am running1.8 on 2011 edge sport built in October.stop ship was put on this vehicle with the initial mft problems. just got a letter from ford canada asking me to come in to upgrade to 2.8.they are giving customers a car detailing and if necessary a courtesy vehicle. My system runs pretty well bug free,only pulled the fuse once after the upgrade screen.was told if its not that bad dont upgrade to 2.8 it'll only make it more buggy.the newer version to come out with the 2012 models in summer has proven to be very stable and much improved. so if you can wait till later in summer then go for the fix.

have a 2011 edge sport,500 miles.every thing was great till the performing maintanance started.now my phone wont pair.pulled fuse 29 and its working ok(for now).glad i found this forum to see its not just me.Pinkedge, you have every right to be pissed.you have a new car thats not running like a new car. keep up the fight.there have been many stop ships in oakville due to quality issues(not assembly,but parts,wether shortage or bad parts) the lots around the plant are now filling up again and when i asked about it i was told"something to do with the touch screen" Yes i work there in quality control(paint) and we take great pride in building a top notch vehicle.nothing pisses us off more than bad press due to vendor issues.this model launch is huge for us and ford and it sucks thats its gettin screwd up.our hours of production have been cut and that generally means parts or quality issues.lets hope ford motor company fixes this problem and fast..

yes it is the same colour. carbon metallic. this colour is not availabe in 08 model. it is replaced with silver. this is a very pure silver.i work in oac paint qc. the silver looks much nicer imo.

i also work in oac paint QC. white sand will be available on the Flex only and in 2009 on the Edge. this was told to me by Dupont

they are not checked randomly,they should all be checked. thin paint is not acceptable

I work in oac paint quality control. every edge and mkx are checked for door paint. yes they are clearcoated. the inner areas are all hand painted

i work at oac paint ,yesterday dupont ran a test colour edge in BLUE. very dark almost a red tint depending on the light and angle. one of those colours that change depending on the light.

supposed to be 6 months free. i have it in my fusion for 8 months, no bill ,still going strong. i also have it in my edge. i couldn't live without it.
