  1. Hi, I just purchased a 2018 Edge Titanium with the 20" wheels and the ride sucks. Question, has anyone replaced the Hankook tires that came with them with Micheline tires to improve the ride? Next question is anyone interested in buying or trading for my 20"s with 18" rims with Micheline tires????
  2. I got it, the file location of the MU3 has to be in a "forced" location and the car will pick it up.
  3. I am trying to find a file format that will work so I can play my playlists. Can anyone tell me what file formats work? I have tried creating playlists using wma. files and mp3. original formats. I have tried MU3 playlist files and UTF-8 encoding for MU3 files in from both base formats wma. & mp3. nothing works.
  4. Has anyone had the outline of the passenger air bag start to show up, and if you have did Ford take care of it under warranty and replace the top of the dash board?
  5. Post after post after post people complain about MFT, is anybody listening at Ford?
  6. First of all it is not a $200 MP3 player and it can't be replaced by $10 thumb drive just for your information. What we are talking about here is principal and not allowing themselves to be taken advantage of by a big company like Ford. They can do whatever they want, and show little regard for commandments made to their customers at time of sale. If more people stood their ground and did allow things like this take place our country would not be in the mess it's in right now. So tell me now who's foolish, someone who stands up for what is right, or someone the likes of throw around little phrases about something they know nothing about?
  7. Your absolutely 100% right I backed the wrong horse but the horse was not Microsoft it was Ford. When I bought the vehicle Ford said they supported it, in fact today all of their literature also says that they support it. Ford's technology is flawed thus the reasoning for not supporting the Zune. It is the same reason menus on the navigation system disappeared from the quick nav, and that reason is because they cannot make the menu's work correctly, so Ford said they were not needed. As far as I'm concerned this is nothing more than a case of bait and switch sell a customer one thing and then because you can't support it tell him it's old technology.
  8. Fellow Zune owners, it seems Ford is throwing in the towel. I was informed today that the problems I am having with my Zune players not being able to sync correctly to the car will not be corrected. It seems with all their great technology they cannot get a simple MP3 player to sync with their MyFord Touch system. Just one more slap in the face from Ford, they can't fix it so they stop supporting it. Just a quick note; my Zune players will sync correctly to my 2012 SS Camaro, 2012 Chrysler 200 convertible, 2014 Honda Goldwing motorcycle, and even the Kia I rented last week would sync with my Zune. I don't ever want to hear about Ford's technology again because if they can't technologically keep up with a Kia I would not be bragging about it if I was them. Anyone looking for a good deal on a 2013 Ford edge would less than 20,000 miles that does not work as advertised?
  9. I know that Ford monitors these forums, if you really would like help you can advise Ford that they have one very unhappy customer who's been working with them patiently for over three months, very close to four now on this issue. Having said that I did ask them this last week to replace the brains of the unit (APIM) but to date have not received a promised call back so I have no idea what the status is. After paying $39,000 for a vehicle you would think Ford would feel an obligation to the buyer to make sure the vehicle they manufactured was operating correctly.
  10. I hate to correct you but I am working directly with Ford, both Customer Care and Advanced Engineering, I have names, phone numbers and e-mail addresses to prove it. As far as working with the dealership I am being told that Customer Care has to authorize any parts are going to be put into the vehicle, per the dealer. So the saga continues.
  11. My problem is constant, I cannot listen to the MP3 player for any extended period of time without screwing up, maybe I get 20 minutes. Besides there is no excuse for Ford not getting back to people when they say they will. There is little thing called common courtesy when it comes to customer service, it seems Ford knows nothing of this.
  12. It is a good vehicle, in fact accept for the big problems I am having with the MFT I enjoy driving it, Ford just will not stand behind it. On both GM and Chrysler our other cars we have had some issue but they found the problems and fixed it quickly. All Ford has done is give us the run around. Would I buy another Ford? Not unless I experienced a big turn around in Customer Service. Being in business myself I measure a company on how they handle product issues both in customer correspondence and the efficiency by which they fix the problem. Ford's grade to date is an F.
  13. Read my post here in the forum under owner impressions and make up your own mind.
  14. When I first read the reviews on the 2013 Ford Edge many reviews talked about problems with the cars electronics namely the MyFord Touch system not working correctly or as advertised. Because the system is so sophisticated I wrongly assumed it was due to the inexperience of the owners' ability to communicate with the car, I have never been so wrong! I first started having problems with the navigation system, the quick nav would lock up on the car. After three trips to the dealership they finally replaced the navigation module which fixed the problem for a while. I am currently still having problems with the quick nav again and these problems have been verified visually by my Ford dealership. Then back in September there was a system update done and that is when the real problems started. At that point part of the quick nav menu for the navigation system disappeared. Ford now said it was removed in the update nice if they had told us customers. The main problem was my Zune MP 3 player (a Microsoft product) after the update would no longer stay in sync with the car, and would continually re-sync itself almost every time the car was restarted. Then the player(s) started to re-sync themselves randomly, and/or locked up. To make sure it was not the player I tested three other Zunes' that we have for our other vehicles to make sure it was not the player. The same problem continued with each of the other players, there fore it was the vehicle not performing correctly. When I contacted Ford back in September what was the first thing they said, the player was defective. I then informed Ford that I tested three of the same players that were functioning properly in our other vehicles, all three reacted the same way in the Edge experiencing sync problems and lock ups. It took weeks and numerous phone calls (and un returned phone calls) to finally get Ford engineering to react to the problem. It then took weeks for Ford engineering to get me a diagnostic program to load into the car. Over the course of the last five weeks I have sent for downloads to Ford for them to analyze, still nothing. I called on 12/9 asking to speak to a supervisor a customer care, I was told someone would call me back within 48 HRS, no one called. I called again 12/12 wanting to know why no one called me back, I was told they did, but I had no record of any phone calls to me from Ford, either missed calls or voice mails. At point told that I was assigned a if Customer Care Supervisor named Tracy, they put me through to her voice mail, I left my contact information and case number, to date no reply In the past when I have had problems with other cars that were difficult to find the car was left of the dealership and driven by tech rep over a period of time to find and isolate the problem, there has been no attempt by Ford to do any hands on diagnostics. In fact there has been no sense of urgency by Ford to fix this problem quickly and efficiently. It is getting to be my summation that the reviews and lawsuit allegations are correct, the MyFord Touch system has serious flaws. Because of the continuing extensive problems with both the navigation system, and entertainment System I feel Ford needs to replace the complete MyFord Touch system in the car after months of being unable to troubleshoot, isolate or fix the problems I am experiencing. But to date as I stated before Ford showing little or no resolve to get this car fixed once and for all.
  15. Guess what I am also having problems after the last update and never had problems before, and the sad thing is it is with a Microsoft Zune, and not just one player but 4!!!! I can assure you it is the car's software and not the MP3 players because they work flawlessly in my other vehicles and did in the Edge until the last update.
  16. The main reason I purchased the Edge will most likely be the reason I get rid of it, the Ford Touch/Sync. I use my MP3 all the time in the car and it worked fine until the latest system update. Now the Edge will not stay in sync with my Zune after I start the car a dozen or so times, then it starts to resync from song 1. Working with tech support they told me to do the master reset, I did and it works for a while and then it starts all over again. Because I knew when I called today they would try to say it was not the car but the MP3 player, and guess what, they did. So far I have tried the reset 5 times, same thing has happened with 4 different Zunes. I have a Zune in my 2012 Camaro SS, the wife's Chrysler convertible, and our Goldwing, I tried the additional three Zunes in the Edge, on all of the other three players sync reacted the same way after a master reset worked for a while then BANG, the Edge loses the sync. I also requested they tell me how to back out the update, like you can do with all of the other Microsoft products but, guess what, you guessed it they can't. Anyone out there have the same problem?
