  1. From what my dealer told me, and I hope it's not a lie to complete the sale with me, He said it usually takes 3-4,000 km's for the car to 'break in' and you'll get the best mileage starting at the 8-10,000 km mark.
  2. Plan on doing this! I prefer the Type 2, I think it'd be easier to distinguish from amber and nothing during a turn. Also, since I don't have the car yet, can someone lay out how the light combinations work? What light modes are there, and which ones are turned on when a certain option is selected?
  3. I want to install HID's also, I just ordered a 2013 Limited, but didn't want to spend $600 for the HIDs. I want to convert my lights to HID also, and I don't want to go through wiring or whatever since you guys say it's too bright. I'll go with something lower, so does that mean all I need is the bulbs, is it an easy DIY? I've never done really any work on a car, I always get it done. Norm, I think the daytime running lights are the vertical ones/fog lights on the Edge.
  4. Hey, so today I placed an order on the 2013 Ford Edge Limited, FWD w/ 2L EcoBoost. Got it in Platinum White w/ all Black interior. I got nearly every option available, and since I'm from Canada, these might be different: - 301A (Includes all 300A, Vision Package, Driver's Entry Package) - Canadian Touring Package (Panoramic Roof, Voice-activated Navigation) - I stuck with the 18" Chrome Rims Only thing I didn't get was the HID's, but I suppose I could change them out later. PS. We need a 2013 Section!!
  5. How come for the 2013 Edge Ecoboost in Canada, it lists 28MPG city and 43 MPG highway? It's right here: http://www.ford.ca/app/en/fo/year/2012/vehicle/edge.html
  6. What do you mean by this? I have the brochure, but if I order it they should send me some sort of voucher along with it? If I purchase it in a couple of days (order it), and receive the voucher later, can I use it still?
  7. Hi. I'm putting an order on a 2013 Edge. I was originally set on Limited, but I'm back to debating now. For the Limited with all my options (I'll save you time by not stating all of them), it would be a $48,500 MSRP For the SEL with a little less options (still satisfies my needs), it would be a $46,000 MSRP Now that means I'm paying $2,500 more for the Limited. Here is what I get EXTRA w/ the Limited: - 18" Chrome wheels instead of alloy - SONY Premium sound system - Wood trim, Piano black dash - Vision Package (blind spot, rain-sensing wipers) - LED Turn Signal Indicators on mirrors - Limited Badge, silver trim under windows, break-resistant glass (not large) Is there anything else? Even the little things? So, is the $2,500 worth all of that? To me, only the SONY sound system, vision package, and Turn signals on mirrors are good upgrades to have, of course not mandatory..I really want the SONY though..
  8. I see.. So it takes '3' years to get back the money you paid for the EB compared to the V6 right? Are both engines constructed similarly, both being reliable and built to last? I know the current generation just came out 2 years ago and it might be hard to answer that, but has it been promising for you/others that you know (or read about) ? Edit: Just did a quick calculation, and according to that, 3 years seems right versus the V6.
  9. ^ Thank you for that. But the EB experiences related to the highway, where people said it was horrible. I don't assume they floored it on the highway, so that's what I am worried about. Do you know what MPG these people got on the highway, and if it's still relatively better than the V6's? And...I'm debating on the Touring Package vs. just adding Nav, as the Panoramic roof would set me back $1000. Is the Pan roof worth it for $1000? If I don't get the Panoramic roof, can I still get a normal sunroof, or will it be all covered?
  10. Great to hear guys. I just spent 1.5 hours reading up this forum, and found that MFT was a problem, but it is fixed on 2012 models with a USB drive, and 2013 comes with the latest upgrade, correct? The second major issue I hear is 'horrible' gas mileage with the EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine on the highway. I have a couple questions relating to the Ecoboost: 1) Has the 2013 Ecoboost been changed from the 2012 one? 2) In the Edge pamphlet, it states the Edge gets 28 MPG in the city and 43 MPG on highways ------ With Ecoboost. Is this true? I hope it is and they are speaking the truth. - Also, do the SEL and above models all come with daytime running lights? I see the verticle line/tube, but is it a bright, white, LED day time running light tube? All in all, I am real real close to purchasing a New 2013 White Edge Limited w/ Ecoboost and pretty much all the main features they have to offer, for $40.7k + taxes ($46K in the end). I need a car that would be able to drive 100km (or 60 miles) daily without any problems. This would be my daily driver. Would the Edge satisfy my needs?
  11. For those who bought a 2011 Edge in 2010 and still have it, how do you rate the reliability? Have you encountered any major problems? Has it been costly to run it? Also, feel free to state some of the stuff you do like/do not like. I am currently about to purchase a 2013 Edge and wanted to know if it was reliable and won't give me problems!!
  12. Hi. I am looking to buy a Ford Edge or Explorer immediately. Coming from a BMW. I want to buy the latest generation, so 2011 onwards. I am wondering which year to buy though, as the prices at the lower years are obviously much more appealing and they don't generally have too much KM's (Ex. 2012 Edge w/ 25,000km is for $35K, compared to $45K brand new) I want these options for sure: Navigation, Leather, EcoBoost, and possibly the Driver's Entry Package. The dealer I visited today is giving these options to me for $43,000 vs. $46,000 MSRP..(all fees inclusive). I am looking to lease it for the 0.0%. Now here is the dilemma, I can get a 2012 with all the options I want (plus more such as the SONY sound system) with around 20,000km (not much) for literally $34K, and with taxes it'd come down to like, $39K. But this has more options. This new would be around $50K. The only thing holding me back is the depreciation that you must face when buying a new car, so buying a one/two year older version seems to be much more legit. Any advice? Should I go for completely brand new, or a year/two older? Also, my 2nd question, how is the reliability on these cars?
