  1. I put pictures in this thread, I'd have to look at my wiring again to know for sure, I jsut did some trial an error until it worked haha. One thing to key in on is that the ballasts actually have a little +/- sign, and the plug that connects need to line up with the correct +/-. Just make sure the black cable is matched with the (-). Its hard to see at first but you'll get it. By blue and black wires I'm assuming you mean the bare wires? Those you need to plug into the adapter caps (best description I can give) that come in the kit. They are in a bag, just push the blue/black wires into the adapter. I'll try and take more pictures tonight. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/8343-hids-installed-in-2011-limited/page__pid__66708#entry66708
  2. I have a 2011 SEL w/ sync, no NAV, and it came with a back up camera.....there are aftermarket ones, someone will chime in.
  3. Mine do as well, I got the 6000k, i had 8000k on my Fusion and it was too blue/purple. Really terrible in first/last light of the day.
  4. ]I didn't want to take out a bunch of stuff in the engine compartment to conceal my ballasts so I just mounted them in an easy location. All wires are out of the way of moving parts, nothing bounces, everything works perfect. Installed a retrosolutions kit, took about 40 min b/c the stock light broke off in the housing!! PITA!!
  5. Yet, holes are cut out for the reverse lights haha, go like the other guy did. Dismantle everything and paint the inside, thats dedication and true customization.
  6. I used the 55W 6000k kit from retro solutions, everything fit fine, just a little difficult at times to figure out the wiring, not really electrically savvy. All worked out though.
  7. Update: Got everything wired in and drove in this morning to work, everything is done, I just need to drill holes in the back of the bulb housing caps to flush the rubber gromit in. Range of light looks good, haven't seen them in the actual dark yet, just dusk. I ended up braking the damn bulb off the factory light and it fell into the bulb housing...... NIGHTMARE to get out!!! Took 45 mins to get the stupid thing out. Found easy places to mount the ballasts (post pics later today), they're just under the hood but away from all moving parts etc. The lights look great, and seem to be showing a good pattern. Like I said it needs to be dark to tell for sure.
  8. Ugh....its all mounted and in....I just need to drill out the back of the bulb housing caps.....hopefully it doesn't rain tomorrow. Don't have any bits at home to drill the holes.
  9. I'm halfway through my HID install and the stupid driver side bulb won't come out! Help! I got the harness off while it was still connected to the bulb....no matter what way I turn the bulb it won't give!
  10. Saw you driving yesterday, I like the color of your edge. Whats the plate meant...?

  11. ON THE......OVR THE..... CLZ 2 (Close too).....RDN THE.......list goes on.
  12. Got my hitch installed yesterday, ran $500 from an aftermarket source, not cutting of the bumper needed, and still sits high enough off the ground. My edge didn't have a plug n play for the wiring harness so they had to hard wire it. All in all I'm happy, post pics later.
  13. Just gave mine a good washing a a quick blast with the quick detailer, looks freakin' awesome, post pics later. Does smell good too!
  14. got these in the digital 55W, 6k color http://www.retrosolutionsllc.com/servlet/the-481/DIGITAL-HID-XENON-CONVERSION/Detail
  15. Agreed, I drive a lot to Kenai though, so when its dark I want to be able to see wider and farther than the OEM lights, but yes they are pretty bright to begin with. I had 10k on my 08 fusion, had a hint of purple, going with the 6k for the edge. Ordering my kit as we speak. Post pictues in a week or so after they get here and are installed. thanks for the replies.
  16. Sort of the same train of thought I had, I'll stick with the standard HID kit. Its dark in AK, had to ask, brighter is better!
  17. Can someone explain the importance/difference when selecting bulb wattage for aftermarket HID kits. Standard bulbs on a 2011 SEL Edge are 35W correct? Why wouldn't you want to get 100W HID bulb kit? Too hot to run? Draw to much power? Tried searching the forum to no avail. Thanks.
  18. So far so good! except the damn trailer hitch is on back order so I just ordered an aftermarket one. Sort of wish I'd gone Limited instead of SEL but oh well. $34,000 was steep for an SEL.

  19. Got my Nushield, awesome and easy install works great, also I noticed if you turn the dimmer all th way down on the screen it looks better too.
  20. 2000 Miles in and I'm sitting between 20.6 - 21 mpg. Thats milking it too, cruise control as much as possible and not stomping on the pedal, window sticker claimed 18-25.
