  1. Yeah, that one went out a bit fast, sorry. The biggest "trick" on an Edge or MKX w/vista is avoiding all the rubber. You really have to take your time on the small amount of paint that's up there when polishing and glazing. Once you finish the paint a little Mother's Back To Black will put a uniform shade on the black and take care of any polish you may get on it. Then clean the roof glass with a good glass cleaner, I like Stoner's Invisible Glass.
  2. If your detailer doesn't know what to do with your roof, find another detailer.
  3. Make sure you get it clean before applying protectant. I use a diluted solution of regular old Woolite (maybe a capful to a gallon of water) Does a great job and nice and gentle. Once it's clean, I am +1 on the 303.
  4. You certainly shouldn't have to live with a rattle. I do agree with waiting until first service, it may go away and save you the trouble. I have a problem with my '08 MKX (1700 miles) When no one is in the passenger seat, it vibrates. Not awful, but annoying. I'm going to leave it until my 5000 mile service and have them check it out then.
  5. Unfortunately being in another country may make resolution more difficult, but you never know. I would get the zone manager for Ford involved as well as the credit company if you financed it. I've found Ford Credit to be very helpful in the past with issues on the car that didn't really deal with the financing. Be a pita and talk to everyone you can, the squeeky wheel gets the grease so squeek as loud as you can. As for posting your VIN on a public forum... I think we can all agree that there is no reason to do that.
  6. This is a couple of days after I got it (about 3 weeks ago) 1200 miles so far and I'm very happy with it. This is my 12th. Ford Credit lease since 1994 and this may be my favorite so far. Pretty much loaded, moonroof, nav, heated rears, 20's. This is a nice forum, looking forward to contributing.
  7. Sadly this is the kind of stuff that tears into profit margins and makes great companies unprofitable. I have an '08 MKX with less than 1G on it and noticed that the chrome isn't consistent on the rims, there is brass showing in the corners. I'll point it out at first service though I'm not sure they'll replace them.
  8. I spent alot of time looking the Edge Sport over at the NY Auto Show. Sadly it was locked, but there was a very helpful guy from Ford there and he said the Sport would be priced well below the Limited. The goal ,apparently, is to attract even more of a youthful market who may not have as much $$ to spend on their car. Overall I really liked it. Very sporty without a "boy racer" look.
