  1. cv27: I got standard 19" rims/tires; so would be sportier with a larger size.

Someone mentioned "surround" vs "stereo" for the radio. Surround is much better! (Thanks)

On the left information center: I wanted the digital speedometer, and my husband wanted the tach. I've settled on the tach since the speed is digitally displayed when I have the cruise set, which is all I wanted anyway. (He didn't care for the vertical tach, can't blame him.)

  2. I just got my Titanium and the only way I can see that it could be 'sported up' would be to get the bigger tires and better rims. (I got standard 19.) Too hard to change the exhaust pipes. I like my black on black interior so far; didn't like ceramic I had previously for already-stated reasons of too hard to look clean. And with the cooled seats the black leather in the summer shouldn't be an issue. But I agree that Ford should make the option available--we all like to have a choices! (Same goes for the heated-steering wheel and receiver hitch.)

  3. I have 2015 Edge Titanium with hitch. I can 'kick' on either the right or left side of the receiver and the lift gate will open/close. No visible sensors. I read there is a sensor on the bumper for our shin to trigger and also a sensor underneath for our toe, so both need to be activated. (A safety so we don't trigger the hatch to open just by walking past it.)

Unless my hands are full with stuff, it's just as easy to open/close the lift gate with the button on the inside and outside of the lift gate.

Nice picture you shared from Ford of the electrical pin/plug in. Some else had asked about that.

  4. I had Sync in my 2008 Edge and now in my 2015 Edge. Setting up to my iPhone 5 was no problem and brought in all my contacts. So far voice recognition is fine, but as before, Sync may find more than one match for the name you say, depending how they are set up in your contacts, but at least all the choices are listed on the large screen to make a secondary selection.

I didn't have MFT before, so it'll take me a while to figure out when it's best to use Sync's voice commands vs. MFT screen.

  5. More reviews/observations:

2015 Ford Edge Titanium Bronze Fire w/ Ebony Black

Dealer: only $75 DOC fee and only 1.9 miles upon possession -- good and good.

USB does charge my iPhone when car is on, not sure about when car is off (manual says not to, could drain the battery.)

Storage: small 'tray' by door sill; room for a flashlight. Flip-door in front of shifter will always be open to hold phone, etc.

No longer storage under rear seats, will stay cleaner this way tho. Glove box and center console are smaller than 2008.

Wind noise from driver's window this morning. ?

Rims: new style is fine, but not very shiny, like true chrome.

Not a SPORT so I got heating steering wheel-yeh!, but dual exhaust is round, and not as integrated as the Sport.

Left Information screen: sooo much buried in here and the .PDF manual isn't laid out very well; will take more time...

No problem doing ambient lighting, garage door opener or wallpaper pic's from SD card and radio presets (Don't use AST).

Need to figure out : Key FOB/ MyKey/memory seats, and overhead console buttons--can't be any worse than 2008's.

Hands-free lift gate: Thanks for all the help! I finally got it to work. Left or right side of hitch receiver, straight under till my ankle about touches, and kinda quickly. My dealer said I wouldn't have this with a hitch in the way--I'll have to go show him! I looked underneath but no visible sensors.

In the spare tire area there is a hook on the underside of the carpeted mat. Remove the hook with the tether and hook to the upper rubber gasket to hold the mat up. See pic.

  6. Laugh for the day: (Good thing this forum is anonymous)

I deleted my door code one day too soon; I'm trading it in after work today, but locked it on my lunch hour--with both sets of keys inside!

Of course the un-memorized factory code is safely hidden in the glove box.

    No, I'm not blonde:)

  7. EnviroGuard is the paint sealant and interior protected that I bought for $599 plus tax. 7 year warranty with a repair kit for touch ups. Covers small damage to interior fabric also. Thanks for the heads-up on car washes; I'll read the fine print when I get it. Hope it's a good product for the price. It's the only one my dealer had to offer. (7 years is the longest I usually have a vehicle, but we'll see; I'll try to keep this one as long as possible.) [Call it the 7 year itch!]

I'm ignoring the PTU discussion, BTW.

  8. I'm working on the trade in of our 2008 Edge; running it thru the dealer to save on sales tax, but we have a buyer that needs to be present also to do all the paperwork. A bit surreal at the moment after waiting so long. I have had my old Edge unload/emptied so many times, but stuff keeps creeping back in...

Mom taught me how to use MFT and key-fob in her Lincoln on Sunday, so I'm ready to roll!

  9. My 2015 Ford Edge is in town at my dealer! I will either get it this evening or tomorrow night. Ordered on February 12th, so exactly 3 months for delivery. They are doing mud flaps all around for me--hope they don't detract from it's appearance too much. I'll try to get pictures posted here by this weekend...

Warranty $1,780 with no deductible for 6 years/100,000 miles. (I'll reach 6 years 1st.) Sound reasonable?

  10. I sent a PM to FordService earlier this week and Meagan replied. My ETA has been moved from May 10th to the 15th (next Friday, a week from today). Sure would be nice to have it next weekend to have time to do all the techie set up stuff:) I've checked out some MFT wallpaper for the screen (already saved some on an SD card). Had my 2008 detailed and tuned-up this week, will have to touch it up again before handing it over to our buyer. Still looks great with 72,000 miles on it. Anyway, nice to have my current Edge back after driving my hubby's 2001 Bonneville for a few days.

  11. etis.ford report has 4/27/2015 for a build date, and it was online for me on 4/28. Now I reprinted it on 5/1 because it's 4 pages with all the features listed. I ran into my dealer today, he said it's in transit and should be here in the coming week. Tricia at Ford had said 5/10, so it's getting close! Now my hubby is feeling the pressure to get my 2008 Edge ready to sell (we have a buyer). I have my STUFF emptied out--yes, I'm a typical woman who keeps everything but the kitchen sink in her vehicle! I have good intentions not to 'sow-up' the new one (my husband's phrase). But you can bet that all the hidden storage areas will be full:)

The etis report is a bit crazy with all the LESS... options that it doesn't have. I don't know what half of them are/or they aren't even options in the first place.

If I can figure out how to post pictures, mine will be the first Bronze Fire on this forum, and not a Sport.

  12. Warranty: Thanks for the feedback so far! I won't have loan payments to worry about (thank goodness) and can afford repairs, but they would still bite. I put on about 15,000 miles/year, so reasonable, not excessive. With my 'new vehicle' syndrome, I suppose most initial issues should be under factory warranty (I've never had a factory warranty). Still pondering...

  13. ESP: Extended Service Plans -- Please share you opinion of warranty plans offered by Ford. I see four listed in the manual (online):

    PremiumCARE

    ExtraCARE

    BaseCARE

    PowertrainCARE

I will need to make a decision within a couple weeks when my 2015 Edge is delivered. We aren't normally warranty people, but sometimes we have for major purchases, but never for a vehicle. But then again, I've never bought new before either. (And since it's 2nd generation Edge--new production, I am leaning toward it.)

  14. I've mentioned before that I'm not a huge fan of white or a huge fan of the black grille, but put them both together and a white sport looks pretty sweet!

I'm curious if you've ever been to the Barrett Jackson auction in January. PM me about it if you care to elaborate... (My husband and I would like to go to it some year.)
