  1. I own a 2012 Sport with a 3.7 and love it. Decided to check out the ford website and the info for the new 2015 Sport. First, I'm not a big fan of it looking so much like a Santa Fe and especially the rear design looks a little funky. A lot of times things look different in real life so willing to wait. But the real disappointment is it appears the only engine option is a 2.7, even on the Sport model......what's up with that? I checked the 2015 MKX and noticed it still has the 3.7. If that's the case, my money goes to Lincoln even though the interior stuff gets a little gawdy. Keep the green stuff on economy models dude......don't need your rockin chair or your medicare.
  2. Ok Shadrack. Leave a post whenever you're in my area. I will post if these sell in the meantime.
  3. Being we've gotten a few cool mornings I've noted a problem. The climate control on my 2012 Edge Sport is malfunctioning. Regardless if it is set on dual or individual the drivers side blows cold air while the passenger side blows hot. The passenger side works fine as when calling for cold, it is cold, or hot and it is hot. However the drivers side always blows cold. The odd thing to me is when I manually shut the dash louvers on the drivers side to stop the cold the passenger side slowly cools down even though it is still set on 80 degrees. Why would manually shutting the drivers side change the air temp on passenger side? I don't get it. Anyone encounter a similar situation with their climate control? Doesn't matter if it is set on "auto" or "dual".....the drivers side will not get hot. Thanks in advance.
  4. Shadrack, I'm about 1 hour north of Chillicothe. Easy drive.
  5. I've decided to change my 22" wheel size on my 2012 Edge Sport as the original Perillis need replaced. Too noisy and I want a smoother ride and more road mileage. I went to a local Discount Tire store and discussed options with a seemingly knowledgeable sales guy and I chose one of the options he suggested. A new set of 17" rims with Michelins. Obviously the rims are not as awesome as the original Sport rims but have a similar look and the overall height is so close and the speedo will hardly have a difference. Both rims and tires are on order but now after reading some of the posts here I am wondering about the caliper clearance and whether what he gave as an option will actually work or could there be any potential problems? I don't have the specs on the rims we ordered at hand. Are there any heads up that I should be aware of from anyone who has changed original wheel size on their Sport? Thanks in advance
  6. My direction is not aimed specifically at quality as I do understand the simple logic of frequency band. The tech mentioned the after market product specializes in remotes and therefore is making a statement, in his opinion, they typically have a longer range....quality aside.....they work better more often. He said it, not me and I assumed by that what he meant is they work better than the installed factory units. And all I am simply saying a vehicle in this price range seemingly should have a comparable, if not better long range remote than what one can buy in the average after market unit. Quality, luck, whatever.....if longer range is possible and after market is generally better why don't they just say spend an additional 350 and you too can have long range like the average after market.
  7. Thanks to FordService (Todd) on this forum I was able to get the best resolve for my remote start issue. Being this is my first remote start the inconsistency problem really turns out to be in some areas the range may vary greatly due to signal interference. In my case, my remote start range where I work is about 75 feet at best or about 30 steps away. Anything beyond it doesn't work. The reasoning explained by the Ford Tech is the location of my work is within a mile of Rickenbacher Air Base. I've accepted this explanation because in every other case I've used the remote start it works perfectly every time with a 300+ ft range and sometimes even working from inside of a store. However, I have what I believe is still a legit gripe. A friend where I work has an after market remote start on his pickup and his works from well inside the same building. The tech told me after market remotes have better range primarily because that is what they specialize in! Thus I have to ask the obvious......an Edge Sport maxed out with options has a sticker of 40 grand plus and they're telling me an after market unit for an older pickup is better?? Ok, I'm not dissatisfied because remote start is just a bonus deal for me and low on my priority list but that explanation makes little sense.
  8. My 12 Sport has a tad over 35,000 and I'd say I'll be lucky to squeeze another 5000 out of the Pirelli Scorpions. I bought the Sport used so I can't say whether its primary mileage was highway or city but 40000 miles seems lean for tires costing 1200 bucks. Maybe I'm too old??....lol. What is the average expectation for the 22 inch low profiles?
  9. I'm curious about going to 20" tires but uncertain how much better the ride comfort and noise level is. I know my 22" Pirellis have 35000, nearly worn out and pretty noisy and somewhat a harsh ride. I truly love the rims and these are pristine condition. I like quiet and can tolerate a little stiffness in the ride comfort but before I spend another grand and more on tires I want to explore the options and hear from others what options are out there.
  10. Akirby, Motor Trend Certified is a certification just like Ford Certified and is used by a major Ford dealer in my area.
  11. Hello Todd, actually I just purchased my Edge Sport (used 2012) 12 days ago and it is Motor Trend Certified. The salesman did fine to demonstrate the remote start and it will occasionally work correctly. However, it would not work consistently so I made an appointment with ford service. It seems the tech who specializes in remote start is overwhelmed as I was scheduled as a "waiting customer" only to get a cancellation unless I could leave the car for a day. This was last minute notice and I could not so the tech called me and tried a couple times over the phone. Like I say, it will work correctly but still randomly. The procedure seems so simple and should not be so picky and one would have the expectation that it works every time or not at all. That is the mode I'm in now. I walk out of work and do the simple procedure within 300 feet and nothing. I almost hesitant to attempt another service appointment but I am very frustrated that it doesn't work correctly. I won't name the dealer on here as otherwise I love the car. Thanks for any advice.
  12. My next step will be to disconnect the battery and see what happens. I know for certain the dealership just replaced a new battery when I bought it a couple weeks ago.
