  1. Anybody from Ford on this forum? My dealer needs some help figuring out what's wrong other then just the hotline. They've replaced sensors and now the "body" computer. They kept the car for two weeks and that still didn't fix it. This has been dragging out for over a year! For $45,000 I expext a car I can drive. I don't use the self park anymore, I don't trust the sensor system! I'm about to find a lemon law lawyer....
  2. I couldn't tell from under the vehicle where the sensor was. It doesn't work from the middle anymore, but to either side of the hitch it works fine.
  3. Just installed a Draw-Tite 75234 that I got from Amazon for $141 with free shipping. I also purchased a T connector wiring kit for $55 made by Tekonsha. It connects without cutting any wires. Draw-Tite is made by Cequent, which labels them for Hidden Hitch, Draw-tite and Reese. Installation did take a couple hours having the back end up on ramps. You do need a 5.5 and 10mm socket, but I didn't need a torx bit. I think that's only for the Lincoln model. Somebody posted they had to remove the exhaust rings? I don't think that was in the instructions. I just pulled the plastic fascia a little and the exhaust dropped down. Not real happy that the hitch only has 8" of ground clearance. There is plenty of room to move the hitch up, just requires some cutting of the fascia. I've seen other year models that have the fascia cut for the hitch and they look fine. Also the hole I use in the picture is a lot closer and easier to feed the wire through. I only takes a couple passes with a file to allow the large washer to fit. Also found a wiring harness on the passenger sire, see picture. I wonder if it was for the factory trailer wiring kit.
  4. No Recalls? I can't believe I'm the only Edge only who is having this problem. I'm thinking it isn't the collision avoidance. The manual shows the sensitivity is adjustable but I don't even see it in the setup. The dealer disabled the drive alert display, which is a different display anyway. They want me to test it by turning off the cross traffic alert, which has to be turned off every time you start the car. It didn't, it still goes off.. BUT since I got it back it doesn't go off anywhere near as much as it had been... but still a lot more then it did the 1sr few months I owned the car. I can turn the The alert off by pressing the parking aid (self park) button on by console. So it may be related to that system. It's has something to do with the radar. I have a picture loaded in my media od the screen, don't know how to post it here. Car going back to the dealer, for almost $50,000 I expect it to work correctly! On another electronic note, I also complained that the clock loses time, about a minute a month. Hadn't really tracked it but Ford says it's within specs of the 30-45 sec per month... Gosh, I haven't had a car in the past 30 years, 2 Honda's, a Toyota, Chevy even several Fords and I've never had to change the minutes on them.
  5. Is anybody having their collision avoidance act erratic? For the past 6 months or so my collision avoidance system will go off just pulling up to a red light. Doesn't have to have any cars next to me. The dealer had the car for 3 days and couldn't find anything wrong with it. Said they couldn't get it to go off and there wasn't any codes set. Really? I went to pick it up and took the tech for a drive. We didn't even get out of the drive way and it went off. They said I'd have to leave it for a week or so and they'd have to get somebody from FORD to come out and look at it. Really, nobody else has had this problem?
  6. AutoAnything website has the Curt Hitch for $144.99 plus thru 8/17 free shipping and 15% off
  7. I checked with Hidden Hitch this week. They said it's still with the engineers and they're still testing, no updated eta. Check back in a month or two.
  8. Great! I was just looking thru the Ford web site on how to download Pandora app. Found out you can't do it in the TOP of the line Ford Edge Sport with SYNC with MYFORD TOUCH! Only in the cheaper version. I also found out two other disturbing items, one is sounds like I lose the voice commands and traffic updates if I don't renew with Sirius. I knew it had a Sirius radio... but didn't realize the $700 navigation was Sirius. I can buy a stand aloe nav and it'll have traffic updates, etc for life for less money. The other BIG item was the Sync 3 just came out on the 2015 Escape and will be in the 2016 Edge. If I had know FORD was dumping their highly advertised Myford touch, I would have waited or bought something else! I love this car but for $45,000 ... by next year, later this year all this high tech will be junk
  9. I used iTunes to manage my music when I had an Iphone. After I got a Galaxy I got the iSyncr app. It allowed me to copy my iTunes playlist WITH the songs to my phone. I found by having a folder name iSyncr on a USB drive it thought it was anther phone?? and allowed me to copy songs with the playlist as well. Only thing you have to do is change the formatting, Apple uses / and Ford Sync uses the Windows standard of \. I opened each playlist in my Windows wordpad and did a simple find and replace option. told it to find all / and replace it with \. Only took a couple minutes to do all my playlists on the thumb drive, Now my 2015 Edge Sport recognizes the playlists!
  10. If you look on Ford's website, the base price for a SEL is 31,500 for the std I-4, 31,925 for the v-6 and 32,995 for the 2.0 I-4 Ecoboost. That's only 1,500 more then the std engine. I can't talk for durability, but I just purchased a 2015 Sport with the 2.7 V-6 Ecoboost. Sure runs good. we'll see how it lasts!
