  1. I installed a deflector that I purchased at the local Ford Dealer. It was easy to install and looks really nice! Have another person hold one end of the deflector and mark the holes to be drilled. Use a drill "stopper" 1/8 of an inch so that when you go through the first layer of the hood "lip" the drill won't jump into the next layer of the lip (which is the hood underside).
  2. I replaced my grill with a billet (total including installation $300). It looks unbelievable!
  3. If you do a search for the 2009 Prius (coming out in Spring 09), you will find the next generation will produce much more power and much better MPG than the current model. When a vehicle has adequate power, comfort and 60 MPG, I'm afraid I will have to give it serious consideration when my lease is up in 2010. Meanwhile, I will enjoy the power, comfort , versitility and style of my EDGE.
  4. My 08 SEL FWD has about 5000 miles and the best I've seen so far (combined freeway and city driving) is 18.3 MPG. I was hoping for 20 overall when I leased the Edge-- a bit of a disapointment. Anyway, even though I like everything else about the car, I will be seriously considering the "ugly" 60 MPG Toyota Prius in 2010-- enough is enough. Gas in So Cal is already at $4.00 a gallon, so the Prius is looking better and better!
  5. I guess peception is reality for some. 99.9% of the user reviews for the Edge hail the smooth ride of the vehicle. This is the second time I have read of a "punishing ride" (Motor Trend), or a "harsh ride" (C&D). How can this be? Does the Edge really have a poor ride compared to the other crossovers out there?
  6. Still looking for opinions on the H&R spring replacement. I would like to improve handling of course, but NOT at the expense of the "cushy" OEM ride. Any opinions?
  7. I put one on my black Edge. Looks awsome! It blends in with the lines of the vehicle nicely. Make sure you put on all 5 plastic bumpers for maximum support.
  8. I originally had 35% on the two front windows, but was unhappy with the look from the get-go. Recently, I had them take it off and put on 20%. It looks absolutely amazing. Perfect blend with factory tint on rears. Just be careful, it is rather dark!
  9. Those springs really intrigue me. They make the vehicle look really nice. However, I am not willing to sacrifice a nice soft ride (I'm over 50) for better handling. I'm sure it handles better, but how does it "ride" in everyday driving and differing road conditions?
  10. If an Edge owner (say someone elderly) wanted a slightly softer ride, would MKX struts bolt right on to the Edge suspension providing slightly more damping? Since they are coilovers, the Edge springs I assume, could remain.
  11. I was wondering if the suspension on the MKX and Edge were identical, or if the engineers softened the springs and struts of the MKX to provide a "cushier" ride.
