  1. I got the 35W kit with 9006 bulbs and they work fine in my 2011 Limited. I did notice that the lights seemed to take a short time to come to full brightness so I added a capacitor harness and that seeed to do the trick. Very satisfied with the amount of light and color.
  2. My feelings about mpg on my 2011 Edge and any other car I have ever owned: What are you going to do if you don't like the numbers? Take it back to the dealer and demand a replacement that gets better mpg? Drive it off a cliff? Drive it into a river? That's why I don't even check my numbers anymore. It's like worrying about tomorrow's weather. Just my $0.02. Jim
  3. Is it any good or is that for the users to find out? I know you can't answer that question but I had to post it. It kinda reminds me of the old "throw it up against the wall and see if it sticks". Who's going to be a guinea pig?
  4. akirby: Thanks for the detailed synopsis of the MFT issues. However, Ford is ultimately responsible for the software "fixes" that are put out to the owners for their use. It appears as though they have no acceptance phase testing for the software that somebody else is writing for them. They are just taking the new code with the hope that it works and doesn't cause even more problems. In this situation, Ford is the customer of bsquare and Ford as a customer doesn't even check what they paid for to see if it works before handing it off to us. That is a very poor way of having any kind of computer code implemented. Somebody at Ford is RESPONSIBLE for these kinds of decisions.
  5. I find it unbelievable that this kind of total ineptness can exist at Ford Motor Co. They've taken months to come up with a new software update that, from all reports, only changes the location of the outside temperature back to where it was originally. Then they post the download and two days later tell people NOT to use it. Having been in the IT field for 50 years, I can say that if the programmer(s) worked for me, they wouldn't any longer. Ford better do something about this total blunder very fast or I for one will not own another Ford. There is NO excuse for this kind of "support".
  6. Reporting in with a successful update and an outside temperature displaying on the main screen where it used to be located. Am so glad the Ford temperature programmer finally came back from his/her extended safari in the jungle and was able to undo the code to re-allow this. And as COZZY said, thanks to the folks on this forum too for able assistance.
  7. Thanks Norm. I'll try that today. The other updates have started automatically without intervention on my part which is why I thought something was wrong.
  8. COZ: I downloaded the update to an 8GB drive and plugged it into the USB drive in my car and nothing happens. Tried the other USB drive, Same thing. Tried having the flash drive plugged in before starting the car and also while the car is running. All I get is a response on the 8" screen that it sees a drive in the USB port. But nothing happens. This is frustrating.
  9. chanka98: I had the same thing happen to me when I upgraded and called Ford and had a tech guy talk me through it. He had me do a master system reset then do a display of the system information. He said that based on the system information, the upgrade was successful. Just the old erroneous error message. <G> You should be fine.
  10. With my previous MFT version 2.7, I had all the nice album art on my USB stick. Did the new upgrade this past Friday and now I have no album art from the same USB stick. Have tried all of the apparent USB setting combinations to no avail. Tried a master system reset and still no art. Anyone else have this happen and find a way to restore the display of the album art? Many thanks in advance. Jim
  11. Kyle: Thanks so much for your steering me in the right direction. So that parameter is kind of a super override in the scheme of things. Why didn't I think of that? It's so obvious. <G> Jim We'll be discovering things in this car for years.
  12. My car is a 2011 Edge Limited and it is super. I have a USB flash drive in one of the USB slots with some music on it which I listen to occasionally. I also listen to either AM or FM radio. If I am listening to the radio and stop into a store, when I come back to the car and start it up sometimes the radio will play just as it did before I stopped and sometimes the music from the flash drive will start playing. I'd like for it to resume where it was when I turned the car off. Is there a priority sequence somewhere which determines what media to play upon car start? Is there a default "pecking order" for the entertainment system? It seems like a random choice at this point. Thanks for any suggestions/thoughts. Jim
  13. I have an 8 gb thumb drive and my music source is the cds I have on my Windows Media Player on my 'puter. I just drag and drop the cds I want for the car onto the drive. Very simple and it works fine.
  14. Many thanks guys. One of these days I'm going to learn to read what is written instead of what I THINK is written. I was looking for the little hole IN THE ADJUSTMENT BUTTON instead of the "collar" around the other headrest post. Of course it isn't in the button. My headrests are now packed away in a plastic bag in my garage. Have a super day to all.
  15. Has anyone with a recent build (mine was a March 2011 build) successfully removed the rear headrests? I've tried removing mine according to what I've read on here but cannot do it. The buttons on my headrest adjustments do not have any little holes to poke an allen wrench or any other tool into. Could it be that Ford has closed that "loophole" on newer builds? Appreciate any new info. Thanks in advance.
