  1. FYI... Maybe many are aware of this, but I wasn't and no one told me.... I found it from the FordOwner Group... Full Online access to real Ford Auto Documentation and Information is available from Motorcraft Technical Resource Access. (www.motorcraftservice.com) It is a subscription service from Ford. For a single year and model, (i.e. 2013 Edge), it costs $11 for 72 hours, $20 for a month and $110 for a year. Everything is there and well organized, wiring diagrams, installation and removal diagrams for everything, door speakers, subwoofers, troubleshooting, audio system test methods (button combinations that run the systems thru tests), etc. Not just audio but drive train, service bulletins, recalls, etc... You can print any page and in color... Pretty impressive and exactly what I was looking for.. Hope this helps... Mike
  2. Forgot to mention, this does have MFT and Navigation System... M....
  3. I am looking for wiring diagrams and information on the Stock SEL "6" Speaker System and Head Unit. I have searched everywhere and cannot find a reliable source. I am willing to pay for them, but can't find.. Is it too soon for a 2013 Edge? Specific Questions: 1. Head Unit Wiring Diagram? 2. Is the Amplifier Contained in the Head Unit? 3. Available Space / Location for an New Amplifier? Thanks in Advance! Mike
  4. Help! I would like to buy a removed pair of Front Edge Speakers (SEL 6 Speaker System) if someone has replaced theirs and kept the original ones. I'm an engineer and want to carry out a (cheap and easy) sound experiment before I decide which new set of speakers to buy. I have a 2013 Edge so I think the proper matching ones would be from a 2011 through 2013 Edge. I will pay a reasonable price and shipping for the speakers. Please contact me at my email address, (rmmcgrew@sbcglobal.net), if you can help me out.. Thanks!! Mike
  5. If you are still interested... I spent WAY too much time recently adding album art to my MP3 collection (Like 1500 tunes...) to show in the new 2013 Edge. Finally completly successful, but I found a few interesting things... The Edge (MyFort Touch) is somewhat particular as to the album art that it will display, some art is just not liked but a pretty small percentage. I could not pin it down as to either the graphics format (should be .jpg) or the file size, it will display over 500 x 500 pixel files and over 300k bytes in size (most album art is much smaller, like 50K). I found a very cool free program the find art (I have no idea where it looks...) and will embed it in the MP3 by choice quickly and easily... What threw me was the fact that MyFord Touch actually remembers some aspects of the MP3 setups from Flash Drives. When you put in a new flash drive it categorizes it and then generates voice commands for it all... BUT if I put in a new MP3 file where I had ONLY changed the album art (Same filename, etc) it would NOT show the new art. Drove me crazy... BUT if I removed all files from the flash drive, let MyFord Touch discover the EMPTY flash drive and tell me it was empty, then put all the files back on it and let it refind and load everything again, then all the art would show... If your art disappearred, remove all the files from the Flash drive (temporarily copy to PC), let the Edge recognize that flash drive as empty. Put all the files back on and let the Edge reload them all, ad I bet they will magically reappear... Mike....
  6. The Infinity's look pretty good and are in my price range... Questions - Is there a tweeter level adjustment on the crossovers? (I couldn't see one and there was no mention at the Amazon site?) How did you mount the crossover that hangs on the wires? Do you have decent bass response with these 4 speakers? Are you running the audio tone controls flat? Thanks!!
  7. I doubt it was intentional, my 2008 Edge Limited had a DSP selection that would let you choose if you wanted the sound to be centered for the Driver's Seat or All seats, and all speakers were about the same level.. My question is to understand for the 2013 Edge SEL: 1. Is the Amplifier Contained IN the head Unit or a Separate Amp? 2. Best to Replace all 4 speakers with the same model? (I probably will) 3. 4 Ohm Speakers all around? Thanks for the Help!
  8. I am now almost a week with my 2013 SEL Edge, love it so far! I do expect to replace the factory speakers but don't understand something completely. There is a huge difference in the volume and bass response between the front and rear speakers. With the balance and faders set to center the front kicks some bass and pretty loud, the rear, almost no bass and much softer. I understand the front and rear speakers are different, (front has tweeters and the back only wizzer cones), but I would not expect the volume and bass to be this different. Either Ford did a poor job matching the efficiency of the front and rear speakers, there is an installation (cavity) difference, or there is an amplifier power difference? I can't find any information that tells me if the amplifier is separate on the "6" Speaker system or part of the head unit. It would help to know all this to decide if the best replacements would be identical front and ear speakers? IAre all the factory speakers 4 ohm?) Thanks in Advance, you are the guys that can help!
