  1. Candurin, do you have heated seats on your home screen with 2 or levels? And does your IPC navigation work just as well as it did with Sync 2?
  2. Well I finally I have Sync 3 installed with a screen pulled from an Explorer. The quickness of Sync and having Carplay is a night and day difference from MFT. I still have not figured out the heated seat stages, but the more annoying part is the navigation not working correctly in the instrument cluster. I have several favorites saved, but cannot access them from the cluster. I went to a local dealer this weekend to get a tire rotation and have any modules updated with the latest firmware, but I was up to date with the most current software available - no charge. zrt8355 would you be able to PM me the settings for your Edge? I had Dan from the Fusion forums send me the as-built data I needed, but the navigation is still irritating me although everything else works great. Something to keep in mind is that the Climate voice commands for Sync 3 have been eliminated, as far as I can tell and have been able to research. The only thing you can change with voice is the temperature. The commands were something that I would occasionally use when I would drive through heavy traffic in summer or winter and needed the cooler/warmer air directed elsewhere quickly without removing my hands from the wheel. Not a big deal either, but it is different.
  3. After much head scratching and research through forums and E-bay I was able to determine that there are actually 2 types of Sync 3 screens. Those ending in -SA or -SB have a flat side completely encasing the screen. Per 4D Techs website, these screens fit the Escape, Focus, C-Max, Focus, Expedition, & Mustang. The one ending in -SC has an indention on the sides, that much closer resembles the MFT screen. That indention allows the MFT brackets to actually attach the screen to the dash. This screen fits the Edge, Explorer, Flex, Taurus, and several truck versions. I purchased an Escape module/screen, not knowing that it would not fit. For now, I'll continue looking on Ebay for the coveted -SC screen. As an aside, zrt8355, how did you get only 2 heated options on your Sync 3 display? I have 3 options, but of course only 2 work for the 2011s. And does your IPC navigation menu function correctly as it did with MFT?
  4. zrt8355 Can I ask you what mounting bracket you used to install Sync 3. Were you able to use the old one from MFT?
  5. That's very similar to what my phone does! If Im streaming anything or using the phone then the connection is fine. But if im listening to the radio, I'll notice either the phone or media connection disconnect and reconnect on its own. Not a big deal, but I usually keep my phone on silent from work and then I'll notice I have a few missed calls and messages because the phone failed to reconnect. I guess its just an iPhone quirk. Maybe this will get resolved with the next iOS release.

  7. It was a Sync 2 with MFT. I am considering trying to upgrade to Sync 3 in the future though.
  8. Well I received and installed an APIM from a 2016 Fusion Limited. I was able to change all of the APIM values to match my Edge and successfully installed it. I did have to recalibrate the screen touch after installation. Initally, my screen touches were registering upside down - I had to touch the bottom right of my screen to select the phone section of MFT. Doing the recalibration from the APIM diagnostics menu solved that easily enough. Unfortunately, replacing the APIM did not solve my Bluetooth issues. I am still getting random disconnects/reconnects on a daily basis, which means it must be my iPhone SE (which I've already reset several times). I mentioned all of this to my wife, to which she then told me that her iPhone 6 never disconnected from Bluetooth when she drove the Edge . At this point, I've already done everything I can to both the phone and both APIMs, so I guess I'm stuck with the Bluetooth issues for the time being So, now I have an extra Fusion screen and APIM with enabled navigation to sell. .
  9. With Forscan in the following order: In the BCM change (leave the Xs or ...s alone) 726-19-01: 0148 XXXX XXXX -Enabled 0047 XXXX XXXX -Disabled In the IPC Module change to either 720-01-03: C8F3 XXXX XXXX - base model Or F823 .... .... climate seats only Or FC27 .... .... climate seat & heated steering wheel This is per an Explorer 2011-2015 spreadsheet that I've used and apoears to be confirmed by Exploder82
  10. Awesome! Thanks Candurin. I'll update on my results sometime in the next week
  11. What about a 2015 from an F-150 Lariat. I know ill have to remove some features but it should work as long as it is the MFT version?
  12. I already have navigation. My APIM Bluetooth has been failing over the oast few months -random disconnects and failure to connect. Today the entertainment portion of the screen was blacked out for about a minute before it started up.
  13. For anyone else who has done or has knowledge, can you confirm what other APIMs are compatible with the 2nd Gen Edges? Mine is a 2011, and I can find a 2015 F-150 module with Navigation. If I modify the AsBuilt Data in Forscan to match my Edge will it work? Or are the newer modules not compatible with the 2011 Edges?
  14. Do you still have the APIM?
  15. I was still having issues with a repeated failing Bluetooth connection, so I performed a few upgrades to my both my iPhone SE and to MFT Sync. I am now running iOS 10.3.2 (I had the most recent previous version), but figured why not update it. I also am now running Sync2 v3.10 - which I downloaded from the Explorer forums. I'm hoping that the new Sync version and iOS will both provide a better connection. On a 20 minute drive this evening, I did not notice one disconnect, whereas before I would have at seen my phone pairing/unpairing at least 3-5 times. Time will tell.
  16. I'm still having issues with the connection. I'm running Version 3.08 15128. The version has worked well for the past year, but its gotten progressively worse iver the past month. The phone section doesn't even show the Emergency Contact numbers in case if an accident.
  17. Im pretty certain its not my phone. It stays connected just fine with other bluetoooth devices and even in my wife's Nissan Quest. Last night, I pulled the fuse (#29) and let MFT reboot. When it came back, I then did the MFT Master Reset through the System menu. I hope this was enough to clear any remaining Bluetooth gremlins, otherwise Im going to start looking for the Bluetooth radio/module.
  18. I have recently been having my iPhone SE phone connect and disconnect randomly from MFT. I only have this issue in the car, so I don't think its the phone. I have already unpaired and repaired my phone various times with MFT. Does anyone know if there is a single standalone Bluetooth radio/module that I could replace? Or would the Bluetooth radio be a part of the APIM, ACM, or other module?
  19. Candurin, Do you know if it's possible to just add the remote access kit? I use a chinese switch-blade key that I want to keep using and my car is in a secure parking garage at work, so Im not worried about needing an alarm. I will not have line of sight, so I don't expect the normal remote start keys to wirk and I'd rather use my phone. Im hoping I can add it and use Forscan to enable remote start on the Edge. I do know a dealer trip will be needed to enable remote access for the pin/app. Any thoughts?
  20. It's now been about 2 weekss and everything works well. I have 235/60/18 Blizzaks with 11/32" of tread from a Flex on 18" wheels from an Explorer. The offset difference was 4mm, meaning my tire/wheels are 4mm closer to the struts-not a huge difference but the wheels clear the front calipers with all of 2mm. A little closer than I'd like but its inly until mid March or so when I switch back to my normal LTX Defenders. As for TPMS, I bought 4 used sensors off if eBay and never even saw the warning light. Like several other members, the sensors synchronized on their own. The best part if all of this was the total cost was $386. That included tires, wheels, sensors and installation - proving some persistence can pay off.
  21. I was able to find some wheels from a 2016 Explorer. They are 18" wide with a 44mm offset. The lug spacing is also the same. My only concern was the bore size since the 2011's are 63.4mm. I called a local shop that confirmed the 18" Explorer XLT wheels also have a 63.4 bore. Im awaiting a set of TPMS sensors from eBay this next week. Once I have them, I'll confirm that everything works as planned. Fingers crossed!!
  22. No, its a 2011 Edge. Ihere are also some Explorer and Flex wheels available, but I think the hub size is also different.
  23. I recently purchased a set of used 18" Bliizzaks for my FWD Edge. I want to avoid the cost of mounting/rebalancing by getting a second set of wheels. In the KC area i see a set of 2007 MKX 18" wheels, does anyone know if they'll fit without boring out the hub? Or do i need to wait for some 2nd Gen Edge/MKX 18" wheels to become available?
