  1. Hi,

does anybody have a breakdown of the year by year changes of the edge from the new (er) style switch in 2011 to 2014?

what are the year by year changes, additions, deletions etc etc?

looking for a breakdown of what will be different on my wifes current 2011 edge limited and her soon to be newer 2013 edge limited. (I already ran both window stickers etc and they are equipped options wise the exact same, 302a package, 20's etc).

    thanks in advance!

  2. I concur, an aftermarket kit would be the most cost effective. Not to mention that they would be equal if not better than OEM depending on which route you go.

You wouldn't need to cut or splice any of the factory wires, infact if you go with a 35w kit you won't even need any additional wiring and can just plug the ballasts into the factory harnesses. Now you will need to drill a hole in the factory cover on the back of the headlight. This is the plastic circle that you unscrew to get to the bulbs themselves. The hole is necessary so you can run the wiriing from the bulb to the ballast, and if you're worried about any warranty issues you could always purchase another set for about $30 online.

is there any recommended kit/bulbs other ford edge members are using for the 35w?

  3. My wifes 2011 edge limited has the factory HID's on it.

We possibly have it sold and are looking at a 2013 edge sport with every option we want except the factory HID's.

is there a ford produced kit to "add-on/ replace the halogen factory setup with HID's?

If not can you buy ford parts that will act as factory HID's?

do you have to splice/cut into the factory wiring harness?

    thanks in advance!

  5. I know you had stated you were looking for a used edge sport. There is a dealer here in OKC that I deal with a lot (Bob Moore Ford). They have several NEW 2013 Sports in stock in most all colors and are running great deals on them through the 2nd. You wouldn't get one for under 30 but one could be had for under 35k if you qualify for the ford incentives. Basically theyre selling them for $2500 or so off of MSRP in addition to the Ford incentives which are currently $4k here in OKC. Brand New Loaded Edge Sport for around $35 is a deal if you ask me.

If you were interested let me know and I'll give you all the info to the guys I deal with up there. I've purchased three vehicles from them now as well as referring a few buddies. They will treat you right!

    thanks man!

but I don't need a new one, I have found a decent amount of fully loaded used sports under 35k miles for around $28-29k. The minute I buy it new I lose value as with any new car (and I have done in the past)

    :)

  6. The Limted is the more luxurious version, it has more features not available on the sport, such HID lights. It also seems that the 2014 Sport doesn't have the Adaptive cruise control as an option anymore.

But the Sport does have the larger engine, 3.7 vs 3.5 litres. It's not so much more powerful, but is an upgrade.

If you interested in the sport for the looks, you can get the wheels, grille & side skirts, which will give 90% of the sport's looks.

    dang.

was hoping for all of that and the cool features!

my wife loves her's with the adaptive cruise and hid's
