Date - I had the same issue when I purchased my Edge Limited with just about the same quote to install a hitch for our cycles. I took it to a great hitch company in Dallas and had a full hitch receiver installed rated for up to 3000 lbs towing. Have never used for towing but have securely carried up to 4 road cycles over 4 states. The cost was $300.00. If you go the aftermarket route, make sure you research the company installing the hitch.

If I have a non Ford/Motorcraft after-market hidden hitch installed on my 2013 Edge Limited for a bike rack only, will the installation void the Ford warranty on the vehicle? If not, which hidden hitch is the best choice for a 2013 Edge?
