  1. The Blackberry Z10 phone works fine with MFT text messages. It synced no problem too and downloaded phonebook. No issues at all with it so far.
  2. I went with the Premium Care 7 year 150,000 kms for the same reasons, lots of electronics and my first Ford after being a Honda owner for 9 years problem free. I too had a 7 year extended warranty with Honda that I never needed, but it was much cheaper than the Ford extended warranty. That made me think a while about getting the Ford plan, but I didn't want to chance it being unsure of Ford quality and I intend to keep this vehicle for a long time, and now I have seven years worry free. After that if I have a major problem, I'll sell it. Give FordESP.ca a call. I got my Ford extended warranty for $2900 through them after the local Ford dealer wanted $3800 and then dropped down to $3400 after I said no thanks. Said no thanks the second time too. FordESP.ca is through Barrie Ford here in Canada. I chose to get Diamond-Kote paint and rust protection for less than half the price of the Platinum Shield protection. Same as what I have on my Honda Accord and there isn't a spot of rust on it and the paint looks like new after nine Canadian winters and counting.
  3. You are certainly entitled to your opinion AC, but as an Ecoboost owner, my Edge is plenty fast enough and accelerates quickly and smoothly off the line. It cruises along the highways effortlessly and I can pass vehicles easily with lots of pedal left if I need it. I've never tried to see what the top end is, but how much speed do you really need? I don't intend ever to use it as a tow vehicle, and I'm not entering my Edge in the Daytona 500, so is 45 extra horsepower really that big of a deal? I don't think so. It's all in the torque which is an Ecoboost advantage!
  4. I downloaded 3.2.2 and it seems to work fine except the temperature reading in the 8 inch screen is often but not always one degree less than the temperature reading in the lcd display in front of the driver. Sometimes the temperature readings are the same for a brief period of time, but soon changes to one degree less in the 8 inch screen. I think a few others reported this issue when the update came out, but I have not seen if anyone has found out the cause or a resolution. I contacted snyncmyride.com and they advised they have never heard of this problem (not a lot of help). Their suggestion was to do a master reset which I did, but that did not resolve this issue. Can anyone suggest a solution? It's nice having the temperature showing in the 8 inch screen, but now that I often have two different temperature readings displayed, it is rather annoying. Is there a way to reset or recalibrate the outside temperature sensor?
  5. I peeled mine off joesworld with no problem. Same for the French objects are closer than they appear sticker on the passenger side window. If there is any sticky residue, clean with Goo Gone and then with glass cleaner.
  6. To remove streaks or water spots on the windshield and the rest of your exterior glass after washing your Edge, try the KD Cloth. Check out their web site www.kdcloth.com . I was a sceptic at first when a neighbour gave me one to try, but this cloth is unbelievable. No more streaky windows. Use it on the interior side of the windshield to get rid of the haze that builds up over time. It also works great on the MFT screen to get rid of fingerprints as well as cleaning the dash and chrome. You will not be disappointed with this cloth!
  7. The WeatherTech digital fit floor mats are now available for the 2013 Edge.
  8. Thanks tmbubell, your instructions were bang on. I downloaded the updates no problem this morning. Thanks to flightplannerjim and normcloutier for your replies too. It's nice to know if you have an issue, you can put it out there in the forum and somebody will have the answer for you. I must say if you try to follow the syncmyride.com instructions, you will be scratching your head like I was until I posted in the forum. Thanks again guys.
  9. I downloaded the 3.2.2 update onto my SanDisk 4 GB USB device from the computer no problem, but when I put the device in the USB port in my vehicle, I see on the touch screen the system recognizes a USB device but then nothing happens. After about one minute I get an on screen message that says "USB device not compatible. Please remove". Anyone else have this issue and any suggestions on how to fix the problem?
  10. I want to purchase WeatherTech digital fit mats for the winter months for my 2013 Limited, but when I went on the WeatherTech web site to order, there was no option to order for the 2013 Edge, only 2012 and older. I contacted WeatherTech and asked if the 2012 Edge digital fit mats would fit in the 2013 Edge, and the reply I received is as follows: Unfortunately that model will not fit in the vehicle you have specified. There were some minor changes in the floor plan which forced us to alter our product so that they fit perfectly. However, We are planning on creating this product for your specific vehicle. This product should be available in about 3 to 4 months. I would suggest therefore that 2013 Edge owners wait until the WeatherTech digital fit mats for this year's model are produced in 3-4 months if you want a perfect match.
  11. Limited59 if you drove a 2.0L Ecoboost Edge you would have no concerns about a four cylinder. When I was deciding what to buy, I test drove both the four cylinder and the V6 and hands down I preferred the Ecoboost. That's what I bought and I just love it. And the leather seats are great too!
  12. In May when I ordered my 2013 Edge 2.0L EcoBoost, Ford Canada was offering free delivery for the EcoBoost but charging the usual $1500 delivery fee for the 3.5L, so even though the EcoBoost is a $1000 upgrade, I saved $500 by ordering the EcoBoost. I much preferred the 2.0L EcoBoost over the 3.5L and would have ordered it anyways, so it was win win for me. I'll save fuel costs and I'm $500 in the black even before I start driving it.
  13. An interesting article in Wheels.ca which might explain lower than expected gas mileage if you have an Ecoboost with the panoramic vista roof. Bigger sunroofs mean higher gas bills If heavier sunroofs make up more than a third of a vehicle’s production mix, the vehicle’s fuel-economy testing must include the feature. Tighter fuel economy regulations are forcing automakers to shave kilograms from their new vehicles. But the trend of offering heavy sunroofs and skylights may be mitigating any of those hard-fought weight savings. In an Automotive News article, the added light from a glass roof is very appealing to new car owners. But these larger (and often costlier) sunroofs can add several more kilograms than a steel roof, while when open, disrupt airflow, increasing aerodynamic drag and reducing fuel economy. Most sunroofs are less than 0.38 square metres in size. But, for example, the new 2013 Lincoln MKZ sedan will feature a pane of retractable roof four times that size. If the heavier sunroofs make up more than a third of a vehicle’s production mix, the vehicle’s fuel-economy testing must include the feature. If not, you may not be getting your vehicle’s advertised fuel economy.
  14. I ordered my 2013 Edge Limited Ecoboost on May 22nd and it's like my order has fallen off the face of the earth. The dealership hasn't heard anything yet, no VIN, no build date. Going by the above poster's timetable, it looks like it will be middle to late July before I see it...come on Ford, pick up the pace a little for us impatient customers!!
  15. I just ordered a 2013 Limited Ecoboost with the 300A package and the Canadian Touring Package. I could have paid another $1650 to get the 301A package which would have given me the driver's entry package (push button start - no thanks), and power liftgate (wouldn't have minded but I can live without), and the vision package which I didn't really want either, but for me the Limited was the way to go after considering both the SEL with the 202A package and the Limited. I wanted the Sony sound system and that was only available in the Limited, so that was the deciding factor for me.
