  1. i saw all of those on ebay and that was what i was looking at. is there any advantage to getting the ford sensors over the nonford? i wont be keeping the stock wheels and the tires are shot so i was planning on having the tires removed and just sell the stock wheels, so i would have access to the stock sensors during the process. is there any risk of damaging the sensors during removal and re-install?
  2. i have a 2012 edge se fwd and i've decided that once the tax return comes in i'm going to put a set of 22" wheels and tires on it. can the TPMS be transfered from the stock wheels to the aftermarket wheels? or if i buy a set of sensors, which type do i need, the band type (read this is for 2010 and older?) or the valve stem type? i'd like to get this figured out so i can have the correct sensors on hand if need be when the day comes to do the upgrade. thanks
  3. have you checked to make sure that there is no voltage coming from the fuse slot when the power is off? maybe try using the ground that the fuse box uses?
  4. are you sure it doesn't come out? i looked on my 2012 SE and it looks removable. i'd hate to take a dremel to my mirror to find there was no wires in there.
  5. i would like to second the thumbs up for san tan ford. i have not taken my edge in for service yet, but i will be going to san tan when i do. i deal with eric at work because he is our contact for fleet vehicles and he gets the job done every time. the service at san tan has always been good and performed in a timely manner.
  6. Yeah I would be looking for an after market wheel. Acceleration isn't the biggest concern to me after all it is a heavy SUV. I also plan on looking into upgrading the suspension to the sport setup if possible or an after market setup that is comparable.
  7. Thanks for all the replies. Rocket I'm with you I prefer a more sure footed ride and like to feel the feed back from the road a bit more. Used to have an e46 m3 and boy I miss that car. I did notice the towing capacity per ford drops to 2000lbs with 22" wheels but the only thing I'll be towing is my trailer with my quad or dirt bike to the sand dunes. After hearing the feed back thus far I think I'm leaning towards 22s just because to me the 20" wheel is still kind of factory looking by today's standards. Thanks again for the input and if anyone else has anything to add please do.
  8. i recently purchased a barely used 2012 edge se and it has the factory 17" alloys on it. the tires will be needing replacing sooner than later and i'd like to take the opportunity to upgrade to something a little more visually appealing. i am tossed between 20" or 22" wheels and i'd like to hear the pro's, con's and opinions about it. the reason i'm looking at 20"+ is i feel anything smaller and i might as well stay with what i have. i have read about the ride quality on the 22" wheels and was wanting to know how bad we're talking. i have a kia soul on factory 18" wheels with 45 series tires and the ride is harsh but not too bad. i'd really like to go with the 22" because i think it looks the best and fills the wheel well nicely. please feel free to post experiences or opinions. thanks
  9. if you are going to dip the emblems there is no need to remove them from the car. if you go to dip your car.com or search for them on you tube there is a tutorial on how to do it. basically you just mask off an area around the emblems, spray the desired amount of coats, peel tape and peel the dip from around the emblems. the plasti-dip tends to follow edges (like that on an emblem) automatically. but if you do want to remove the emblem, dental floss or fishing string and a pair of gloves will do the trick
  10. i just purchased and installed the DDM 5000k 55w kit. i got the mounting brackets but didnt end up using them, but make sure to get the relay wiring harness.
  11. VHT night shades is what i have used in the past. the more you put on the darker it gets. do both tail lights at the same time and side by side to get them as evenly coated as possible. the night shades dries in a flat finish so be sure to clear them.
  12. i say do plastidip. you're more likely to get bubbles if you apply the vinyl yourself. and plastidip is probably cheaper anyways. everything you need to know about plastidip can be found on the dip your car website including dozens of colors and finishes of plastidip.
  13. looks good. my wife is leaning towards the black grill. any chance you can post a pic from further back and during the day so i show my wife its a good idea?
  14. good luck, take pictures and post them up.
  15. thanks for the replay, i'm thinking of buying to complete kits from DDM so I have a spare of everything. thanks again
