The guy i spoke with said they adjust the tip in with the tune, then suggested the throttle enhancer. also, asked him about the AGS and intercooler grill to see if they could tune that out. i was told they have done it for the 2.3 mustang tune, but not the edge, and that they would talk to the tuner and get back to me (yea right)
1. Sounds like an upsell for something they can tune
2. They should be able to code out the AGS, but you'll get a response sometime next year I assume
At least you asked!

Track doesn't allow a deep stage at their events. no freakin clue why. however, i probably could get into the beams a bit more before the light goes out.
called LMS, they already tune for the throttle response, but would have to get their throttle enhancer to fine tune where i like it. not worth that kinda money to me though.
They should be able to adjust throttle tip in to be a bit higher. No reason to get the throttle enhancer.

got the springs. still stock wheels/tires. launching at 2000-2500 hasn't produced much for different results. all between 2.04-2.07 60ft. i don't have a FB. i hate that nonsense.
have you gotten the v3 tune yet for yours? i found my times/mph to be worse on the new tune.
I am wondering if you can ask LMS to up the throttle response a bit to help with those 60's. I would also try to deep stage if possible also.

Pose that request to J.Bishop he was suppose 2 post the IC replacement job Pics.
I could but it was the agreement that he'd post them.
PM me & I can send U what U need should U need them sooner...;-)
This was back in October, I already have my custom intercooler, no need for pics now

When I launch at 2000 rpm with traction control off, I get will spin. 2017 sport with AWD. I have the 21" wheels and stock tires. I am using 32 psi.
@GT500R did you tell Torrie open the AGS or did you do it?
Torrie opened the AGS through the tune.
Can U please provide the contact Info 4 having the grill CNCd?

This is what we did to the:
IC Grill: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/23105-intercooler-grill-ags-2016-sport/
IC AGS: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/23105-intercooler-grill-ags-2016-sport/page-2
Thanks.
I had the grille CNC Machined so it took out the closed honeycombs on the right side, looks very factory and opens it up quite a bit.
I also just had the AGS open 100% from the tune, no need to worry about it in the future throwing a soft code.

Also, sorry for not quoting, work computer freeks out when I try to do it.
We are hopeful for mid to low 12's with a few other mods we have in the works. but since its cold out most of our work has come to a full stop.
No problem, did you guys just remove the AGS?
I had mine coded out in the tune so they are open 100% of the time.

Hi,
As I'm still learning, I have a question: snmjim's run with a DA of 1893 is quite a high DA? I have been do some runs in San Jose area where my D/A was around -1000.
Also how to get no wheel spin....are you getting positive boost at launch?
It is high to run that time, which is why I questioned the date and track. The spin part is easy when you have springs and RMM, those help with grip and not hop when off the line.
@GT500R first my bad man I thought you said 550.00 for the intercooler
Next: It was at an event called street racing made safe at Maryland International Raceway, on October 28th and records show temp was around 49 degrees, 30.12 "Hg, Dewpoint 44, and elevation of 80.....well damn.... I did the wrong math my bad guys..... DA was -670....that makes more sense. Sorry everyone.
Second, all stats of run are unknown except speed and time. we had a spectator tell us our times.
@NoDTMF - Snmjim is AWD and all we did was left foot brake, held around 2200 and just let off the break when the light turned green.
No worries, I may have mis typed the 450 with 550.
And thanks for the verification on the DA, I was wondering how it was a lot higher DA then my run but produced the same times.

damn. for that price i'll just buy a core and make my own.
Pretty much what the guy at Chiseled Performance did for me

We have a 2016 Edge Sport AWD with:
- K&N air filter
- 170 T-Stat
- H&R Springs
- Strut tower CB
- RMM (CPe)
- Modified IC grill & AGS
- Custom e30 tune by Unleashed
Ran: 12.94 at 106 mph
D/A of 1893
4680 lbs (included diver)
0 wheel spin or hop on garbage brand rubber set at 37 psi
Thnx goes out to Special K...
SO I know there is no slip... but what track and day was this 12.9 run achieved? 60’?
I have a couple less mods but similar time.
-
@GT500r Its not double the price....its 850.... and the drop was about 35 from the aftermarket one that Bishop is using.... forget the company. I'll ask when I get home.
recovery was also a lot quicker from WOT pulls, and noticeably more timing up top.
$850 plus shipping (assume $50) is double what I paid.
-
@GT500R did you post a link about it at all or share the link or part number??? 5% larger is fine but if it flows better and is bar and plate its thermal efficiency is substantially better than stock making it a good alternative.
Have you taken a log with it?
I have, posted it in the FB group -

I think you already know the answer to this one...but for everyone elses sake i'll repeat.
No slip sadly.... we were at a street racing made safe event and they were only posting speeds and times on the board.... I came across at 11.89 at 116 in my S4 and he was right behind me with a 12.94 @ 106.
So no 60'? No video?
Kinda sucks.... what day and track was this?
-
Snmjim ran 12.94 at 106 on e30 tune from unleashed. H&R Springs and Dropin K&N filter.
Slip?
-
@GTR500 I see that your signature says your running a CX racing intercooler....which one and how was fitment?
Its a universal core 5% bigger then stock. Fitment was 100% fine, no cutting, no welding, no fuss or muss and was < $550

I also took measurements for the stock intercooler since I have mine upgraded to 100% aluminum/bar&plate
STOCKCore OverallL 25 7/8'' 37''W 2 1/2'' 2 1/2''H 6 1/8'' 8 1/4''snmjim - interested in understanding how they would keep both pipes separate in such a tight space, but would be good for standardization across the platform

is there any chance that it could be too rigid?,,,,possibly causing case fracture...does the aftermarket have bushings?
Aftermarket has a bushing - first pic the black circle bushing with the silver inside ring. That is all a really firm rubber, there is still a bit of a give, its not a 100% stiff as that would not be ideal for NVH.

thats what I mean, the cost to get from wherever you live, all the way to their shop. Kinda how APR functions in the Audi/VW world, but those people are actually shipping cars from Vegas to the East Coast just for Tuning.
Gotcha, on the same page.
-
I think we are thinking two different things. I mean remote tune as in "hey I have a water meth injection and full exhaust can you take these logs and maximize my tune". You are referring to "hey do you have a tune for my new modifications like water meth and exhaust?" And that's going to be a no, bring the car in for a dyno tune for mods or yes we do and we'll send you an updated file.
For the Edge, LMS has advised no development is going to go towards the platform, intake, exhaust, nothing. So your mods aren't going to be fully utilized and you'll be SOL.

-
They will remote tune within certain parameters, they have tested a set of scenarios, and if your mods fall within those scenarios, remote tune! "Substantial" upgrades like bigger turbos and AM intercooler, they will definitely want to put the vehicle on the dyno.
And what would you use the log the parameters? They have advised a couple times they will not remote tune.

-
And cost to get to shop
Unfortunately you need to bring it to them Nick. No remote tuning.... even at a dyno shop.
-
I think that would be a slick way to drop temps....Would that be difficult to tune for...via LMS?
I am 100% confident LMS could tune for it, problem is you would need to bring it to their shop and have it custom tuned for a couple hours... maybe $500-700 on top of the cost of the tuner.
-
seems like a decent upgrade. a little steep on the price for me, as i haven't noticed any wheel hop. did you get a chance to vbox any info before/after install?
I didn't get a chance to unfortunately.
But I'll take spinning over hopping any day as the hop is detrimental on all the drivetrain vs spinning just on the tires.
$165 isn't TOO bad IMO but to each their own.

LMS Tune V3 1/4 mile times
in 2.7L EcoBoost

Anywhere from 1 - 2 seconds. Boost at that low rpm isn't hard to build with your foot on the brake, that isn't your issue. Footwork is good? As in you aren't creating a delay from when you let off the brake vs. mashing the gas right?
