  1. During my last "visit" with my dealer, service agent didn't have anything better to do and came in the waiting room to shoot to poop. We talked about a lot of nothing but one thing he mentioned was another customer who had 21" tires on his new MKX. ge had just replaced his second tire in (I believe) three - four months. This time he took a nail in the tread. Normally an easy fix, there's so little sidewall that any puncture damages the sidewall and need to replace the tire. His first failure was hitting a chuck hole. Couple that with the very hard ride these tires cause, and you might reconsider going this route. Perhaps talking with the service agent of your dealer and see what his opinion is on going with the 21" wheelies.

I will def take it into account.

I have had 22's on a silverado I had ( came with the truck) and never had many issues.

Also had the 2011 and 2013 edge with the factory 20's and haven't had a single tire issue in a combined (80k driven on both)... knock on wood!

  2. I am an insurance adjuster and you would be surprised how many aftermarket wheels we see on vehicles that cannot be found after a couple years of not being new. Then you as the car owner are left with getting paid for the wheel and having 3 leftovers...

I have found used sets or take off's for $1-2k total.

I wouldn't spend $4k on any wheels... period!

  3. Looking to buy a set of the optional 21-inch sport wheels with tires if possible.

If just wheels, also interested in that If I can get them for the right price.

I am going to be buying a 2015 edge sport in the next few weeks and would like to use the factory 20s for the winter and use the optional 21's for spring/summer driving.

    thanks!

    I am in Kansas btw!

  6. I haven't had any issues on our 2013 edge limited with the vista roof in the 2 years we have owned it.

My question is the rubber that is connected to the glass and the actually silver base.

It looks like an accordion and minimizes noise I believe.

It stays with the roof when moving or stationary. The left side is fine, the right side (passenger side) always seems to move and become disconnected. It snap back in place and isn't a huge deal, just annoying as whenever my wife uses it I have to reach up and push it back in place.

    any thoughts, help?

  7. I am an insurance adjuster and we always have to use safelite, regardless of customer wishes. If safelite is most cost effective then I use them, regardless of type of glass (rain sensing, sound absorbing, tinted, etc).

If I can make it work I will sneak OEM glass where available as that is what I would want (but being fair and nice isn't our directive, saving money is).

The company I work for is one of the top 3 business wise.
