  1. I'm trying to get pictures upload, they should be attached to this.
  2. Red, my alarm started going off in the middle of the night too. The car alarm thinks the door opens. I couldn't stand it and didn't have a warranty to take to the dealer so I took the door apart to find out what was happening and fixed it. It been 2 years and I haven't had a problem since. I made the original post to use the electric cleaner in May 2013. I wouldn't bother spraying the key hole, its hardly connected by sensor. Its a mess to take the mechanism apart to spray the sensor, but like I said, I haven't had a problem again in 2 years. I quick alternative is to spray through a particular screw hole noted in my earlier post, but I don't know for sure if that works, it seemed like it would if you got a straw to go deep into the mechanism, using electric spray cleaner not a greasy lubricant.
  3. In the same string as Lowesdall posted above I described a more long lasting fix than spraying in the latch mechanism alone and the potential problem. The sensor is deep inside the latch so a good way to get to it is to remove the inboard top screw and spray though that hole which goes inside the latch to the switch.
  4. Is the dynamat sandwhiched into the Hood layers? Can you describe how to do this?
  5. I had the same problem, it starting coming on intermittently and then constantly. My car is out of warranty and I didn't want to pay for a new latch so I took the door apart to try and find the problem. I found that the resistance through the switch when I closed the latch was varying between 3-10 ohms and the door ajar light would only go off when it went below 3 ohms. So something in the switch is creating poor contact. I liberally sprayed an electronic part cleaner on the switch and the problem is resolved at least for the last few weeks. Not a single problem yet. If you want to try this I found out you don't have to take the whole door apart. If you remove the Top Inboard Screw that holds the latch mechanism on you can use a 3-4" straw to spray inside the latch and clean up the switch. The switch is buried deep into the latch so you should get the straw on the cleaner deep in there and work it back and forth. Then put the screw back in. Hope people find this works. If the problem is that dirt gets inside there, WD-40 might help it build up worse, so I just used the electronics parts cleaner.

I believe it is a threaded, just unscrew it.
  7. Can someone help me find the Trouble Code for my 2011 Edge Limited? I drove through a large standing pool of water and after the splash my abs light, traction control light, and adaptive cruise control all became disabled. I thought the lights would go away after the vehicle dried off but they haven't. I used the cars Engineering Test Mode Chilton and was displayed DTC HIST CURR C25300 X. Any clue to finding out what the problem is? After a few weeks all the error messages cleared but the Collision Warning Malfunction light comes on every time I start the car. The same DTC is present.
