  1. I have a 2008; this has occurred since new. Open the front doors, especially the passenger, after washing, and water pours out for a short while. A design defect! Good idea to ensure lots of rust protection (e.g.) Rust Check, inside there.
  2. I have a 2008 with the chrome exhaust tips. I noted last winter that the chrome quickly became tarnished and had a crusty buildup of road crud. It seems that as soon as the road crud ( salt, etc) hits the hot pipe it dries to a crust. The same happens over a longer period during summer. It takes some elbow grease and some chrome cleaner (Turtle Wax) to return the shine.
  3. Did my second PTU visit today; leaking again after repair of a month ago. Service rep informs me today that a new TSB was issued on Saturday, April 18. They are waiting for new or revised repair details before ordering replacement ( revised?) parts. I just hope this is not a "cock and bull" story!!
  4. I have a FORD factory installed remote start on my 08 Limited and it has a separate fob; I don't thibk the two can be combined.
  5. Folks: I have found an unlikely source for a set of splash guards that integrate quite well on the front wheel wells of my 2008 Edge Limited. By coincidence, I discovered that the same GM slash guards that I have on my Buick Century have the right notching and contours to fit the Edge, so I ordered and installed a pair, and, I believe they look quite nice and unobtrusive. The GM part number is 12497418, at least that's the number here in Canada. They are made for the front wheel well of the Century. They can be installed very easily by using the two existing screws on the Edge fender; you need only hold them against the screw head, give them a tap with a hammer, leaving an imprint that can be used to drill the two holes; remove the two existing crews and use them to install the spash guards. I tried the Ford ones, recommended for the Edge but found them too big, and unsightly...no integration at all; so, for half the price, I have a nicely integrated set of GM splashguards that fit very nicely. AGR
  6. Last week, I purchsed a new 2008 Edge Limited. I decided to order the Cargo Logic system advertised by Ford as an Edge accessory. I went to the dealer to pick it up; removed it from the box where it was bent in half; installed it in the rear and it became immediately obvious that it would not fit properly. While the contours fitted nicely around the rear lip and the sides, the foremost edge of the "tray" extended beyond the vertical backstop behind the rear seast. The tray would only fit if the rear seats were folded down!! Now, how assinine is that!!! It is downright silly that the tray could only be installed with the rear seats down. What a disappointment. Unbelievable that a major company ( with supposedly highly paid engineers/designers) would produce such a dud!!!! Duh! Needelss to say, I returned it for refund. Has anyboby tried the Ford Cargo-logic and had similar results or did I happen to receive a defective product?
