  1. Do a google search for loan calculators to help calculate actual overall cost. For example: (please correct me if I have miscalculated) If you finance $32,000 through Ford at 0% you would be better off than taking the $3000 rebate and financing $29,000 at anything higher than 3.9% Total payments on $32K at 0% would be of course $32,000. Total on $29K at 4% would be $32044.80 Total on $29K at 5% would be $32836.20 So, depending on what interest rate you can get elsewhere, you may be paying more by taking the $3000 rebate and not financing through Ford. I have not figured in any bank loan fees, or other rebates that you may be eligible for. Your monthly payment for 5 years for an interest rate of 5.00% on a loan amount of $ 29000.00 will be: $ 547.27 per month Your monthly payment for 5 years for an interest rate of 4.00% on a loan amount of $ 29000.00 will be: $ 534.08 per month Your monthly payment for 5 years for an interest rate of 0.00% on a loan amount of $ 32000.00 will be: $ 533.33 per month Hope this helps.
  2. Could be - that would mean the speaker cable runs from the head unit to the door speaker, then from the door speaker to the A pillar tweeter. Can anyone verify this? Thanks
  3. Pulled one of the OEM front door speakers from my '09 Edge Limited with Sony NAV and factory sub woofer. There are two sets of cables running to the speaker - looks like a cable for lows, and a cable for highs. My question is this: What procedure do I use to connect a 'normal' speaker with only one cable connection? I picked up a set of the Metra 72-5600 wiring harnesses, but only one of the connections will accept that harness, the other is different. Crutchfield's info is wrong - they didn't even know that the '09s had SONY instead of Pioneer. Any help???
  4. UPDATE: 2 hour trip on Interstate with cruise on 75MPH computer showed 26.4. 22 mile trip at night (55 degrees outside) cruise set on 58MPH - computer showed consistent 29.9.
  5. My '09 FWD with 1,100 miles has been averaging 21.1 according to the computer (mostly driving short trips around town under 3 miles at a time). Today I filled up, drove an 89 mile round trip with cruise set on 60MPH. Computer showed 27.1 so I filled back up to double check manually and came up with 26.7 I am light on the pedal, and let off earlier than most drivers when coming to stops.
  6. My local dealer received a cinnamon edge that had black handles on three of the doors, and a chrome handle on the driver's door. How's that for quality control?
  7. Photos are from the link in the first post. Their site is very slow, so maybe your browser is timing out. I edited my post and added the other two color photos. Blue, brilliant silver, ebony, redfire, sport blue, and prime (I would call it primed, but the site says prime.
  8. Here are the images - look more like photoshop than actual photo. Colors available are: Blue, brilliant silver, ebony, redfire, sport blue, and prime (I would call it primed, but the site says prime. Info From the site: Give your Edge a contemporary monochrome look with a body-colored Grille Insert. Available pre-painted in select popular colors or primed and ready for paint. Dealer installation recommended.
  9. I just saw on the ford accessory site that they now offer primed and painted grille inserts for the Edge. Didn't see a price, but looks nice. http://www.fordaccessoriesstore.com/GfaWeb...09~9T4Z_8200_AD
  10. I agree - Sirius sounds terrible. I had XM for the last four years and am convinced that XM is much more compressed today than it was three years ago. XM sounds terrible and so does Sirius. The FM in my Edge sounds noticeably better than the Sirius. If it wasn't for the variety of programming, I would not keep it.
  11. I can hear a high-pitched noise. At first I thought it was electronics noise from the audio system, but the noise persists with the audio system off and car stationary. I only notice it when all is quite, as soon as I get going down the road, or turn the audio up, I no longer notice it.
  12. I don't believe that for a minute. I listened to the system in a new edge and the pillar mounted speakers add a fuller sound. I never liked speakers bouncing off the windshield - never cared for the deflected sound - rather have direct sound from the highs. If the speakers cancel each other out because they face each other, I guess the door panel speakers cancel each other out also since they face each other. So there would be no sound at all????
  13. Not sure if burnt tail lights is the issue, but an MKX caught on fire as it was being driven down the road in Georgia. Fire started from the rear. Go to http://www.walb.com/ and look for "Driver thanks rescuers after surviving burning car" under news headlines or check the video section. I'll post back if I find more info.
  14. I'm thinking the Nav is on DVD, based on this info from an adobe copy of the Sony Nav manual. ORDERING MAP, NAVIGATION SOFTWARE AND GRACENOTE UPDATE DVDS If you wish to order a replacement or additional map, or an updated DVD, please contact Ford Customer Service. JUKEBOX Your mobile media navigation system has a Jukebox which allows you to save desired tracks or CDs to the hard drive for later access. The hard drive can store up to 10 GB* (164 hours; approximately 2,472 tracks) of music. The system contains a Gracenote media database that allows for display of song title, album title, and album cover art. After saving music to the hard drive, you can access and play your music by specific tracks, artists, albums or genres. You can even choose to create and access your own playlists.
  15. According to the phone calls my Ford sales manager made today, Ford does NOT offer a backup camera for the Edge. Even though the Sony NAV has the capability, they said no camera was available.
  16. Does anyone know if the 2008 or 2009 Edge remote start option includes a 'start' button on the fob built into the key, or if there is a secondary key fob. If there is a secondary fob, does it replace the fob that is built onto the key (and if so, does the key still have the built in fob)? Thanks
  17. I asked the same question at my local Ford dealership. He called his installer and was told that the antenna would work with after-market audio. I have no definitive proof, just what his installer told us.
