you really butchered the first cut lol
? yeah I did. The seam is there by design however. Drilling by hand with a "tap" drill... Yeah it was not so precise at times.

So just to update everyone, I haven't had a chance to take the car in. That said, I've put over 400 miles on it since my charge air hose blew off the intercooler and I'm without further incident. Looking back on the photos I took, there appears to be a white line painted on the hose, instructing the installer how far to push the hose onto the IC fitting. The little clip I still have as a souvenir appears to establish the distance from the end of the tube to where the hose clamp resides. The combination of these assembly aids theoretically creates a repeatable assembly process. I'm not convinced they set it up correctly or it is not entirely foolproof. In my case, the other end of this hose was not installed square to the engine side fitting, so I corrected that too while I was in there. At this point, since I have no further issues, I'm staying out of the dealer.

Vent mount. Kenu Air Frame, the large size. Not the best because the angle of the vent itself means the phone will sit at an angle, but it is within easy reach.

Take a look on the end of the turn signal stalk. There is a button. Press this to turn on or shut off the system. Since its a black button on the end of a black stalk and you might not even know you pressed it. Similar to the right hand stalk button for the rear wiper.

Actually there is a TSB that just came out for this issue. One of the pipes from the charge air cooler has come loose, easy fix. This also was an issue with the Explorer Sport and Fusion 2.0L when they first came out. These engines put out quite a bit of boost so all the plumbing needs to be tight.
Thanks for letting me know Magnetic. I was able to stick my phone down and aim it at the intercooler and you were right, the charge air pipe was off. I did my best to put it back on and tighten it up. We'll see how well it holds up. Access to the hose clamp is troublesome (had to pull out the air box). I'm left with a bonus part that fell off the hose clamp. Some kind of retainer. I'll have to take it to the dealer and let them fix it the right way.

470 miles in 5 days and here is my initial impression: Great overall package.
Roses for things they nailed where it counts:
- Interior noise is very low. People can hear me when making hands free calls.
- 2.7 Acceleration. Also impressed that it uses the AWD even in normal acceleration. The little infographic is useful for this.
- Calm cruiser. Available torque at low rpm keeps the trans from shifting under mild acceleration, even at 80 on the highway. I skipped getting a MKZ 2.0 in the same price range for this very reason.
- Dash cluster displays are very clear.
- Panoramic roof is a mood enhancer. It brightens up the darth vader interior. (please give me cognac next time)
- Real buttons on the console! Hope the trend continues until the knobs discover knobs.
Gripes:
- Panoramic roof button logic. Jeep GC has this figured out. Ford solution: No express close. No ability to go from open to vent or vice versa without having to manually close it first. OK, you don't want to hurt anyone, but 12" of pinch clearance.... really?
- The touch screen response is complete garbage and the menus are not intuitive. Expecting next gen sync to fix this. Enough has been said elsewhere on this subject, so I can't say I didn't know what I was getting into.
- Lane keep assist. I don't like it. Not on low. Not on medium. Not on high level of assist. Not in a house. Not with a mouse. Not in a tree. I do not like it, now let me be. Same with the vibrations. When cruising in the RH lane and the white line breaks for an entrance ramp, when it sees the wide white line that comes after the merging area, the car reacts by steering to the left. Annoying. It makes me feel like a buffoon when driving. I will continue to play with it to determine if it enhances any part of my driving experience. At this point, it's a novelty. Look ma, no hands!
- Who came up with the left TFT screen menu mapping. How about just scrolling through the display options to see my fuel economy and not having to go back, then down, then to the right. Same with the trip function. Don't need to dig through menus to get to basic function. The speed limit sign on the right screen is cool, but it should be right next to the cruise control setting information.
- When starting the car in the morning, I have to reduce the temp down to 65 or lower. If I don't, within a few miles as the engine warms up, the Auto mode on HVAC is trying to cook me for breakfast.
- Ummm what's up with the tow rating of the Sport and the lack of ability to put a tow hitch on it? Doesn't make sense that the 3.5 is rated higher.
- Why did I need to get 301A to get factory remote start and why does the Titanium get a heated steering wheel, but the Sport not?

Picked up my new Edge Sport on Tuesday, drove it 470 miles in 5 days. Love how quiet and smooth it is at any speed. Love how it doesn't need to downshift with mild acceleration even on the highway.
Unfortunately, coming home tonight, after accelerating out of a right hand turn (not hard) something went pffffft.... like the car passed gas! No more turbos. No check engine light. Ran a vehicle health report, says all is good.....
Right after it happened, I tried to see if any turbo plumbing had disconnected, but from what little I can see, everything appears ok. Pulled the dipstick and removed a bit of silicone RTV that was adhered to the end of it. Opened the oil fill cap and smoke was coming out. Not billowing, but who knows what it was because it did not smell and maybe it is normal after driving on the open road for an hour, I don't know. The engine temp (or cylinder head temp as it may be) gage on the dash shows normal. Took it for a short ride an hr later and the car idles smoothly, but it has to wind up more to get going and as expected, is gutless without the turbos. I bet I'll see lots of eco before I get my boost back. Gotta wait until Monday. Stay tuned. Guess this is what comes when you are on the cutting "Edge" of new technology.

Lovely when it happens on a weekend. You plan on taking it to the dealer? If not I can provide tips.
