  1. thats just wrong i noticed when i was doing the calipers for my wife that the body/frame is very rigid and i lifted one whole side right in the middle, just like they left yours. i geuss she gets some locking lug nuts now powerboatr
  2. i brought to the attention of my dealer the abscence of the bumper protector, he ordered me one and viola it was free, he even had it installed for free i guess it pays to live in a SMALLL town and be friends with the owner powerboatr
  3. both of ours did it got em replaced under warranty powerboatr
  4. easy enough on a super duty jump the relay ground geuss i need to sort it out powerboatr
  5. powerboatr here, i am 6'3" 235 lbs and i find the seats to be extremely comfortable compared to the super duty truck. i raise the headrest to full extension and tilt the seat back a little and its fantastic. wife is 5' so we found the extreme adjustableness( new word) of the seats to be a great asset for us to be comfortable
  6. since its my project i will give myself a break on labor teardown, cleaning and prep 2 hrs @ 32 hr =64 powder coating 30 minutes = 16 curing 30 min (20-30) =16 re-install & bleed 2hrs =64 total 160 in labor 30 in suplies 12-16 electricity still 200 -22o- total depending on how efficient i am that day . i priced new claipers anywhere frm 30-55 each uncoated. getting them pded ranged from 150-250 , this does not included me re-installing them. since its for my wife, Priceless :shades: mocking up actually only took a few hours, with heat lamps, plus i spent some time deep cleaning the wheels, busting some rust off the rotor to wheel contact area. painting and corrosion removal and prevention was my life for some 30 years. i see it as therapy in my retired portion of my life :hyper:
  7. i just cleaned em up real good and taped off the back sides. this was purely for mock up . If i repaint them for her i will take em off and bead blast and prime and paint, which may actually be better or easier than powdercoating them. she is thrilled with the color, i may just order the exact paint color match and paint them, which wil make touch up easier if something or someone dings em rotating the tires. bleeding is not a biggie for me, i have the right tools, but its still a PITA to do, a side not i did find a powdercoat additive that makes the powder glow in the dark.... i might test a peice and see the effects behind the wheels, you know how it is keeping the one you love happy :happy feet: one other intersting note. when i jacked up the car using the prescribed points, the frame is incredibly stiff, as i jacked up each side the oppisite side lifted up as well.
  8. we will find out soon. I am not to thrilled about tearing the calipers down to do the powder coating for her. but hey I do try to keep her happy :happy feet: if i get a month out of them i may not do the powder and just repaint em as needed.
  9. Hubby is getting ready to poweder coat the brake calipers red. so he cleaned em up and painted em with a high temp red paint to see how they look and if I like the clor or not before the caliper teardown
  10. us to i just fill it realslow after teh first shut off, takes a few minutes
  11. we just did a tyler texas to jacksonville florida trip running 77.2 mostly according to gps and we squeezed out a very nice average of 21.6 mpg and it got better the faster we drove, the tank with the most 78-80 mph speeds gained 21.8
  12. that looks very nice, the wheels actually make it look even mre sinister powerboatr from gogo diesel says HEY he's my hubby we are looking for a line to powder coat the brake calipers to match the body color
  13. maybe your not DRIVING it. We drive it like the truck and the car it replaced, our edge has tons of get up and go it does though at 60 in cruise feel like its at teh low end of the pwer band. but on the highway at 70+ it pulls great and we still get 20-21 mpg they marketed this great liitl gem to the wrong crowd. we are over 40 nearer 50 and its a perfect fit, easy to get in to for old brokens bones and the seats are great on my husbands bad back
  14. what other cars share the edge/lincoln frame and body platform? is the volvo a relative? tia
  15. my husband and I think our seats are great, he is very tall and the seat back headrest actually supports his neck, and the lower lumbar bag helps him alot, he has a bad back and he just raves at how comfortable teh seats are.
