  1. Thanks for the info. Will try this next time it happens as the software update did not fix it and has happened again.
  2. Had the same issue with the Voice commands button that would work intermittently. Sometimes it wouldnt work for days then all of a sudden it would start working again. Brought it to the dealer during regular maintenance and they claimed it was a software update. Its been a month or so and hasnt happened since. Keeping my fingers crossed.
  3. Just over 6000 miles and average 15.5-16.5. Does the BAMR and tow package add much additional weight that may contribute?

    Rain Water

I noticed this problem too and purchased a set of Weathertech visors which look great and do help, but with a trade-off of some increased wind noise. This seems to only be a problem for me on the driver side. Weathertech provides great customer service and even sent a new replacement set but still the wind noise. Anyone else have a similar experience with the visors?
  5. I didn't go with Nav but use the Sync services for directions often and its pretty good. It will give you turn by turn audible directions and street and distance visual from the MFT screen and the right side LCD.
  6. It's mineral grey with vista roof and tow package. I just installed the Weathertech window visors. Hoping its a little insurance from the rain water that would roll off the roof and right on the window controls.
  7. Congrats on your new Edge! Looks great. I am also just north of Boston so maybe we'll see each other on the road
  8. Sure sounds frustrating. It's their job to know but even sales has a hard time keeping up with the many new features unique to each vehicle. Hope it's an easy and painless fix. Definitely worth the aggravation to get it right.
  9. I usually have the tach displayed but nothing changes when I shift to S mode. Only when I touch the +/- does the gear # show up.
  10. I would agree with akirby that something isnt right. Curious though...and depends on which instrument cluster you have (I have sync with MFT and the 4.2 LED's on each side of the speedodometer)....but does your instrument cluster how the gear it is in as soon as you shift into S mode? Or does it not until you touch the +/- buttons for Selectshift mode as it should?
  11. Sport Mode and SelectShift Automatic are two different modes really. Your vehicle must be in Sport mode first to activate the SelectShift buttons for manual override but in regular Sport Mode it should work as an automatic. Per the manual: S (Sport mode) (if equipped)Moving the gearshift lever to S (Sport mode): Provides additional grade (engine) braking and extends lower gear operation to enhance performance for uphill climbs, hilly terrain or mountainous areas. This will increase engine RPM during engine braking. Provides additional lower gear operation through the automatic transmission shift strategy which reacts to vehicle inputs (vehicle acceleration, accelerator pedal, brake pedal and vehicle speed).Gears are selected more quickly and at higher engine speeds. Note: The system will stay in S (Sport) until the gear shift lever is moved into another gear for example P (park) or D (Drive). SelectShift Automaticâ„¢ Transmission (if equipped Your transmission must be in S (Sport) for SelectShift to operate properly. Hope that helps.
  12. I also thought the Sport mode was just for manual shifting but....in my 2013 SEL AWD v6 if you dont touch the +/- buttons it functions as an automatic and shifts at a slightly higher rpm giving better tourque and breaking. I'm sure at the expense of MPG but I find it much more responsive (and fun) in city driving. If yours is not shifting properly then I would have it checked.
  13. Congratulations on your Edge order! The dealer will usually quote a 6-8 week wait time from order to delivery assuming no parts or line issues. I also ordered a 2013 SEL and received it in 7 weeks. It sounds like you have already received a build date so it is in the system with a priority but keep on top of the dealer for updates. Now that your Edge is scheduled they should be able to provide you with a VIN#, Window Sticker and weekly status until completed. Ford customer support can also provide you updates on the build if you have the VIN#. The actual car only takes 2-3 days to build then it will be shipped which may take another 7-10 days at most. Good luck your gonna love it!
  14. Long time Ford owner. I've been lurking on this forum ever since I test drove the Edge. To think I originally went to check out the new Escape! One test drive was all it took to feel the difference. Wanted to thank you all for the great posts and comments regarding the Edge and the ordering process. I was quoted 6-8 weeks and it was at the dealership in 7. Here's what I got: 2013 SEL AWD Mineral Gray Metallic Black leather interior Sync with MFT Vista Roof Tow package I've only put a couple hundred miles on it but so far this vehicle is close to perfection! Sync and MyFordTouch are easy to use, work great and I have had no issues at all. Lets hope it lasts!
