  1. I have had a couple minor issues in my 2019 ST were I lost ambient lighting and also power to the front 12V outlet.  Once was after my battery died, another time was after the trans was reflashed.

Both times I ran ForScan and found codes that basically said components lost communication.  After clearing the codes everything worked again.

  2. Rabbitslayer, when you read all of those codes mentioned, were you able to clear them?     After my battery died and the dealer checked it out and said everything appeared to be okay, I ran FORscan Lite and had almost two handfuls of codes related to "..Lost communication with ..."   I was able to clear all of them, they didn't return and everything appeared to be good.

A year later I go to the dealer to have my trans updated to the latest TSB and then I notice my interior lighting wasn't working correctly.  I ran another full scan and this time I only saw a few "...Lost communication with ....module" codes.   Again I clear everything and the interior lighting returns to normal.  It appears the interfaces between all of these modules and systems are rather wonky.  If you can, try resetting any errors that you see (after documenting them) and see what happens.

I always am finding something I need, this may be one of them. Does anyone know if this OEM part includes the hardware to install it? could it be that easy?

I got the part from Lakeland Ford also. It comes with the clips.  Pop off the cover, pop the drawer in place. Very easy.  And I find the drawer useful.

The global semiconductor shortage continues to affect global automakers and other industries in all parts of the world. While we continue to manufacture new vehicles, we’re prioritizing building our customers’ vehicles that were assembled without certain parts due to the industry-wide semiconductor shortage. This is in line with our commitment to get our customers their vehicles as soon as possible and consistent with our forecasted supply.

To prioritize these builds, we are changing production plans at some plants in North America. Specifically:

    • Chicago Assembly Plant will be down the weeks of July 5, 12, 19 and 26 and will run two shifts the week of Aug. 2
    • Dearborn Truck Plant will run two crews the weeks of July 12, 19 and 26
    • Flat Rock Assembly Plant will be down the weeks of July 12 and 19
    • Hermosillo Assembly Plant will run one of two shifts the weeks of July 12 and 19
    • Kansas City Assembly Plant F-150 line will be down the weeks of July 12 and 19, while the KCAP Transit line will be down the week of July 19
    • Kentucky Truck Plant will be down the week of July 12 and run two shifts the weeks of July 19, 26 and Aug. 2
    • Louisville Assembly Plant will run on a reduced schedule the week of July 19
    • Oakville Assembly Complex will produce Nautilus only the weeks of July 19, 26 and Aug. 2

Individual Powertrain and Stamping plants will provide specifics around their operating patterns as they are confirmed. Separately, Michigan Assembly Plant will be down the weeks of July 5 and 26 due to an unrelated part shortage.

Our teams continue making the most of our available semiconductor allocation, finding unique solutions to provide as many high-quality vehicles as possible to our dealers and customers.  Thank you for your continued commitment to build high-quality vehicles for our customers and dealers and for your flexibility. Stay safe!

  5. I had the same exact issue on the driver side with my 2015 SEL.   I didn't notice it right away until someone else pointed it out to me.  Looked like a bad stamping.  Took it back to the dealer and they said they were trying to adjust the headlamp assembly to fill the gap.  A headlamp assembly that clicks in only one way.  I was not a happy camper.  They did get approval from Ford to replace the hood.   The entire episode did not leave a good taste in my mouth.

It came from my previous '16 Titanium. I swapped the drawer from the '16 with the door from my new '19. Luckily for me, both had the black interior! :yahoo:

    and

Thanks "omar302" for the picture. From what I can see, it's now just a recess with no door. Also, it looks like there's no more cd player... So it makes me think that I just bought the right year ('19) without knowing it! :)

So the little drawer was just a remove & replace with your older one?   I was trying to eye up my 19 ST with the 15 SEL drawer but I couldn't tell if it was a direct fit.

Have you guys found a website or store besides the dealer that can duplicate the kept on for a reasonable price? Dealer wants over 400$. Wondering if you guys found a place. This for my 2015 edge.

I have purchased two FOBS from this place for my SEL & ST.  Extremely good prices.  I was able to program with two factory keys, but they list local locksmith companies that they use to program.  Not sure what the price is, but it has to be cheaper than a dealer.

Left tires too much negative camber.

    Any updates?

With 41,000 miles on the tires now, there was the slightest excess wear on the outer edges of the tires that were most recently on front.  But that would make it slightly positive camber or toe in/out issue.  The tires have been rotated numerous times and the slight pull is always to the left, so I doubt that it is the tires.  I have learned to live with it.

    What kind of bolts?

I was never able to verify that they installed any special bolts.  Honestly, I think they were just trying to placate me.

So you did nothing to actually start the update process?  I just happened on its own because there is a wifi connection?

Hmmm.  So I guess that means that wifi is active even when the car is turned off.  I have tried several times to update using a USB flash drive but no luck.  I just connected to wifi and checked for updates.  It scanned but never displayed any result - found or not.  Auto update is turned on.  Now that wifi is connected maybe it will update overnight  (but I have my doubts).

Well what do you know,  my 19 ST has been sitting in the garage for a few days, vehicle WiFi enabled but the car has been off.  Started it yesterday and the screen was different, checked the update and it is now 3.4

  10. I used to have numerous flat car keys on a ring, which were no problem in a pocket.  Now I have the large FOB, in addition to house keys on a ring that I have to carry.  In the summer my cargo shorts have a small pocket that it fits perfect in.  In the winter it goes in a jacket.  It is when I am wearing jeans that I have a problem. I have a similar carabiner that I hooked to a belt loop, but it kept getting caught on things. So for now I only carry one FOB at a time and just deal with it in a pocket.

i bought my 2019 in November.  Saw a 2020, couldn't follow the pricing from the 2 years.  The MSRP was about $300 more, but the 401a package was lower on the 2020.  Also, the dash does not have a center compartment on the 2020, no CD player, but the biggest difference for me was the center console.  My center console has 2 buttons, one button allows access to the coin holder, and the second button lifts the coin  holder out of the way.  The 2020 center console only has 1 button, you have to physically remove the coin holder to access the lower portion of the center console.

That sounds like 100% negatives... that sucks.  I see the remnant of the center dash cubby.. looks like it lost a tooth.

Unfortunately it seems like Ford is continuing to cut corners $25 to $75 at a time.  Those small things like the instrument panel hidden drawer, under-hood insulation, dual compartment center console, etc. that folks have gotten accustomed to, get chopped by Ford.  And while they are minor issues, they are things I have gotten used to using and would miss.

Well anyone who would want to steal my car would need to be able to turn it on, have a VCM, and 10 minutes to access PATS (the old method). Was theft through pats programming really such a problem before, because I haven't heard of that where I am from. My point is if I have a VCM and I paid for IDS legit why should I also have to be a locksmith as well to work on my own car. To your point of bad mechanics stealing cars, there already exist tools that are able to add keys without going through fords stupid server, so I would imagine any mechanic in the business of stealing cars would use that rather than IDS. The locksmith that came to my place used one of these sketchy tools, so even he did not go through fords stupid method. So really this does nothing in terms of security except for locking out DIY'ers from being able to access a function on their cars. Why is it a '14 edge with keyless ignition can be programmed the old way but the '15 plus with keyless cant? Is there data to support that '14 edges are stolen more often than '15s? Not likely. All of my problems would be solved if Ford offered some method of vetting that would allow me to do this to my car, I will jump through any hoop as long as it isn't "owning a business with million-dollar insurance." I bring this up because right to repair is a big deal right now and this makes ford guilty of withholding repair information/ software. It is totally artificial competition to make me pay 200 bucks for some guy to click 2 buttons. I don't need him/her to waste their gas to come out, I don't want them hooking their shady computers up to my car (because of the stupid requirements), and I don't want to pay their insane price.

The same reason why my 2004 Crown Vic had a single double sided metal key and my 2019 Edge has a multi function key FOB.  It's called advanced technology.

I have been using the EX for about a month and it is spot on. Absolutely no Issues. Using it with a windows laptop. Also have the MX 'bluetooth' unit. Use it with a Kindle fire for dashboard. Usually have a problem connecting, but once connected it is great.I don't blame the MX, it is probably something I have set incorrectly. I have to go into settings and check that it is set to bluetooth and then it connects. That's my two cents.

Are you using Forscan as the dashboard on the Kindle Fire?  If so can you change the settings to show Fahrenheit and also PSI versus the metric equivalent ?
