  1. The package arrived on Monday and was successfully installed on Tuesday - so far so good, I think it took longer to register/verify installation with the Ford Syncmyride website then the actual installation took.
  2. I used the "moulded" #2 units from Canadian Tire, they are in the automotive section with the rest of the flaps , I believe there are several versions and the "#2" fits best - they look pretty good and resemble the back flares. You can use the existing screws with them also.
  3. (4) - 225/18/50 Hankook performance winter tires only (no rims) , driven less than 2000 kms. Came off Cadillac CTS - $600.00 FIRM - Local pickup only in southwestern Ontario (London region) - will not ship * these are a low profile tire and may or may not be suitable for an Edge.
  4. It's your ride and your choice - I vote for # 3 - I don't have much experience with the big diameter wheels but I would think the 20's would ride better but I'm all for filling up fender space with rubber too, find a friend with photoshop and try some different setups (there are lots of sites similar to this for ideas- http://www.vrimz.com/ )
  5. I have been told by several tire dealers to try the BFG slalom series winter tires ( I have always had good luck with BFG in the past also) They seem to be priced reasonalbly , the parent company of BFG is Michelin tires.
  6. Everything installed - a little less than $1500, The O.E. rims and sensors were part of a winter tire package and cost a bit more than generic aluminum rims - they do look a lot better, and using the black painted steel wheels is not something I could live with for 4 or 5 months of the year. The price was competitive with several other major tire suppliers in the area. Before we purchased the vehicle we decided to go this route instead of AWD (there are benefits to both options but this suited us best)
  7. I have just ordered a set of 17 inch winter tires and rims from the local Ford dealership, our SEL came with 18 inch 245/60 tires. I went with 245/65 series 17" on a set of Ford SE rims for the winter months - The taller tire gives me the same OD as the 18's at a better price (both rims and tires) . The rims I ordered are the standard aluminum for the base model Edge, allowing me to keep my 18" michelins and rims intact. (Dealership had a deal on seasonal tire and rim packages). The tires specified are BFG winter slalom - recommended by several tire shops in the area.
  8. We have recently purchased a 2011 Edge after years of dedicated GM ownership - ( I think they are basically all the same but) ...... We traded our Trailblazer LTZ in on a loaded up SEL and I am impressed so far with the product, only time will tell. I also have traded my GM pickup for a VW Jetta diesel but refuse to give up my old Z/28 for now. Some change is good right ?
