  1. My BMW lets you open the back doors without having the driver unlock it. Any other car I've been in had the lock feature on the passenger side door, so the passenger could unlock it themselves. In regards to the remote. I wasn't referring to actually clicking on it. Sorry, I was referring to when you walk up to the door with the key in your hands or pocket. The door unlocks automatically once the remote is within close enough range of the door. The dealer went over some of the things. But nothing having to do with passengers being trapped inside the back of the car unless you unlock the doors. The Edge is very quirky sometimes, especially with all the technology. I (as many others) encounter endless glitches and weird things which happen. That's an different topic though
  2. Leatherique works great. It can be a tedious process if your seats are really dirty. However, its fairly simple if you apply the protection part of it from day one. http://www.leatherique.com/
  3. Greetings, My edge has the plastic cargo mat from Ford. Can anyone suggest something to use or do to prevent items from sliding around on it? All the trunk organizers used to hold items, come with velcro on the bottom but it only works if you are using the carpet liner in the trunk. I can remove the plastic one but I find it offers more protection for the back than exposing the carpet. Downside is everything slides. I was considering purchasing a non slip waterproof mat from Amazon which can be placed on top of the plastic. However, I'm not sure if it will look ghetto or not. Has anyone found a way to prevent items from slipping around? Thanks
  4. I dont mind the autolock, but I dont like having to unlock the back doors or constantly tell passengers in the back seat they have to unlock the door so they can get out. Not something I will lose sleep over but it is annoying. I did notice sometimes the remote key will automatically unlock all the doors as it should when I walk up to the car, but on few occassions it has only unlocked my door. Thus, forcing me to manually unlock all doors. Today it has beentemperamental. I've had to unlock the drivers side door via the unlock button on the keyless entry remote at least 4 times today. First, time that has happened. It is odd the lock settings can't be accessed via the touch screen where other settings are located.
  5. Thank you! I will have a look when I go outside in a bit. Hopefully the 2012 has the same option. I swear I didn't see that lol. Appreciate the help!
  6. Thanks for your response. I didn't see an option in regards to the doors locking at a certain speed. I have to check again but believe I looked everywhere under settings. Pulling up the lock works in regards to opening the back. I realized over the weekend after having family in the back everyone was use to simply opening the handle and having the doors open even if it was locked. oh well, no big deal, just a tad annoying
  7. Can someone correct me if I'm wrong, is there no way for someone sitting in the back of an Edge to open their door if it isn't unlocked? Seems very odd to me as most cars you can open the door if it is locked. The door would unlock automatically when the handle is triggered. Also, I've noticed none of the doors lock automatically when the car is started and put in motion? Sorry for the dumb questions. I just realized these things on my 2012 Ford Edge (Limited). They seem like common features on other cars I've driven or been in.
  8. two great products you can use Optimum Metal Polish Blackfire Wet Diamond All Metal Sealant I normally apply OMP first then Blackfire. Blackfire protects while OMP cleans and provides some protection.
