracker.com.

Btw: which company/dealer in Germany takes care for your Edge? I still have difficulties to get the approval for the 18" OEM wheels for my Sport because it comes with 22" wheels and no one can provide me any technical details about the wheels. I already contacted Ford US and set them the part numbers of the wheels. The only thing they replied was that it seems the wheels are made for the 2010 model not for my one. You can buy 22" winter tires, but you will pay a lot. Do you have winter wheels for your Edge? :-)

I just found this topic and I am surprised. What's the difference between the 2011 Sport and the 2013 Sport!? I double checked the Ford website and didn't get it.

Regarding the head lamps. Yes, you're right. I was told that due to missing adjustments for HID they install something on the rear axel to adjust the level....

1. Is the MyFord Touch system settable to german language and german voice commands?

 

2. Are there other Digital Maps avaible for the navigation system (i would prefer Europe especially Germany )

 

3. Do the HID Headlights have a headlamp range adjustment (man./auto) for times the car is loaded

 

5. Is the AV-Input only avaible with tranni set to "Park" (this would be the alternative solution with an external Navigation Box, if i´m not able to use the stock one in Europe)

1. no, no German available.

2. Your Edge will come with maps for north america. In a couple of weeks almost all of us expect an update of the MFT system. This will come with new maps as well. I guess this software will also be used when Ford introduces MFT in Europe mid 2012 in the Focus. I hope that maps for Europe will be available at this time.

3. As far as I know, the modification of your Edge will take longer to fit German regulations. I think a level adjustment system will be added to your rear axle.

5. The AV only works in "P" mode by default.

There is a fix for this it is a oasis tsb 11 11 15. It involves putting oil restrictors into the camshaft on the cylinder head closest to the front of the vehicle.

 

It raises the oil pressure to eliminate the ticking.

 

Repair kit # AT4Z - 6A296 - A . Just had it done and it fixed the problem, I can't beleive that so many people have viewed this post and no one had any answers it has been over a year.

My wife made the decision for the 2011 Sport, because of the interior and the size of the car. I only added the BLIS and AWD. Used European cars are to expensive even in Germany, so we took the Edge and imported it. It seems that we are the only ones in the greater Munich area who owns a Edge. It is very unique over here and we get a tons of compliments. Our 5 months old little man loves the sun/moon roof. :-)

I am working for a international automotive supplier in the engine system division (we develop engine control units). Today my colleague asked me if I drive a diesel engine. The knocking sounds like typical diesel engine. He assumes misfire. I did not hear it from inside. (side note: outside temp.: 19F; gas: 95ROZ/85MOZ)

I stopped playing with the WiFi hotspot in the Edge. It seems my BT problems disappeared.

I think under special conditions it works well. I do nat have big trouble, but I also had some issues with BT and black screens.

I am a 2011 Sport AWD owner (3.7l engine) and I am driving the Edge with 19-21mpg (with 22" wheels) and 21-23mpg (with 18" wheels). Its a city/highway mix around Munich, Germany. On the German Autobahn I am driving 70mph up to 90mph ...

I think the Ecoboost could be much better.

I asked my dealer to sell me 18" OEM rims for my 2011 Sport. I needed more technical details and contacted the Ford customer center. Here's the answer:

As your vehicle came with 22" wheels, we would not be able to advise of any modification or changes to your vehicle. I would like to inform you that I have escalated this matter to our Technical Subject Matter Expert and based on those parts numbers, I was informed that they are for older model year Edge (2007 - 2010). Technically, it is not designed for 2011 model.

Well, currently I am using the (wrong) 18" rims and I am surprised that those rims fit on my 2011 Sport.

What do you think about this?

Our average is 20 MPG with the 22" wheels 50% city and 50% highway mix. We change to 18" winter wheels yesterday and maybe it will become better.

Here's the feedback I got at syncmyride.com:

You completed the install, but your online status was not updated yet. If you clear your browser cache and check your version again it should say 2.11. Since you were already updated and you tried to run the update again you got the "Bad installation File" error. This is normal but not very informative, and will be improved with the next update.

Look's like everything is fine.

Thx for the advice. I will wait for the big update because v2.8 is ok for me. I submitted an address in the U.S. and hope Ford will send me the USB drive to this address. :-)

I downloaded v2.11 and tried to install it. I reported the result on syncmyride.com and noticed that v2.11 was uninstalled and v2.8 was restored. So I downloaded v2.11 again to my USB stick and tried again. Now the system says "Bad Installation File, One or more of the files being installed on your system did not install successfully." What does it mean? I did a master reset via MFT, but the same message again.

Currently installed SW version is 4.23.11134_PRODUCT

What can I do to install v2.11?

I like the announcement about the performance upgrade and I hope I can download it from syncmyride.com. Btw I have a question regarding the SD card. My 2011 Sport has the navigation system installed but it came without a SD card. Currently I am not able to enter the navigation menu or use the compass. In 2012 MFT will be launched in Europe. Does anyone know if Ford will offer a SD card for Europe?

Sometimes no, but it always work with the second finger tip. I don't see any problem in this. What I realized is, that while indexing a USB device, the system responses not that good. Maybe the CPU load is to high to provide to recognize finger tips and do indexing at the same time. In general I am fine with v2.8 of the MFT software. But I will update to v2.11. Hopefully it will work afterwards. :-)

I drove a 2003 Mercedes CLK with HID's for the last 8 years and I thought I will be disappointed with the 2011 Ford Edge Sport, but the standards beams are ok for me. Btw installing US HIDs and using them on public roads in Germany would require additional modifications to fit German regulations. :-( I have to wait for a DV (green card) to move to the US and bring the Edge with me. Then I can also upgrade to HIDs.....

I am already reading this forum since July. This week my 2011 Ford Edge Sport AWD arrived in Munich. It is fun to drive this car here, because no one knows the car. Every day someone asks me what kind of car this is. ("Is this the new Ford?") :-) Well, to attach the license plates I drove to a Ford dealer next to me and asked for help. You see that I have have license plates on both ends of the car in Germany. Again, every one was looking at the Edge when I arrived. I explained, that this is a Ford and I am here at a Ford dealer, so what's the matter? :-) After two days of driving (city and German Autobahn) I got 22mpg.

I can't wait for tomorrow, because we will do a road trip to Leipzig (a City in east Germany) and Berlin.

Hi folks,

I placed my order for a 2011 Ford Edge Sport AWD end of June 2011. The right car was found quickly in PA, but the shipping to Germany and all the additional things are frustrating. It started with the title, which took me 6 weeks to get it. Now the car arrived one week ago in Germany, but it still didn't passed German customs. I don't believe that it will happen this year. If I could, I would cancel my order and buy a f**king European car. I almost know all the articles and youtube videos about the Edge, and I am ready for it's delivery. I even got a US phone number to register myself at syncmyride .... that makes me so angry.
