hi! have you addressed your wheel noise issue?

my edge just turned 40k and I am experiencing the same (I believe) thing. I didnt even realise how loud my car became lately until I drove MKX... it is just madness - this rotation noise gets bit louder when I break - dealer told me it is definitelly tires (22" pirelli), but I couldnt disagree more - the tires visually look perfect and there is still 6mm thread left on them. Wheel bearing? Or something else?

I received my TRS xenon set (after nearly 3 months!) yeey, third world country postal services roolz... next Friday is the retrofit day

...isnt it going to be an eco boost 2.7? meaning more power to begin with (thanks to turbo) and programmable ECU to squeeze more hp with only software upgrade?

I dropped my 2013 Edge to dealer for regular maintenance (32kkms) - I asked if they can look into it (but given the history I doubt they will do anything about it). Is there anything I can do on my own to fix it?

 

EDIT: I only mentioned that I would like this to be done and... THEY DID IT this time. I can't wait to see if it is going to be a permanent fix

First I got my set backordered due to some shipping drama Then when the discounted set finally arrived, outside temperatures were way beyond 110F (45C) to fit it...

So I waited for better weather and this morning I finally did it! It took me exactly 2 hours to finish...

 

The result is just hmm... great

 

 

 

I didnt connect the dimmer though. I'll check how badass it looks at night.

Hello twin bro! Let us all know how's the ride after lowering... I cant make up my mind whether to go with HR or keep it stock...

Middle East Edge/MKX have the towing package and/or additional cooling or what Ford calls "high ambient, high speed package". And the fuel tank is 70 litres, it seems that Arabski refuels immediately after getting the low fuel warning.

my bad, it is actually more than 60l - looking at my fuel history, the max I've every put in it was 65l... yet still I think the size is a joke :P

 

what is the "towing package" ? Sport does not even have a hook mount (rear bumper is different)

put on lighter rims and narrower tires (like SEL) and you will reach 20 "Sport" comes at a price...

I believe under "normal" conditions you can see 20+, but not in the middle east, where often you just leave your car running for hours when shopping (to avoid skin burns after you come back with your shopping cart). Also daily border crossing doesnt really help - 2-3 hours a day in a permanent jam in full sun and +120F outside. FJ cruisers in same conditions average 11-12 mpg, and if I decided to get a land cruiser, I would most likely never seen anything more than 10mpg ;-) (but land cruiser has 30+ gallon tank)

 

bottom line - if somebody's awd edge makes only little more than 16mpg, I would call it normal and stop looking for any problems. If you want more fuel efficiency, get a smaller car with downsized engine, is all...

What did they do? Didn't you get a price quote before they started? You probably paid for a lot of "inspections" which aren't necessary. Next time just ask for the oil change or whatever the maintenance guide says you need, which is pretty much just oil and filter changes for the first 60k miles.

it's a whole different world down here... Ford does not have any control over what dealers do here. No such thing as "oil only" They follow the book and this is the only way to keep the warranty...

 

(anyway, just wanted to vent...)

...lifetime average of my 2013 sport is 16mpg (stats link), mostly on highways with a speed limit of 120km/h, average from 61 refuels. Max mpg seen - 19, min: 12.5...

 

(by the way - whoever equipped this car with 60 liter fuel tank must have had troubled childhood, but on the other hand - the same joke is with Shelby ;P )

So here I am, reaching my 15k miles mark... I just dropped my 2013 Edge Sport for a routine oil change. Car runs smooth like the day I got it. Like two Times before, they will hold my car for the next 8 hours, then they will make it a big success story by calling me at 5:45pm saying that the car is ready for pickup. List of things done includes detail washing, topping up the washer fluid and... oil & filter change. Price -> $ 250. Why so much this time? - I asked. "you should have bought our maintenance plan". Nothing else... the most expensive oil change ever :/ And I dont mind paying the money, but I feel that I get absolutely nothing in return...

 

nothing except that meaninglesss stamp in my warranty book... Is that what a Ford user calls a peace of mind?
