  1. Thanks Rebecca, I am sending it over now. The auto lock came in an E-mail and we can not get rid of it unless we do a hard reset. Her company requires it to be there because of her contacts and some personal info of customers. I have set it to NOT lock for 30 mins after the screen times out , this is the max time setting. Neither of us can remember if the trouble started after the lock was installed or not.
  2. According to the ford sync web site, our Edge has Gen1 V3.1 dated 01-26-2010 and it says its up to date?
  3. I'm not sure about the software version. Ours don't have the touch screen. So I don't think there is a "help" button? I could be wrong, I don't get to drive it often....lol. We will try the soft reset on her phone and I will dig into it some more. Thanks for the help and advice.
  4. Thanks for your reply chipworkz, The Edge is her only Bluetooth connection. When she is driving and makes a call using Sync it tells her no phone found or if a all comes in while she is driving it just rings the phone and not through Sync. This is not the case every time but seems to be most of the time. She had a cheap smartphone before the Note 3 and it work every time flawlessly, I think it was a Samsung "Stratosphere?". The only thing I can think that might be an issue is, that her work has put an Auto lock on the phone because she uses it also on the job. I have noticed the phone doesn't show the Bluetooth symbol when its locked but when I unlocked it it's there......
  5. We bought a '10 Edge limited used and we are enjoying it quit well. So far. My wife drives it and has had no problems with the Sync system until she got a new phone, the Note 3. Now the system won't stay connected to her phone. Sometimes it works and sometimes it won't. Any Ideas as what to look at settings wise? She leaves the Bluetooth on all the time. I have tried un-pairing and then setting it up again.....same issues. We never know when its going to work. Thanks
  6. 2010 Limited AWD 45K miles, paid 21k USD
  7. I don't think the '10 model had this function. I can't find it on ours if it does!
  8. I had to replace one in the 500 we just traded in for our '10 Edge. First thing is to determine which pad in the drivers seat is bad (seat bottom or seat back). Our 500 would not work if either was bad. The first one I put in was the seat back and checked it with an ohm meter. I called our local O'riley parts house and they ordered me what I needed (i think it was 60-65 dollars). Dorman was the company and it turned out that that is who made them for Ford (the original one had the same name on it). About a year later I had to do the seat bottom. It wasn't hard to do, it just took some time. I would recommend you go to a Tractor Supply Co store and buy "hog ring pliers and hog rings". The ones that come with the heating pad are not very good.
  9. Mine was missing as well. I had the local ford dealer order it. It cost 4.62 + tax and they had it the next day.
  10. I thought that all the side glass and roof glass was tempered safety glass and would just shatter on impact. I didn't know it could crack? Wow....best of luck.
  11. Ours is missing on our 2010. I took the part # and called the local Ford dealer. They have to order it and it will cost $4.62. I should have it tomorrow. Don't be afraid to call the dealer, sometime they will surprise you.
  12. Would the fans not come on when the A/C was turned on? I thought that the A/C would over-ride any controller/thermostat and turn on the fans?
  13. Thanks for the replies. My wife drives this car all the time as she did in the 500. I very seldom get to drive it unless we take a trip. She was great at getting the oil changed when the 500 told her too. It will be a bit of an adjustment for her to go by the mileage. The cruise cancel button was just a great perk on the 500. You could cancel the cruise without tapping the brake and and then resume without having to reset the speed. It was just handy and I was glad to see that Ford had finally did that. Now its gone again.... must have been a costly item. Does anything have the adjustable pedals now? I had thought that was a bit silly anyway. I do like the Edge and It surer is easier to park than the 500 was. I know my wife struggled parking the 500. Before the 500 she drove a 98 "Exploder" which we handed down to my son, and she loved that truck. The edge reminds me, the way it sits of the Explorer. Fuel mileage is not quite what I was hoping for. She is getting around 20-21 mpg in my area (north east TN). The 500, which is a bigger car, got much better. Great forum and lots of info here. I am sure I will have more questions.
  14. We just traded our '06 Five Hundred Limited for the '10 Edge Limited and seem to be missing some stuff.... Our Five Hundred had adjustable pedals and a "cancel button" on the steering wheel for the cruise. It also had an oil life monitor that I really do miss. The Edge seems to be more sophisticated in other areas but lacking in these areas. Why would it not have an oil life monitor? The cancel button on the cruise was just the other side of the "resume" button and I liked having it. The adjustable pedals I didn't care for either way. Also I thought I had read that the 2010 Edge Limited had 20" wheels and mine has the 18" wheels....they are the chrome ones. Any thoughts or input on this stuff? The dealer told my wife when she took it in for an oil change that this car has the base model computer and the higher end ones had the better computer with the oil life monitor. Well this is the Limited model so I am thinking that it should be the "higher end model" Is this guy pulling my chain or is there any truth to what he has told my wife? Thanks for any and all thoughts on this stuff.
