Would the snow and salt from the road damage the finish on the wheel or the structure of it though?

I was recently told that aftermarket wheels can withstand snow and salt during the winter time without any damage as long as you clean them regularly. Is this true??

I have an 08 SEL...instead of buying the ambient lighting kit, I got LED strip and put them in myself and even added an on/off switch. Cost about $30 total and its a fun DIY project

I'm interested in getting the KMC XD Rockstar wheels for my 08 SEL in 20's but I'm wondering if these wheels need to be replaced in the winter (I live in cleveland ohio) or can they last through the winter without damage?

EGR: what size rockstar wheels are those on your edge? they look sweet. I've always loved the rockstar wheels and want them for my future f150

I had mine put on by an aftermarket shop....westin running boards. not expensive at all and I think they look pretty good.

I'm interested in putting an aftermarket nav system in the dash of my 08 SEL but I'm weary because of updates once the system is in the dash. Has anyone done this and encountered any problems with it? Comments are appreciated. Thanks

I live in Ohio and I want new black wheels for my edge but don't really want to have to take them off after every summer and wait until spring to put them back on.....any way around this or do I just have to deal with the stocks for the winter?

I have the same problem.....some lady backed into me as I was slowly cruising in a parking lot looking for a spot and she backed right into my rear right wheel. I didn't realize it at the time and I was going to college in 3 days so I didn't want to have my car in the shop, so we went our separate ways but later realized that the collision had cracked and peeled the chrome plastic off of parts of the wheel. I looked for replacements but Ford has crazy high prices for these things. I'm just looking to get black 20's or 22's for the spring/summer/maybe fall and then deal with the crappy wheel in the bad ohio winter. If I'm going to put a lot of money into wheels, it might as well be aftermarket ones!

I have an 08 SEL and I have the same problem. I got my HIDs from xtremehids.com cause my friend used theirs in his eclipse's projectors and he loved them. Their not bad systems and I have the problem where my left headlight wont come on all the time. I find that if the light switch is turned to "automatic" when the car is turned on, then both with turn on. When the switch is turned to off, and then I switch it to on or automatic then the left one decides to stay off. It starts to come on, flickers, then turns off. Hope that helps...and yes the ballasts are digital

So I'm 6'5" and I find that when I drive on long trips and have to sit more upright to save my back from major pain, that my head is dangerously close to the roof. I already have my seat all the way back and down as much as possible but I was wondering if anyone has lowered the seat even more somehow or has heard of anyone doing this in an edge? I know athletes and other rich people do it but I'm not quite sure how and would be very interested in this. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

what 22's do you have? I'm looking to get some 22's for my 08.

Saw another owner had 22's on his mkx and it looked pretty sick. I was wondering if anyone has chosen that route and if its worth the cost and how it affects your mpg?

This may be a stupid ? but does the "L" stand for launch or something else?
