  1. After 6500 combined city / hwy miles, my AWD has averaged 20.2 mpg. The Edge is like a Japanese car. 6 speed trans, 265 horses from a 3.5 V6. It rocks. No longer do we have to sell our AMerican cars to achieve fuel economy! AMEN!
  2. Dear Angry- I think you will find it relatively simple to add some healthy bass to your existing stereo with the BassLink set-up. The most challenging part, in my opinion, will be choosing a location to pass your power cable from the engine bay through the fire wall. Sometimes you have to drill the hole yourself. I haven't added an amp to my system yet, so I don't know if there is an existing hole that will suffice. That power cable will supply the 12+ volts of power required to boost your sound. It is fused within a few inches of the battery terminal and runs to the part of the car in which you decide to mount your amp. Another challenge I have found is splicing into factory wiring in order to obtain a high-level signal for my amplifier. The BassLink is a good choice (for many reasons including) because it accepts high-level inputs. There are no RCA level outputs on the back of the factory head unit, so you use the speaker leads and hook those into the inputs on the BassLink amplifier. The other hookups are pretty simple usually. The BassLink may require a remote turn on lead. I believe this is the blue wire on the back of the head unit that has a white stripe. You can run it from the front of the vehicle along the same side as the power wire. It won't effect sound quality at all. Good luck!

  4. LOL, good call on the Gremlin. Next we will see styling cues from the Datsun B210 ?!?!
  5. Do the seats need to move in order to tilt them forward? I usually keep one side free and build my boxes along the passenger side of the cargo area. That way I can still tilt the larger portion forward to fit snowboards and other long items.
  6. I have been driving my '07 Edge for about a month now and I'm ready for a little more bass in my life. My Edge came with the basic cd player and regular speakers. They are ok for now. Certainly, the sound is clean enough. I just need a lot more bottom end to satisfy my inner audiophile. Does anyone know if there are Q-Logic Q-Forms or MTX Thunderforms in the making? I don't want to make a custom fiberglass box if i don't have to. Space is a deffinite issue since the cargo area needs to be accessable for the spare tire. My thought is that there may be enough space under the rear seats to fit a couple of 8" or 10" subs. Anyone else care to chime in on that probability?
