  1. So I have taken my vehicle to 3 dealerships for this issue none of which are able to duplicate this issue however I have been able to record it multiple times. Depending on the weather here in the Chicagoland area in the morning my vista roof rubs against something and makes this sound (see videos). Generally it only happens first thing in the morning after a humid day. The dealer won't fix it because they say they can't reproduce it. Any recommendations on how to get this fixed. The Edge is a 2014 and only has 14k miles on it and is well within warranty because i bought it brand new. But Ford seems to be reluctant on fixing it without reproducing it. I have even called their Customer Service number and opened a case. They are sticking with they have to reproduce it however my argument is its obvious something is wrong with the roof and its rubbing against something. Both previous dealerships have placed grease and lubricant on it to no resolve because the problem always returns. Any suggestions... https://youtu.be/2uc6mqUZ2os https://youtu.be/dAFWL5k9eL4

  3. I'm a little late but I to an having the same issue I went over to the ford focus forum and found that is the amplifier for some reason all the power goes towards the front soaked and not evenly distributed. Try getting your dealership to replace it with a different revision.
  4. I recently bought a 2014 Edge limit with the Sony stereo system I was just wondering if anyone else is having a volume issue where they have to adjust the volume almost beyond the halfway mark in order to get decent sound from the stereo system? If so is there any resolution I have already changed the volume adjustment for speed and it is already set to 7. Short of going to the dealer to get the amplifier replaced does anyone have any recommendations
  5. Ironically my edge experiences the same problem. I've found that it has to do with services for some reason. Whenever my voice button stops working I hit the connect to services button under the top right tab then hit the voice button when the services computer operator picks up. After I disconnect the call the voice button and sync respond with no problem. I know it sounds unscientific but it actually works for me
  6. Thanks for the advice guys.. I actually took my Edge into the dealership and they are replacing the APIM.. i finally got pissed enough to make a scene in the dealership and they agree to replace the APIM and throw in some free oil changes for the inconvenience ... I will keep you guys updated if this indeed fixes the issue
  7. Ok. So I have been having an issue with my MFT system in my Edge now since the 3.6 update. Whenever i start my car there's a strong possibility my voice commands will not work when i hit the Sync button on my steering wheel. This doesn't happen all the time but usually 50% of the time. I have taken the car back to the dealership and they do a reset and it works fine.. However, when I go home i still have the same issue a few days later. They tell me its because my phone, an HTC One, isn't supported but that cannot be true as it is listed on the syncmyride website as a supported device. They said that they are having issues with my phone and the Sync system and that they cannot authorize an APIM replacement because after a hard reset voice commands work. Does anyone have any advice on what i should do next.. because I'm to the point where I'm going to cause a scene in the dealership until they give me what i want.
  8. So I've been dealing with a rattle in my passenger door since i bought my car. It has to do with whenever the bass in my car is turned up. I have had 2 speakers replaced because of this issue but the problem has persisted. I recently purchased brand new speakers for my 2012 Edge and the problem is still there. Does anyone know where that rattle is coming from or how to resolve it?
  9. So I recently had the bright idea of buying a 32GB SD Card to put all of my .mp3 files onto to listen in my 2012 Edge with MFT. The problem I'm having is that the MFT does not index any of the files on it. None of the more than 7000 songs are protected and are not copied to folders. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make the MFT recognize the music on the MFT. BTW the SD card is formatted to FAT32 and all of the files are located in 1 folder called music. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks everyone
  10. Thanks for the advice guys. I'm gonna go to the dealership and insist they do that. This is silly for the system to do this
  11. I recently went to the dealership for a scheduled maintenance but wanted them to check out some things that my MFT (no nav) in my 2012 Edge was doing. my list of problems were: 1) Whenever I got into the car and started it up the MFT would have to re-index and create speech commands for my music. Even though I never removed my ipod from the car 2) If i sat in my car while picking up my wife from work and turned off my engine and put the car in Accessory mode and listened to any device on USB. When i started it back up MFT would revert back to the AV mode and not allow me to leave for about a minute. 3) I could not access the outside keypad function to change, erase or edit any of my key codes. It would allow me to enter the master code but would not take prompt me with a screen to enter a new one or erase the old ones I had set up. The only way I could do that is if i reset the entire system and after I changed it I was unable to access it again. - So after the dealership took it in and initially told me my APIM probably was to blame. They said they got a message into ford saying that my MFT is in spec and that all the things listed above are normal. They stated that all MFT systems revert back to AV mode as the default when it is in accessory mode. and that a user is allowed one key turn per access to the door code. Mind you they never addressed the re-indexing. So my query is. Does this happen to everyone or is it just me that this is happening to. I dont have another MFT to go and test this out on to see if the dealership was just dicking me around or telling the truth. But if anyone can confirm or discredit the dealership's assertions I'd be extremely grateful because this is clearly annoying the hell outta me.
  12. Hi as a fellow mac user I can tell you that syncmyride works perfectly with safari v 6.0.2 for mac. There is a java control module that you have to install first (remember if you have Mountain Lion apple doesn't install java to your computer anymore so you have to download it from java.com yourself) once you have downloaded and installed java to your computer and you navigate to the site and click check for updates you will see a screen asking if you want to run the module.. select yes and all will be well. Good Luck
  13. Just installed the update to 3.5 so far so good. The entire system is quick. Voice response is a lot better. Call quality is back to normal. And there is now virtually no time delay when telling the system to play a song.
