  1. I think I would look into the Squires Turbo System which replaces the mufflers in the rear of the vehicle with twin turbos, one per side. There is no intercooling needed because the pressurized air from the turbos is routed back up to the throttle body in the front of the engine. The piping from the back to the front handles the cooling. I have seen several different applications on their site but not an Edge, Should work if you can sort out the air/fuel management issues with bigger injectors and fuel pump. BTW my other car is a supercharged o7 mustang converted to a shelby look alike.
  2. OK so here is a way to get around the system. Simply go to the map, make it large enough so that you are in the general area, touch the general area you want to go, now you are in POI mode which works while driving, get the map blown up larger and larger until you hit where you want to go perfectly then set to for a destination. Of course it only works if you know where to go
  3. I just did this and the difference is immediate and very noticeable on 93 octane tune. The truck/car/whatever just moves out now. "Similar" to a stock Mustang GT in feel, but not in sound of course. Very edgy no pun intended. Gas mileage is not affected at all, around 21 hwy at 70 mph. I have not yet tried the hi mileage 87 octane tune but will one day. Just having too much fun and yes I know that I am paying a 3 bucks more per tank to get these jollies. Its worth it to me to know when I want to pass a semi-tractor trailer on a two lane I can do it safely. Thanks Fred and the guys at Evolution, you did a great job on this tune.
  4. I recently purchased an all black edge with black interior and red accents and 20 inch factory wheels. Love the truck but I needed more. So I lowered it with H&R springs about 1.5 inches and dramatically changed the way it handles. Next I added a Wheelskin Euro steering wheel cover, red on top and bottom, and black on the side. It matches the red inserts of the sport seat package perfectly. Takes about 45 minutes to sew on by hand but worth it. Next I put on some tires and wheels I had in my garage from an Escape I had sold. They are Black ARI 18" rims (BBS copy) and 255/50/18 Kumho Ecsta STX tires. These are about 2 inches wider than the Pirellis so its kind of go cart in the feeling. Last on the mod list is the SCT tune which on 93 octane just woke the truck right up. It just leaps to your input and turns on a dime. I am going back to the 20's because I don't have the sensors built in and the 18's are about an inch shorter so I would have to reprogram the computer. So back in the garage they go. If you want them and live near me in New York City (shipping tires is a pain) let me know. They have about 3000 miles on them, in great shape and I would let the wheels and tires go for $400.
  5. I hope that people know that this isn't one of those Forums and that this is the exact area of the Forum that this level of informed discussion is supposed to be discussed. Otherwise why have a forum except to have everyone say yeah I left it stock and boy am is it perfect just the way it is. I have the Ford Nav and I have a Garmin for my other car. Programming while driving is child's play. Programming while underway is locked out of the Ford system because of potential litigation. I don't like to sit on the side of the road every time I want to program my Nav and also when I want to look for music on Sirius. I actually resent this feature a great deal. So if you find a way please post a reply and forget about the Nav-nannies.
  6. I have an SCT3 on order from Evolution, and am considering changing my tires/wheels from factory to aftermarket. The aftermarkets are about 1 inch less diameter. Does anyone know if you can change the tire size parameters yourself or do you have to send it back to the tuner. BTW I only have access to Mac computers.
  7. Ha ha I have it now with the H&R springs and an SCT tune on the way. BTW the Edge looks so much better when lowered and it handles great as well.
  8. I looked closely at the 9 as well but went for the Edge for the following reasons: The Mazda is too heavy for this motor I love Sync I have come to rely on the keypad entry on Fords With new springs from H&R it handles like the 9 The panoramic roof is great I get charged $10 bucks extra in NYC garages with the 9 not the Edge The wife loves the Edge I have and Explorer for off road but never use the 6th and 7th seat
  9. I ordered and got a new edge limited in black, appearance package, AWD, roof, satellite radio, nav and 20" wheels, Before I took delivery I had H&R springs installed with a 1.5-2.0 inch drop. The truck looks really great and handles extremely well. Its tight but not jarring. This is a mod I would highly recommend to anyone who drives their edge quickly. I came out of a Ford 500 which I liked but was not as fun to drive. I also own a 08 Explorer and a 07 supercharged mustang convertible that is a dead ringer for a gt 500. Has anyone put in an SCT tuner or magnaflow exhaust. I am debating whether I want to pay for premium and want to give up the quiet that is stock. Wife will probably kill me with either mod. Well its good to be here. Fakesnake
