  1. Just happened to me this morning on my 2013 Sport with 6,000 miles. Scared the crap out of me as the low oil pressure light came on and my steering went completely out as I was turning. Started right back up. It better be a one and done type of thing otherwise it's gone. Not dealing with a vehicle shutting off in traffic with family or friends in the car. Hell no.
  2. You'll love it. I've had mine for 7 months now....not perfect, but pretty damn close. You'll have LOTS of people commenting on the wheels. Best of luck with her!
  3. At this point, I too would suggest a buy back. WAY too much to go wrong on a new vehicle. I'm not going to jump to conclusions but I think you definitely got a "bad one" in a mix of good ones. Be persistent in your request for a buy back and keep all your paperwork and emails on hand. Best wishes!
  4. Sorry to hear that happened. The same thing happened just last month on my neighbors 2 month old Caddy CTS with less then a 1,000 miles on it. They were going to replace the engine but he told them he wanted the license plate removed right then and there and that he was not willing to have a new engine replaced on a $50,000 caddy after 2 months. After a back and forth fight with the owner of the dealership, they ultimately bought back his car and found him an identical one brand new out of state that they replaced his with for the same finance terms. Of course, this is the guys 8th GM from this dealership so i'm sure that had some bearing on them replacing the car and taking a loss.
  5. Hey all, pulling the trailer (so far with an even mix of hwy./ city) i'm getting approx. 17.4 which i'm thrilled with. It's the 3.7L AWD with 22 inch wheels, not the 3.5 (it's the SPORT model). In terms of forums, i'm on Autopia.org, Detailking.com, and a few others that I can't think of at the moment. Use chemicals from all over, Zaino, Chemical Guys, Meguiars, Leather Masters etc.
  6. Hey all. I've had her for three months and i'm thrilled! Many road trips, three 2 - hour trips to Philly, one 3 1/2 hr trip to Sea Isle City, Jersey, 1 5 hour trip to Pittsburg, and one 2 hour trip to NY State. All trips I got 21-22 mpg with AC blasting. Otherwise in the city i've been avg. 18-19. No major issues with MFT, just some intermittent bluetooth connectivity issues with the music from my iPhone. 98% of the time it works flawlessly. Amazing how many compliments I get wherever I go. "THAT'S an Edge!?" "It came with Pirelli's!?" "22's!!!!?" etc. haha. I run my own detailing business and pull a 5x8 trailer (12 feet long total) with a total weight of approx. 2,500 lbs and it handles it better then I was thinking it would. See attached picture. No issues with braking at all, loses steam on hills fast, but pulls strong from stop lights and transmission shifts smooth at all times. So far so good. It was so worth the wait!
  7. Hi, I too leased a Sport AWD about a month ago. Have 900 miles so I can't really comment on gas mileage other than taking it on a 2 hour trip the other day and averaging 20.7 mpg doing approx. 75 mph. Otherwise, I am getting high 15s low 16s in the city. Surprised to hear you aren't impressed with the sony setup as I find it an absolutely HUGE improvement from my 11 Escape and every other car i've had with a premium sound system. Don't mind the seat heater controls on the screen (and I've been using them often with this crazy cold weather here lately) REALLY ticked about the lack of HIDs and I find the headlights to be subpar at best, a huge downgrade from my Escape with fog lights. They legitimately look "yellow" when you are looking at them. Ordered the white platinum last minute (was going to go Ruby Red) and i'm so glad I did. It looks mean with the contrasting black on the grill, wheels, and the blacked out roof. This is my 5th new car and i've NEVER even remotely close gotten the compliments and reactions from people that I do with this car. I love it....i'm so happy with it
  8. Here is another pic. Blown away by the Sony system. The neighbors all came over to see it and they said they've seen plenty of Edge's before, but not a Sport. Funny, all the salesmen at my dealer hadn't seen a Sport in person either. When I picked it up they were all surrounding it checking it out. I was the first to order one.....that goes to show how pathetically small this place is haha.
  9. Right outside of Scranton yep. Marywood is basically within walking distance of my house haha. The watches have become a norm here as odd as it sounds. Nasty storm blew through yesterday and last week two of the neighbors lost their roofs and a pole snapped in half from a random passing thunderstorm. We seem to be getting worse storms here the last few years.
  10. Thanks all. I have a whole waxing regime planned out and ready to go for her once we get some better weather (currently under a tornado watch!) .......can't wait for some sunny days to use that vista roof!
  11. 7 weeks total. Arrived today with 2 miles on her. SO excited. Immediately noticed how much higher it sits compared to a standard Edge. Cannot believe how smooth it is with the 22 inch wheels. So much better than my Escape. Taking it on a 2 hour trip next weekend so i'll report back with more thoughts then. Thanks for all your help. This is a great site! Nick
  12. Thanks Dingo, I spoke with two people I know that just re-leased Fords for the second time. They both ended their leases early, one at the 6 month mark, the other at the 2 month mark without any penalty or trouble. I'll just tell him in order to get the Edge, the Escape has got to go back. I'm sure it will all work out. They are a very small dealership, with 3 much larger dealerships not far away (in fact, the other 3 are much closer to where I live) so i'm sure he wants the sale!
  13. Thanks for all the replies. i should have mentioned that my uncle works as the body shop manager for this dealership too so I get D - plan pricing as well. Don't know if that has any positive or negative affect on the deal as a whole (obviously, a positive on my end). I'll see what happens when it comes in. I'll basically just tell him flat out to get the deal done, the Escape has to go. I mean we're talking about 3 payments here for a total of $1,099. I don't expect them to eat the full cost, like I said, i'll pay the payments in full if I have to, I just want that rebate so i won't have to put any more down to get the payment where I want it.
  14. Hey all. I have an Edge Sport on order. Should be here by first week of April, perhaps a little sooner. I am currently leasing an Escape and the lease is up the first week of July. My dealer seems to think that Ford Credit (whom the current lease is with) will not let me turn it in 3 months early and that i'll have to keep it till the lease is up in July. I'm calling BS. This is my 3rd lease with Ford Credit, and my parents have a current loan with them on their vehicle, and they had a good standing lease (all payments on time, no excess damage, under mileage) that ended in the fall with FC on another vehicle as well. They co-sign on my leases because of my age. The last two leases I waited till the very end of the lease to get something so i never dealt with them in regards to turning in a lease early but hear from people that do it successfully all the time. As of now, i'm 9,000 miles UNDER my allowed miles and the car is immaculate (original tires still have 6/32s left all around). Anyone ever dealt with Ford credit and turning a car in just a few months early?? I told my salesman that i'll put more money down to make the deal work as long as I can get the lease rebate from Ford.....I CAN do two car payments for the 2-3 months, but obviously why would I keep a car I don't need and pay the insurance and gas for it!? Any input is appreciated!
  15. I personally don't go by the Oil life monitor because I feel like the intervals are way too long. I always do an oil change and tire rotation every 5,000 miles. I do the cabin air filter, engine air filter, and wiper blades at 15,000, and usually I do a four- wheel alignment once a year because the potholes and roads in general where I live are brutal. A $70 alignment is cheap insurance, especially considering how much ONE tire costs today. There should be very little out of pocket expense until 30,000 miles, which is when i usually have the transmission fluid changed and a new filter done. That is to each his/her own. Some people don't believe it needs to be done that early, and that's fine. For me, again, a $100 tranny service is cheap insurance compared to a new transmission down the road. I don't touch the coolant, nor the brake fluid, nor the power steering fluid. Never had a problem with keeping those original fluids in the car well past 100,000 miles.
