"1. When accelerating slowly (rpm peaking at 3,000) I notice that when shifting from 4th to 5th gear at about 40 mph I hear a slight vacuum sucking “whoosh” noise. This noise coincides with a quick rpm over-travel from about 2200 to 2700 after which the transmission shifts into 5th. During this “whoosh” and over-travel there is a drop in power and the vehicle hesitates (no increase in mph with the rising rpm)."
I have this same thing happen to me...my car has 70K on it now (which means the warranty is up). Did you ever find out the solution? Sometimes the tranny clunks, but not very often.
I should've purchased an ESW, but I might trade it in.
