I tried disconnecting the positive battery cable and resetting everything and still no luck. I have to say I am feeling a little bit better about the situation though. I called Lincoln today and told them how very disappointed and frustrated I was. They are mailing out a check to me in the amount of 1 months payment ($500+) to make me feel a little better about the situation. I was really surprised about this. They must know how bad they have messed things up with letting these broken computers be installed in our vehicles.

Its just so frustrating. Why the heck would they make them with plastic and then make it so they couldn't be repaired. It only makes sense that you would be able to pop the old one off and put a new one on. Why use plastic? Anyway, I called my insurance and they said I could make a claim under my collision and just pay my $200 deductible. Not sure if I want to do it though because my record is clean as I have never made a claim. And whats to say that after I fix it, I make the same stupid mistake. What REALLY got to me was the saleperson I purchased the vehicle from kinda mocked me saying I should have spent the $500 and got their wheel protection plan. I thought it was only for flats. He just told me that any damage to the wheel is covered and they will replace it. Now im super pissed.

Today I made the wonderful mistake of getting too close to the curb and I slowly scraped my wheel. I have the 2012 MKX with the upgraded 20" wheels. I rubbed up just enough to completely crack the plastic off on the edge. No damage done to the actual wheel itself and the tire could just be cleaned off. I called my dealer to find out what it would cost me to get the plastic chrome replaced as it looks like its something that can just be pulled off and a new one put on. They told me that they dont do that and I would have to pay around $1100 including labor to get an entirely new wheel. Are you kidding me? Is this true? Does anyone have any experience with this? Why would they make a fake chrome plastic cover on these wheels if they cant be replaced? What is the object of it? Please someone tell me the dealer is incorrect. This MKX is only 4 months old and I can't drive it around looking like this. I also dont have $1100 to spend. If these wheels were actual chromed metal then I could just polish it out and hide the damage. Unfortunately its plastic and I can't. First Im dealing with the MFT issues. Now this

I agree 100%! This system is total F-ing crap! I am so disappointed. The dealer lied. The commercial lies. I should have went with my instinct and not purchased a broken piece of American junk. Sell a product that works! I am so disappointed. This fix better be something amazing.

In November of last year I purchased my first ever Lincoln and fell in love with my 2012 MKX. I love everything about the car BUT the darn MFT/Navi/BLUETOOTH experience. It really bothers me that Ford would release a system with so many bugs. I know the update is coming out but this just isnt fair. I spent $50,000+ on this vehicle and I can't even trust it. Some days my Navi will give me "SD Card" errors and just stop working. Sometimes everything on my screen will disappear. Some days it takes a good 20 minutes for it to load up. A few weeks ago I planned to do some traveling and 1/4 through the trip the navi stopped working completely and I had to rely on my cell phone to find where I was going. The touch screen is very slow and sometimes non responsive. Also having issues with the climate control. Dont know why hot air will come out of one vent and cold out of the other when I am trying to heat my car up. The bluetooth just sucks as no one can ever hear me and they always complain of a high pitched winding noise that apparently moves according to if I am accelerating or not. Plenty of other problems but I just dont want to waste any more time bitching about the low quality of the system in this "luxury" car I purchased... Really really really disappointed.

I have a 2012 MKX and have the same problem with the cold air coming out. I thought I was going crazy until I read your post here. I've had the car for 2 months now. I need to make an appointment to check it out. Ive also had a problem with MFT. Sometimes the navi wont load and none of my radio presets show up anymore.

I havent been able to take any good pictures yet. The 2nd and 3rd pics are of the FWD version at the dealer. The 1st pic is my AWD. I got everything except the cruise control option. I am really happy with this and love all the looks I get while driving it

So happy! After owning 4 Honda Accords I finally made my move to my first Luxury AWD American vehicle. This thing is just awesome! I love the way the red looks in the sun and at night.

Thanks for the advice folks. I have really become addicted to the Edge and I want one badly. Just waiting for the right deal. I like the look of the Edge better than the Lincoln. Was considering the GMC Acadia too as they are offering 0% financing for 72 months but I really want the Edge more.

So I was going to lease a 2012 Edge but my dealer was telling me that Ford is trying to really reach a certain number with Lincolns and are running some crazy incentives this month which are changing every week. This week you can get into a $48000 MKS for $499 a month. He was telling me that in 2 weeks I will be able to get a fully loaded MKX for the same price most likely. So, would you hold off and get the MKX over the Edge if its the same price? I am thinking I will but wanted to get opinions from you folks. I would think its a no brainer but appreciate your comments.

Thanks for the info! I definitely want the MFT. What kind of issues are there? I am slowly going through the forums and picking up things here and there. As for the AWD, well I still am on the fence. Yes I have gotten by without it all these years but it would be nice to have. Looks like a fun vehicle to drive, especially with the sunroof. I am upside down on my current car which means I owe more than its worth thanks to someone hitting it a few months ago so I have to add $3000 to the price of my lease (car is worth 10k and I owe 3k). Depending on my options with 2k down im looking at a payment between $500 and $550 a month for a lease.

Hi folks, Just stumbled upon this forum and am glad I did. I am considering leasing a 2011 Edge. Is there anything I should know or consider? I am considering the 2011 over the 2012 for payment reasons. I am trying to decide if I want a FWD or AWD. I live in Philly and we do get our fair share of snow but I have been driving FWD Honda Accords all my life and have never had an issue. Also debating on getting the Panoramic moon roof. I was looking at the SEL version with the 202A package. Anything else I should know about the 2011 Edges? Would love any advice or suggestions! Thanks! Ant
