  1. Also please include what you are paying for it and where you are buying.

So I just got a hold of the prices for the 2016 Edge down here.

I guess you US folks should really thank God or your superior being of choice for having the luck and privilege of living in the US.

2016 Ford Edge Sport - Costa Rica price = $71,500.

Yep, seventy one thousand, five hundred dollars.

And also consider that there is a yearly government "road tax" that would require to shell out an extra $2000 each year for driving this car.

  2. Any way of fixing this?

    Howdy,

Look what I came about on a reddit - http://www.reddit.com/r/Ford/comments/34aq3i/picked_up_my_2015_edge_sport_over_the_weekend/

A Ford technician explains this could be a boost leak. Seems to be related to the total loose of turbo from this other thread.

Apparently you nee to check the charge air cooler hose to be all the way in and securely clamped.

  3. Any ideas on how to test for this problem when picking up the car at the dealership?

Like maybe throwing water at it with a hose or something?

They all just want you to sign off on the delivery and hope that you don't return with problems, therefore I'd suggest testing this at the moment you go pick up the car at the dealership.

  4. Alright,

It's been a few months since the 2015 has been on the roads.

So far these are some of the issues some folks complain about the newer edge:

1- A rattle comes from the back, but it hasn't been determined what causes it. There is a suspicion of the spare tire container being the one to blame.

2- Turbos blow up. On the Sport model, apparently giving it too much juice will blow some hoses on the engine. It has to be taken to the dealership for reattach the hoses and tighten the hose holders a bit more.

3- The rear door liftgate apparently is assembled in a way that the gaps between each side are different, length wise, one gap is shorter than the other.

4- Lane keep assist apparently doesn't recognize road merges or exits and will try to stir you back.

5- Bolts on the direction can corrode and break on places were roads are treated with salt during winter. It was said that there was a recall for this issue.

Is there anything else I'm missing?

  5. I noticed in my auto liftgate to make the "kick" of my foot work that it works when I kick straight under the bumper right next to my trailer hitch, not wave my foot side to side don't know if that helps, but mine is very consistent when I do that

rmmick, does the tow package comes with a wiring harness for lights and electric brakes on traliers?

  6. Hello,

This got me thinking. If you get Hands Free Lifgate, wouldn't the OEM Class II Tow Package interfere with it?

I mean, when you kick below the rear bumper to open the liftgate, having the Tow Package sticking out there will make you hit it with your leg doesn't it?

    Sorry for the noob question.

    Thanks.

This is a picture of the hitch from Ford.com

  7. Ok so I arrived at Boyne Mountain Resort today coming from cleveland.....turnpike to 23 north. On turnpike I set my cruise at 73 once I hit the Michigan border, I had cruise set at 80 and rpm's about 2200 (see pic). I ran 80 for over 2 1/2 hours straight. The pic shows my "combined mpg" from cleveland...based in what I expirenced a couple of weeks ago when she was brand new, i do feel that there is a "break-in" period of sorts as my mileage is increasing. At 2000rpm the car settles in at about 73 mph....mpg at almost 27, at 1900 rpm the car is doing about 69mph and getting about 30, I think the "sweet spot" is about 1850 rpm and about 67 mph. I have now with the last 3 fill ups gotten the DTE to read consistently above 400 miles to empty. As high as 442. It is nice to see the fuel gage between full and 3/4 and showing 375 to empty, prior I was averaging about 100 miles per 1/4 tank of fuel as far as the DTE calculations went. I am noticing that especially at highway speeds, a really noticeable "turbo lag" when accelerating, especially beyond the 3000 rpm that I noticed earlier as a real power/torque pick-up point. I really have to jump on it to get up and go. Shifting into "s" mode does not seem to really help at at highway speeds, much more responsive around town 35-50.attachicon.gifimage.jpgattachicon.gifimage.jpg

hey rmmick, what kind of fuel do you put in it? (octanes?)

  8. I'm hoping somebody does the same tests for a Titanium Ecoboost AWD and post them here.

All reviews websites that have written articles of their driving experiences only test the Sport.

  9. Good catch. I will look at later today. I also noticed the last second "slam" of the rear door. Speaking of which, my next door neighbor works for a suppler who is responsible for all the programming of the robotic machines. His company uses their robots to fit the doors and the glass. In particular the windshield and rear glass. Anyway, he noticed that the gaps surrounding my rear door are not consistent. Driver side fit/finish is nice and tight, while the passenger side has a noticeable gap. He stated that the door needs to be re-aligned by lossening the bolts of the hinges at the top and relight ended down. Now, to me it is like having a "spot in my shirt that I know about and is hard for others to see". Possibly this has something to do with the "slam" according to him. It seems as though especially after having closing the rear door manually, that the door should have to "slam" it's way down. It does have a mechanism that pulls the door into lock position after it closes. My Escape seemed to do the same thing, so maybe it is a design issue.

    rmmick,

can you post pictures of the gaps for us?

I'll like to compare the front and back gaps.

    thanks
