  1. You can get better than your 25.57 mpg if you put more than 35 psi in your tires (234 kpa). The 18 inch tires have held up very well for me and I get advertised mpg or better with 40 psi (276 kpa). So far that is the only factor that I have seen greatly affect fuel consumption. Safety of this, and tire warranty affects must be determined by the owner / driver. I have 9800 miles on my Edge.
  2. I have done a 650 mile trip from Michigan to Tennessee. Flat and hills, 30 MPG down and averaged 31 MPG on the return leg. Cruise set at 70 MPH (65 in Ohio). That's resetting the MPG gauge at depart and checking the reading when we got home. I consistently show an average MPG above 25. My secret to impart to you is to put 40 psi in your tires. 35 psi makes a difference in MPG. Enough to be disappointing. My tires were at 40 psi when I drove out of the dealership. I checked. I have the 18" wheels. The tires are rated for up to 44 PSI cold. I also have black soot in the exhaust and used a quart of oil in 2500 miles. I am hoping that doesn't repeat. 9800 miles on the odometer.
  3. I have had vent shades on my cars in the past and think they cut down wind noise alot, and were nice looking as well. I have not seen an Edge with them on it yet. Just wondering if anyone has them or has an opinion on them. How well they work, or how they look.
  4. What a nice ride this Edge is. We really like this Ecoboost. Got the white SEL with sunroof. Only one thing spooked me a bit. I looked around under the hood and noticed that the power steering reservoir cap was missing. Just a freak thing I imagine, but we should always look a new car over real well. SYNC is behaving and working perfectly for us, and our mileage is averaging 22+ around town.

    nitrogen

Costco includes nitrogen when you buy a new set of tires from them. After about 5 years I noticed that my tire pressures seemed to be much more stable with nitrogen in them. I would check pressure between tire rotation and never felt the need to have any nitrogen added. So I would say, from my experience, that nitrogen is a good thing, but $10 a tire is way too much to pay for it.
  6. I used to use Raindance paste. The last few years I have used Meguire'sGold, and spray detailer. I use it because it is easy and works really well. There may be better products out there, but I haven't felt the need to try one of them yet. So, what would get me to try something new? Well I tried Meguire's because I got a free sample of it at a car show. That is probably the best, and quickest way to get me to try a new product.
  7. I saw this LED kit yesterday. Don't know anything about it, so I can't endorse it, but it may be what Jochounok is talking about. http://www.ebay.com/...#ht_1375wt_1344
  8. We are picking up our white platinum w/med. stone SEL Friday. From what I've read, taking classes might be good idea. Can't wait to get started. This Forum is a great idea. Excellent resource.
