  1. Hi Tricia, I'm eagerly awaiting my ford private cash offer to buy another one. Can you help me out or direct my request to the appropriate people that can make it happen? Thanks.
  2. Mr. Dover, Thanks for the update. Sorry to hear. Why are demands, expectations, and ford's accountability less because it's a fleet vehicle? I'll bet after you have your new ford back, you'll drive it and want to spend your own money on another! ford is the best in my book, they just made a mistake. the lesson you should probably take away is never buy a new model year as these and other bugs crop up. it's good that this water leak didn't cause anyone serious bodily harm too(unlike sticky gas/brake pedals, etc.). One more thing: Go Bears!
  3. Yes, thanks for that correction, my bad. Good news on that MKX too, thanks. Going to test drive one this weekend.
  4. i'm sure ford will cover your rental costs, send them the receipts. take pictures of your car, in case you need them. i get the whole ruined experience thing, no doubt. Ford better have fired the team responsible for this issue. I get crazy when i hear stories like this one. I want ford to be great and a global leader, not a wet mess. hopefully you'll hear back about a buy back soon. it's stories like these that make me think i'm crazy for going to buy another one. uggh, maybe i should just stick with an explorer!!! i wonder if the lincoln mkx has the same issue. Edgey Guy, any thoughts?
  5. Do you mean a VIN ending in 50000 or greater? If not the vin, which number and is it located on the window sticker? Thanks.
  6. Congrats jbastible82!!! It sounds like you're getting a credit and no refund? More options are better than none. I guess if that's satisfying to you (and really happy you're sticking with Ford), the MSRP way sounds easier. At least there's no real renegotiation (except if you go over, then expect the same % off that you originally got from MSRP). Maybe Ford is stepping up here after all? Time will tell. Let's hope we hear similar resolutions for everyone else.
  7. From Fordedge facebook (go to that page, click on the post to page link on left, and scroll down the many comments, some related to this wet topic): Guy Purcell‎Ford Edge July 8 at 2:57pm · Great cars...till it rains...and the door pillars leak...and the rugs get saturated...and the inside begins to wreek...and your Ford dealer refuses to take it back...did I mention it's only a few weeks old? FORD SUCKS!! Ford Service Hey Guy, Let's see your Edge great on those rainy days too! Is your ride a 2015? How many miles are on it? I'm happy to look into this leaking situation. Sarah Ford Service Guy Purcell It's not mine...it's my niece Taras. She also commented.First Ford has been giving her the runaround, told her the car would be repaired after it flooded(Now a salvage vehicle,NOT a recall issue in my opinion)at 2 weeks old.Tell her it's ready, and the carpets are still damp to the touch and it stinks of mold!I told her to have her insurance total it and sue first ford for any loss, that's what I'ld do...and report it to the local news at turn to ten,so others with the same issue know what Fords warranty is worth! 1 · July 8 at 4:55pm Another: Simeon Chiger‎Ford Edge June 24 at 2:12pm · On my 6th Ford, sad that it may be my last. 8. Tricia, 1. I returned the waterlogged car to the dealer. Thankfully the funds hadn't transferred yet for the purchase. I really am sorry I missed the 40k car rental experience, the mold, the carpet shortages, the future rust and electrical issues, etc. I certainly hope FORD pays more attention to these posts and responds faster. You have a lot of upset people on here. 2. I wrote my concerned review on edmunds.com. We should all warn others of this mess. 3. You want to know something completely crazy? I'm probably going to go try and purchase one again this week. I am so loyal to Ford, ughh!!!!! There's only one thing holding me back. How can FORD ensure that I avoid these hassles? I put my help desk ticket into ford weeks ago and haven't gotten a returned call (I was warned when placing the ticket that Ford wasn't obligated to call me back). I don't know if I should order one from the factory or avoid a build date range (there's been speculation here on exact dates), or wait a month more? A higher up contact is appreciated. A ford private cash offer may help erase the past stress and lost sleep too, and get me into the dealership faster. Look forward to hearing from you ASAP.
  9. This does look so similar!! That evaporator coil drain sounds like the issue mine had. I just assumed that evaporator coil was located outside but I was wrong. It works just like the evaporator coil on your home a/c unit! This had to be my issue on my edge. Thanks for sending and posting all of those nice pictures too! Here's an article on how these car evaporator coils work, in case anyone's interested.
  10. I doubt the fleet part means anything here, from a fix or replace perspective. First step, exchange the Rogue for something else TODAY. Second step: Start telling them you don't want this soggy POS Edge back and see if they can't set you up with a build date truck that's after this entire mess started. What's the worst they could say, no, but it may raise your priority in the backlog. If they say yes, you're in a newer/water proof edge faster, without all the hassles of it being in the shop. Ford should be half happy you want to stick with an Edge. Lots probably want to return for a refund, not an exchange! If this is a fleet, the other thought is to let your company deal with the entire lemon law thing. I guess this depends on the size of your company and how many vehicles they purchase. They may have a lot of leverage, etc. Good luck.
  11. Neptune, nice post. Thanks. You are spot on here with the connection to the AC unit expelling water into the drivers side part of the car. I had the same thing happen, no rain, A/C on, and A/C was definitely the source of condensation then water into the floor (and a ton of it, not just a little bit). I wonder if there's a more direct connection here to the water problem. I get too that rain water from a storm might enter the engine compartment too and into the cabin might be another source. If I was ford, I'd trace this single simple path first (A/C unit condensation to wet floor). It's either that firewall or A pillar or the A/C vents (like the one under the seat). The quantity of water from an AC unit isn't that great (but does vary) so there has to be a nice efficient way that water is traveling to the floor (before it evaporates after being blown all over the place). Obviously with people having repeated water problems, FORD still doesn't have a good handle on the source and/or it's communications to the dealers. Hopefully this note helps.
  12. JUST THIS WEEK I bought and returned the next day a 2015 Edge. Luckily we noticed the issue the next morning and returned within 24 hours. Yes, these Edge's are still being sold without being fixed first! Build date was March 2015. Prior to the purchase I checked all of the review sites like edmunds and cars and microsoft autos websites and none mention this fiasco. Had I known, I wouldn't have even purchased it. Why is the ford support staff monitors not offerring more detailed information on issue and fix? We have users posting TSB's and notices, instead of these Ford support people!?!?!? I called to complain to Ford and they took my information down but were more concerned about my name than my problem. The data entry person noted at the end of the call that they were not obligated to followup and return my call. SUGGESTION: If the ford support staff on this thread doesn't start offering some real detailed support and information by end of day Monday 6/29, then I would suggest one important move to all. I would think the 2015 owners need to go to the popular review sites and warn others. NOBODY SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR A 40k UNSUPPORTED LEMON. I need to buy a car within a couple of weeks and am unsure. Maybe I should order an Edge from the factory, but that sounds like a complete mess still. I think I'll just simply order the Explorer. I am not outsourcing my car purchase, go USA. I only own Fords and will stay loyal, but the lack of information by the experts is frustrating.
